SSC 08/-9/2018 - Squares and Rectangles .
Well here is a fairly mundane shot " relatively " speaking , what it says on the tin - squares and rectangles . They are Tonic nesting dies I have used with every other one removed - they are used in card crafting using a Tonic die cutter .
Now hands up those of you who see a corridor going off to the top left corner or hands up those who see yourself looking down on a pyramid - or hands up if you see something else completely !
Squares - this year is 2018
the square root of this year is 44.922154 .
and 2018 squared is 40,723,324 .
Now for some music to rest the little grey cells
Water fountain in a park at Seattle
Nice to rest after a walking tour
To have a shot of the flowing water between the rectangles
Rest and recreation !
7 Days of Shooting – Week 1 (w/b 9th July) Biscuits: Now, this might be difficult for some of us as you might not like a biscuit or cookie covered in chocolate and all beautifully crumbly! Yippee, this week we get to eat what we shoot ~ have fun but don’t nibble too much!!
Well, this is exactly what I did; bought a packet of chocolate Tim Tams, which I only have once in a blue moon due to always watching what I do not eat. This one packet of Tim Tams is my main prop for this weeks topic and then I will eat them - all for a good cause, of course. ;o))))
Scavenger Challenge - July 2017 Assignment - My Favourite Things - and who does't like chocolate biscuits......?

Zeiss Box Tengor Type 56/2 manufactured 1951-56, exposed @ f/11.
The curve in the long edge of the print evinces the lack of flatness of the negative when exposed in the camera.
Ilford Delta 400 developed in home made FX-37 (Geoffrey Crawley's brilliant formulation) 1:5 for 9 minutes @ 70F in a JOBO.
Digitized with a Fuji XT-5 and 60mm macro lens mounted on a copy stand and using an LED light table.
Repetitive shape, form, pattern and rhythm study. This image is an example of repetitive shape (rectangles) and form that is not highly structured...rhythm. At the same time these rectangles serve as a frame for my subject.

All the photos I present were taken in towns and on the beaches near Taormina (Sicily-Italy); I made photos related to "street photography and beach photography"; I made some photo-portraits of people I didn't know, I thank them very much for their sympathy and their availability; I tried to capture the essence of minimal photographic stories, collected walking along the street or on the beaches ... in search of fleeting moments ...
My thoughts, like a huge multitude of his admirers, go to the great Italian singer-songwriter, composer, musician, enlightened thinker and film director Franco Battiato, who recently passed away at the age of 76: He was born in Riposto (at the time called Ionia, in Sicily) near the town where I live (Taormina), and He lived not far away, on the slopes of Etna, in the village of Milo.
For some photographs I used a particular photographic technique at the time of shooting, which in addition to capturing the surrounding space, also "inserted" a temporal dimension, with photos characterized by being moved because the exposure times were deliberately lengthened, they are confused -focused-imprecise-undecided ... the Anglo-Saxon term that encloses this photographic genre with a single word is "blur", these images were thus created during the shooting phase, and not as an effect created subsequently by means of a post -production. ---------------------------------------------------------
