AAW - This week's assignment is to take a picture of something that is REFRESHING to you.
Cravings! Orange Juice.. I can't get enough of and it tastes like never before.. Soooo good!
There's already lots of beverages this week but I've never done a beverage before so I was looking forward to it.
WIT: I put a dining room chair on the table and then used one of my husbands shirts to create the background and wrinkles. He kindly held a light from above illuminating the ice cubes and bringing out the blue in the shirt wrinkles.
In post I had to straighten it slightly and I added just a touch of highlight and shadow in Picasa.
Much needed during this heatwave !
A huge thanks to the artists & photographers for allowing me/us to share their photos in mosaics.

I found this mysterious bottle washed up on the shore in onna village . The bottle had no labels on it.
The wind was strong and the light was gleaming gold.

Day 2 of Stampede 2016 was a quest to find the Best Alternative food on the Stampede Midway. "Alternative" in this context meaning anything that bucks the norm of what may be considered "traditional" classic food fare. It could be things that are not deep fried, tailored to certain food sensitivites (ex. gluten free, low sugar, etc) or stuff you just wouldn't expect to find on a Midway. At the end of the day, this year's prize went to Crazy Cones' Apple Pie Ice Cream Sandwich. Featuring their vanilla soft serve within a crispy shell and drizzled with apple pie topping, this treat is sweet, refreshing and lactose free.

It's been a while since I posted any ephemera, so here goes!
Sometimes I forget how refreshing it is to get out and welcome the day in person - while standing ankle deep in ocean water.
You know what else is refreshing? A nearly 16 year old daughter who walks into your room at 5:10 a.m. and reminds you it's time to go to the beach to see the sunrise - on a Saturday. : )
P.S. Yes, I did actually make it into a picture. : )
