This 26-acre former industrial site stands between two channels of the River Lee in Stratford, and will be redeveloped by the Swedish Furniture giant IKEA, which now owns it.

 

IKEA's redevelopment plans include 1,200 homes, shops, cafes, a 350-bed hotel - and water taxis. Walkways in the development will be traffic-free, with cars being parked below.
