For this assignment, I chose to reference Andy Warhol and his iconic pop art style. My photograph features the statue of Bob from Bob’s Big Boy in Toluca Lake, transformed into a pop art composition using Warhol’s signature method of repetition with varied hues. I divided the image into four quadrants, each with a distinct color tone: yellowish, greenish, indigo, and reddish pink. This approach mirrors Warhol’s exploration of consumer culture and everyday icons, reimagining them in bold, eye-catching ways. Warhol often celebrated mass-produced imagery by elevating ordinary subjects—like Campbell’s soup cans or Marilyn Monroe—into vibrant, almost surreal artwork. I applied that same concept here by turning the Bob statue, a symbol of 1950s Americana, into a piece of colorful pop art. The use of bright, unnatural hues and repetition draws attention to the familiar figure while questioning how we perceive cultural icons in a visually saturated world. In addition to Warhol, I considered the stylistic qualities of photographers like Stephen Shore and William Eggleston, who often focused on everyday subjects and imbued them with significance through composition and color. My photograph draws on this idea by taking a well-known roadside attraction and presenting it in a way that emphasizes its role as both a nostalgic relic and a piece of cultural symbolism.

I have no idea why, but flowers like this was stuck into the tracks at regular intervals one day.

This is the photograph that inspired my creation of DM-Foundry. One might note that a great amount of detail is present in the architecture here, such as the ribs on walls, railings and girders. While I did try including such detail in the level, I found that it cluttered the gameflow far too much, especially considering the fast paced arena style I was aiming for. As such, the level itself is more sparsely decorated, opting for more open and clean design.

The final days of Plymouth's Central Library in the layout it's had for the past few years.

The Lending Library is much as it was when it opened in 1956.

The Reference Library has already been transformed into the History Room, but the banks of PCs will move.

The Scott Room, former Scott Lecture Theatre, will become the Scott Computer Room with most computers located there.

The former Local and Naval Studies Library will complete its transformation into the Quiet Room - a haven of peace in a busy city centre and already much appreciated by users.

The Music and Drama Library, in its present location for the past ten years, will move into the main body of the ground floor and its place will be taken by the Fiction collection.

Even the Children's Library will see some changes with a new entrance door.

At the same time, the library converts to self-service and the obsolete 3M security system is replaced by something that actually works.
