This guy never broke character and mentioned that our clothes seemed to be about 1/2 as long as they should be. He tried to sell us a bolt of cloth to lengthen our shorts and t-shirts to 1890s normal length.

Libellula saturata, flame skimmer dragonfly

I coldn't believe my eyes, I finally found a red dragonfly, tomorrow I will look for a purple one. I was doubly thrilled when she landed on thiis red thing-a ma-jiggy.

Not sure of the species, possibly a meadow hawk. Seen in Uvalde, Tx on 070314.
