Wood Duck drake, Suamico, Wisconsin USA
Getting toward the end of the Wood Duck mating season. The morning of this particular capture was glorious.
The road down is a beautiful hike, and down you can swim, it’s the favorite place from my kids to swim.
There is also a hikingtrail around, and at the other side you will find a castle.
Still in an autumn mood🍁
A few minutes later this mirror was gone. So just in time for this amazing memory🌞

The nature is incredible, if you have a pure eye to see and enjoy, you can stop your frenetic life and contemplate the perfection that lies in it. The perfection that we try hard to imitate in our man made structures.
If you turn this image upside down you would think you have turned it the right way ..... but NO! This is!

That moment when standing out on a cold wet night pays off. Taking a trip to London for a night shoot to catch some trails started with a bit of a travel nightmare but ended with some great shots. This is St Paul's cathedral in London with some passing busses providing some extra lighting
The COVID-19 files | Scene captured during a short holiday break in the Dutch Veluwe region: detail shot of the St. Hubertus hunting lodge in the Hoge Veluwe National Park.
Bluey and I went on a 5 day; twelve hundred mile; how many different highway/freeways can you take; shoot every sunrise, sunset, and evening possible road trip. Mono Lake was one of our stops.
Tarn reflections - Shortly after dawn at Blea Tarn with the Langdale Pikes and Side Pike catching the early spring sunlight reflected in the mirror perfect and supremely still waters of the tarn.
After an early start to beat the arrival of dawn and to catch the early light at the tarn, the still and windless conditions persisted well into the morning giving these mirror perfect reflections for several delightful hours.

Early Fall sunrise light in Kananaskis Alberta Bow Valley Provincial Park. I am celebrating 1,000,000 views on my photo stream!
This weekend I discovered a farm dam near Greyton that I never even knew existed.
It's a fair distance from the main road and tucked away behind a hill... and it requires a 10 minute walk across private property to get there.
I arrived under the cover of darkness well before the dawn on Saturday morning... but sadly there were no clouds to provide the sky-interest and colour that every sunrise photograph needs to make it shine... so none of my photos from that morning are worth processing.
I was determined to return on Sunday morning... when all the weather-sites predicted 45% high-level clouds for the area. But we had some friends over for dinner on Saturday night... and the evening was very festive... and I only got to bed well after midnight... and I knew that a 5:00 am wake-up was going to be difficult... if not impossible!
So when the alarm finally penetrated my skull at the aforementioned time on Sunday morning... my first coherent thought was... oh please let there be no clouds!!
I dragged myself out of bed and out into the garden to look up at the sky. I could see a lot of stars... but there were also large areas of sky where no stars were visible... which meant clouds... darn!! So I grabbed my camera and tripod.... and drove out to the farm where this dam is located. I managed to cross all the open fields without being spotted by any angry farmers... and I set up my camera to await the sunrise.
Needless to say... I am extremely glad that I managed to drag myself out of bed for this!!

And a midges delight, owing to the very calm conditions at 6:30am on the shore of Loch Slapin, Isle of Skye - what a view to wake up to! Unlike the previous evening (see previous upload) when a strong breeze kept the midges at bay, this was certainly not the case this morning! Another clear blue sky (yes I know, photographically boring), but the reflection of the Bla Bheinn range was excellent at high tide.

One of my favorite shots of the Autumn season. The way the light hits and creates this amazing reflection... just beautiful :)

Reflection perfection - Absolute stillness across Lochan na h-Achlaise sees shifting sunlight breaking through onto the snow topped Black Mount; a scene of reflection perfection with nature's light play at its best.
The wild and rugged beauty of the landscape on Rannoch Moor stands in stark contrast to the peace and tranquillity of the still lochan.
A mesmerising morning watching the ever shifting light painting dappled patterns drawing out the contours and raw beauty of this remarkable landscape. I was so fortunate to come away with a bag load of images over a captivating couple of hours, no two seemingly the same.

Wintry view across Loch Slapin, Isle of Skye; highly unusual for conditions to be so calm!

A majestic grey heron stands still at the edge of a pond, perfectly mirrored in the calm water. The lush greens and tranquil setting make the scene feel almost surreal — a beautiful moment in nature full of peace and elegance.
Love walking around the back streets of Venice away from the crowds enjoying the beautiful scenery in peace and quiet. Just love the reflections and vibrant colours.
I have nothing much to show from this weekend so far; so here is another shot from Thursday evening's trip.
The still air meant the loch's surface was like a mirror.
Cool and refreshing a snow storm blows through Yosemite leaving the valley dusted in a white powder. El Capitan and Bridal Veil, the guardians of the Valley reflect in the smooth still waters of the Merced River. Just as afternoon light begins to break and blue skies make the reflections perfection.
