This long-legged, S-necked white bird is found throughout the Americas and around much of the world. It is typically the largest white egret occurring anywhere in its range (only the white-colored form of the great blue heron is larger).
Great egrets are found near water, salt or fresh, and feed in wetlands, streams, ponds, tidal flats, and other areas. They snare prey by walking slowly or standing still for long periods, waiting for an animal to come within range of their long necks and blade-like bills. The deathblow is delivered with a quick thrust of the sharp bill, and the prey is swallowed whole. Fish are a dietary staple, but great egrets use similar techniques to eat amphibians, reptiles, mice, and other small animals.

Reflections on Lake Drummond in the Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge. So calm and tranquil on this day.
Reflection
In the past few days I have been thinking about how our past reflect our future. Even though you think not but your growing and learning from your primary family, you are still bringing roots.. We are reflection of our thoughts, behavior and body language.
When you find your passion, you act differently and you are becoming your own identity.

Went for a little re-edit of an old photo today. It has always been one of my favourites. I loved the reflection coming back, especially with the green of the trees. Felt it summed up the nervous excitement one feels before getting married and the green symbolised a natural unity.
This is the view across the lake at Cragside - the cottage in my previous photo is to the right of this scene. The other buildings are now the visitor centre for this National Trust property in Northumberland.
My photo for week 16 of my 52 weeks for dogs project. This weeks group challenge is 'reflections'. Rather than show Taivas and her reflection I decided to just take her reflection and then turned it right way up! Out in the forest, at Pig Bush. Btw, Taivas did not want to pose. I needed her close to the edge of the bank to get a good reflection and she thought I was trying to push her in! Taivas is not that keen on water, lol.
Taken with my Sony DSC-H7. The contrast was altered slightly in MS Digital Image and it's slightly cropped but no other processing.
A view on Rotterdam from the panorama deck of the Euromast.
(Indeed a reflection using one of the windows of the building)

Thanks for looking. I appreciate feedback!
Finding myself at a loose end photographically (ie, no inspiration
forthcoming) outside the Scottish Parliament building, I resorted to a 'standby'. Maybe not the most creative of photography, but I have a soft spot for water reflections, and it's good to get it out of my system now and then. So I keep telling myself.

more experiments with black backgrounds - this time I realised my Ipad was a glossy black mirror when turned off, so I took this photo making sure nothing but the figure and reflection was visible.
Another part of an old house in Biala Rawska, this window. Rusty and crusty and the paint is peeling off. Love these old buildings.
