Eicher tractor was a manufacturer of tractors, agricultural machinery and engines. The company was founded in 1936 by the brothers Josef and Albert Eicher in the Upper Bavaria town of Forstern. The brand name "Eicher" was last used in Europe in 2009 by the Dutch agricultural machinery dealer Hissink & Zonen and is still in use today in India by Eicher Motors, which manufactures tractors & commercial vehicles by this name.

The first Eicher tractor was made by Joseph and Albert Eicher in the 1930s, in the village of Forstern, near Munich, in Bavaria, Germany. It was the beginning of considerable development of Eicher's Forstern and Dingolfing factories. These pioneers made several tests and carried out a patient work of clarification. The first evolution was marked by the construction of an automatic mower and a three-wheeled tractor. In 1936, Eicher built the first diesel tractor with a 14.7 kW (20 hp) Deutz – diesel engine. The engine was welded to the frame and the rear axle was flanged. The gearbox was attached to the engine and passed the power via a propeller shaft to the rear axle. The mowing drive went from there via an open chain drive. One year later, in 1937, Eicher was represented for the first time at the DLG exhibition in Munich. The block-construction of the Eicher tractors with engines of Deutz and transmission of Prometheus prevailed in the following years. More and more tractors were sold, even tractors could be exported to Austria.

Eicher brothers Joseph and Albert Eicher were born and grew up in an agricultural part of Germany. Their personal taste for agriculture favored the development of ideas which led to the manufacturing of machines and modern devices.

When I first saw the theme for this week I thought I was going to be stuck. But the following day still pondering on it I noticed that the mouse wheel on Graham's computer mouse is red. Bingo!

Took it outside to help with getting the light and colour right.

The group limit has been set at one photo a week (adding a 2nd in comments is allowed), but I had to pick one for the group. Decided on the mouse wheel as it was something completely different.

Thank you for your favourites. :O)

Passerby admires a 1956 Buick Century Riviera on a city street in Victoria BC Canada. This survivor is a little rough around the edges but I talked to the proud young owner and he is going to restore it to original condition. There were 33,334 of this model built back in the day.

A London horse drawn omnibus pauses, and the pedestrian's dog isn't going to move until the bus moves off on its journey along the Victoria - Kings Cross route.

Some dog!

Looks more than a bit over-weight to me but at least its tail is up!

I'm late, I'm late for

A very important date.

No time to say hello, good-bye,

I'm late, I'm late, I'm late

I'm late and when I wave,

I lose the time I save.

My fuzzy ears and whiskers

Took me too much time to shave.

I run and then I hop, hop, hop,

I wish that I could fly.

There's danger if I dare to

Stop and here's a reason why:

I'm over-due, I'm in a rabbit stew.

Can't even say good-bye,

Hello, I'm late, I'm late, I'm late.

This is what I tend to think of when I hear the words "hot rod," or read about them. Probably because images like this are etched in my mind from looking at car magazines from the 1960s (or my brother's collection of magazines back then).

I was surprised how much this reminded me of a painting but it also reminds me a bit of Fred Herzog colors.

"Where is Caleb Brown's Head"

Cranston, RI

RI State Institution Cemetery No. 2

Explore the former Rhode Island State Burial Grounds in Cranston, searching for the place where Grave 599 was exhumed in November 1883. The remains of Caleb Brown were being retrieved by an undertaker hired by his sister to be reinterred in a family plot. When the grave was exposed it was discovered that Brown’s head was missing. Who took it and why (and how) is a mystery.

I photographed this old school 14 wheel former Consolidated Freightways cab over engine tractor trailer at the 2018 ATHS Convention in Lexington, KY. This semi was retrofitted with circle sealed beam headlamps, they originally would have been 4 rectangle ones. It's too bad you can't buy new Class 8 COE trucks anymore in the U.S.

I have to post these beauties, before I move onto other things :-)

A couple of white horses pulling punters around the area. Based at Red House Stables here in Darley Dale . l had walked down to the crossroads to see if I could get a nice shot of Riber Castle across the meadows (No luck , too gloomy ) when I heard the clip clop of hooves coming toward me. Lovely sight.
