When I saw the sky like this and a perfect mirrored reflection... well, let's just say I was a happy camper. This was taken at the Liliuokalani Gardens in Hilo. Thanks to BigIslandSherrye for the suggestion to check this spot out. Tons of still ponds, pagodas, and other miscellaneous things to shoot.
Damn that lens distortion. I'm gonna have to use PanoramaPauls advice and start shooting my vertoramas in 3 sections to correct for that. I went back to basics with this shot and tonemapped each section with 3 exposures (-2,0,+2). Blended the -2 onto some washed out parts, and the +2 onto the darker parts. Added curves, contrast, saturation. A bit of highlight and dodge, unsharp mask, and noise ninja.

When I arrived at this spot I could not believe how still the waters were and how perfect the reflections were too. There were no bird or anything in the water not even the odd bit of rubish.

A perfectly gorgeous view and reflection of Mt Gibbs and Mt Dana at the top of Tioga Pass in Yosemite National Park on Memorial weekend 2015. The snow covered mountains are a real treat during the severe drought that has plagued California!

When I arrived at this spot I could not believe how still the waters were and how perfect the reflections were too. There were no bird or anything in the water not even the odd bit of rubbish.
This is a wider view from the original "Reflection Perfection' you can see on the right the Baltimore Tower under construction which when it has been built, I will need a wider lens. It should make for quite an interesting sight, if you haven't seen look it up it's a sort of twisted spiral.

The sun was just about to blast its way over the horizon, it was a still morning in the harbour.
The only ripples to disturb the stillness of the golden reflections across the water were those made by the fishing boat going out. The distant hum of the fishing boat's engine was the only noise to be heard.

Grand Canal Square reflection perfection. Been planning this morning for a little while and conditions were as forecast with non-existent wind. Always love seeing reflection pics of this place and good to get my own spin on it!
I messed up the focus no doubt which is easily noticeable if you zoom in but happy with this attempt at a panorama.

To celebrate my full recovery after 3 months of illness, It was time to recharge and take the family to one of our favourite places Wells-Next-The-Sea, North Norfolk.
We sat outside the Harbour Office and enjoyed Fish & Chips whilst watching the world go by. The sun was beaming down, not a cloud in the sky, I had to take my jacket off it was so warm, just Fantastic!
Its the first time since Christmas that I have had a chance to really play with my new D300.
This is my favourite picture from today, uploaded straight from the camera on normal settings without any post photoshop processing!
Taken at 1/100 sec f/10 ISO 200 with Nikon AF-S VR70-200 f/2.8 G IF-ED @ 170mm

La segona foto que vaig poder fer De Helper Molen, bé de fet el vaig fer més, crec que és un dels problemes que tinc que faig massa fotos, i després filtro molt i finalment en queden poques, potser hauria de ser més selectiu al moment de fer-les, és una assignatura que tinc pendent, però això ja és un altra història. Les dues fotos tenen la mateixa composició, però moments de llum molt diferents i les dues m’agraden força, l’altre ja la vaig publicar fa temps.

A final reflection image from Strathconon. Eventually the surface of Loch Beannachrain stilled completely and from a slightly elevated position above the loch we were afforded a perfect 'chocolate box' view looking west, including Scardroy Lodge.
When I started out trying to capture a popping bubble, this was pretty much how I hoped it could/would look. Very almost 'job done'!
This shot was featured in the UK national press in July 09 (most of the UK national newspapers), Vanity Fair, Der Spiegel (Oct 09), and in Digital Camera Magazine in October 2009. Has been mentioned on GMTV, and Good Morning America. Very proud!!!!!
This shot probably has the best image quality of all my bubble popping shots. I prefer the composition of my Reflection Perfection shot though, as Sarah's whole hand is in shot.
