Something that I drew a while ago and found whilst going through my old designs.
This works with any right-angled rectangle but make sure that the first crease that you make is accurate as that can distort the rest of the steps if folded inaccurately.
Feel free to share etc
On December 16, 2016, I had lunch with a friend & took her, out of the kindness of my heart, to visit a local antique shop--Gristmill Antique Center in Troy, New York, USA. She was looking for interesting glassware & I knew they had quite a selection. I was not going for myself. What a surprise, when I came home with two new pieces! ; ) To be fair, she DID encourage me! Here is my newest salt cellar, a lovely little amber rectangle. I, also, got a compote dish which closely resembles two salts I own. I've discovered that, in many cases, there is matching glassware--salts, compote dishes, candle holders. So pretty!

You can knit a 2x1 entrelac rectangle as an endless spiral, stopping at 2, 8, 18, 32, etc. (Two times a square number.)
As Sham Shui Po was one of the earliest developed districts in Hong Kong, it was once a commercial, industrial and transportation hub of the territory. As of 2003, Sham Shui Po is covered mainly by residential buildings, with public housing estates built on approximately 810,000 m² of land. Factories and warehouses are still being concentrated mainly in Cheung Sha Wan.
深水埗是香港最早發展的地區之一,她曾經是商業和工業地域。至2003年起,隨著大型公共屋苑的興建,深水埗就續漸變成住宅區,而工廠和寫字樓都集中在長沙灣地區。

This is a screen on which photographs by David Batchelor are projected in an exhibition at the Whitechapel Gallery. They are pictures of white rectangles which he has found round the world. However, the gallery is closing and the projector has been turned off – so one sees just a white rectangle.
Is it significant that it appears against a background of rectangles? The rectangle is a product of human making - scarcely any rectangles are found in nature … except wombat droppings – which are cubes.

Remember when we were kids and we had those little cardboard tubes that you looked thru as you spun the end and you got these wonderful kaleidoscopic effects?? I think I got one in my stocking every Christmas. Anyway, with some inspiration from Jim Zuckerman and help from my wonderful hubby, we made one today. It consists of three mirror rectangles put together in a triangle shape. You then stick the lens of the camera into the triangle and fire away. Great fun!!
I searched around the house for subjects and walked into - literally - our American flag. The wind blew the flag over the end of my triangle and this is what I got!! Pretty cool, huh??
Happy Memorial Saturday to all!!
A golden rectangle constructed with regular LEGO pieces using the 1x4 hinge plate to obtain the correct proportions. The lower rectangle created by the overlapping 1x2 yellow tile is also a golden rectangle.
How many rectangles (visible, half-visble, non-visible) would there be in the area covered by this photo? I did not count, but must be thousands. Thats a lot compared to one, but few compared to what would have fit in, in this area, infinite? Infinite if there is no shortest possible distance, a quantum distance, like we have quantum particles, quantum time (at least some say so).
But we get sidetracked, this (b/w) photo was taken in entrance hall of renovated Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and shows a stark contrast to what can be seen behind this hall, art in all shapes and colour, including the famous Nightwatch by Rembrandt, guarded the whole day by two "daywatchers", problaby to make sure nobody tries to damage this most precious piece of art.
Photographing in this museum is no problem, while in the vanGogh museum next door people are severely rebuked when doing so, which led to an interesting confrontation when a near blind man used his tablet as a magnifying glass........
And finally, doing Rijksmuseum and vanGogh in one day leaves you very tired, I can assure you that.
For Beyond Layers ... Truth and Shapes
When I read today's post I immediately thought of a photo
I took a few weeks ago.
Passing by an abandoned farmhouse this little heart caught my attention ...
Rectangles in the bricks, in the shutter , in the windowsill ...
and maybe the heart shape counts as triangle ...
