This loco is a significantly rebuilt Class 25NC, subsequently redesignated Class 26, and incorporates modifications based on the principles developed by Argentinian mechanical engineer L.D. Porta.
It is now part of the Transnet Heritage Collection and, I have been told, will be restored to service but in a slightly more conventional form.
