A similar comp to one I shot back in Dec '14 (Reckoning) but this time with a nicer sky. My LEE Big Stopper is a 12 stop filter (not 10 as advertised) so that is the reason for the longer exposure. I do like the softness of the extra exposure time but it gets a bit itchy with the long wait. 10 minutes - I should have brought a book along to read!
LEE hard 0.9 ND for the sky plus the Big Stopper.

That day is coming, and DTJ will need to face reality. It can’t happen soon enough. We are presently amazed at how much damage one man can cause in such a short period of time. Hopefully yesterday’s demonstrations will spur Congress to realize that their own political survival depends upon how they act towards trump’s agenda and that we, rather than he, will determine if members will retain their positions. The tide of activism is surging, and it is a powerful force. Photoleap was used to create this image. The original photo was of park stairs in the Kettle Moraine area.

Kithaba has been a way to meet the Sand People. They have agreed to a meeting in the middle of the desert, in the middle of the night. They have some unfinished business with each other.
Previously in this series: Traces to Nowhere and Fire Walk with Me.
I've somehow been taken of this situation. It feels like the Sand People were nailed to look at the fire, which Kithaba carries. They are dangerous, but yet, still in this situation a very open minded. A great moment, I would say.
EDIT: This is all in-camera. I haven't used Photoshop tricks in this photo. It's a route that feels unnatural to me.

Honey Badger: "Objectives complete. Well done, deployments 9-14."
With the preemptive strike brought upon Japan, the US and Darkwater forces have successfully prevented Pan-Asia from releasing the lethal chemical-compounds to the rest of the world. The recipe codes have been eliminated and the Marine deployments are on there way back to the USS Honey Badger.
Oh man, this was a really hard photo to shoot and it still didn't turn out satisfactory. Anyways, this is the last scene pertaining to the conflict in Japan (In The Purge at least) :P
Whenever possible, I always find myself wandering in the same forest I fell in love with many years ago. Its aged, cemented path took me higher to the ends of the pines, mornings and afternoons felt like adventure. But it got dull, so one day at dawn I walked deep and deeper into the heart of it with an uneasy feeling I can't seem to recall. I followed the creek and it led me to this scenery. A place that seemed to exist only in fables I used to read when I was a kid. I knew it then and there, that I was going to encounter something that day, and I'm glad I steered clear of the track.

i don't like posting multiple versions of images but it's been 14 below around here; more conducive to survival or, at least, comfort, than taking pictures. i've been addicted to ship wreck stories lately.
Finding this Mill wasn’t a walk in the park but persistence can prevail when Google & Garmin are on the job. Morgan's Mill, (Lermond Mill) is a very historic mill complex on Payson Road in Union, Maine. With a history stretching to the late 18th century, and its present buildings from the early 19th century, it is one of the oldest operational water-powered mills in the state of Maine.
On my reckoning, full autumn colours are at least another week away, with plenty of green leaves still on the trees. But look down and theres all the red and orange you could wish for.
The news of the murder of eminent Carolean lord Rein van Helborg during the Great Joust spread like a wildfire through the Pale. Years of malcontent reached a boiling point with the event.
The promised extra autonomy for the Pale had been withdrawn in the aftermath of the Great War, with taxes raised instead to ease the financial strain on royal coffers. In a miscalculated effort to bring more Caroleans in the embrace of the Faith, king Raul the Pious implemented the much-loathed Temple Tax, aimed at non-Faith related temples and their adherents, hoping they would shut down and convert.
It was an act seen as near-betrayal of the ages old pact between the inhabitants of the Pale and the King, which granted a certain degree of autonomy in return for loyalty. The Caroleans had bled for the King in his wars, but now the Crown no longer held up its part of the deal.
Enraged Caroleans took to the streets, first in Riesmond, then followed by Essen and other major cities in the Riverlands and beyond in the Pale. Spurred on by the sermons and speeches of some infamous seditious Carolean rune priests, such as the rebel Birger Jung who had long been preaching against the Crown's interests and in favor of Carolean autonomy and religious freedom, the rioters crashed into temples of the Faith - often built by the Crown as symbol of their power - and smashed the statues of the gods there. Rakes and axes tore apart the pictures and relics of saints. Books were burned in defiance of the King and his enforced Faith.
Like a wave or storm sweeping over the Pale, the event became known as the Storm of Reckoning by Caroleans, or theGreat Defacement by the Mardierian royalists.
While it is difficult to pinpoint the exact start for the long-spanning Fall of Mardier, the Queensbridge Murder and subsequent Storm of Reckoning are certainly key moments in Carolean history that served as catalysts for the eventual downfall.

A small build I have been working on on-and-off and didn't get around to posting yet. Even though interest has died down, I might still build and share a small story every now and then.
While I was building, I kept on thinking "this reminds me of something else". So I started going through my faves and found this build by BardJaskier. So yeah, definitely credits to him for the original build, as mine basically ended up as a mini version of his.

Summer may not be over, but it's starting to feel like it's over. Which means I should probably finish processing some of my photos from last winter before I start taking new ones, right?
Here's an attempt at getting caught up: This is a vertical panorama taken last February, no stacking, no compositing, just a vertical panorama on a full-spectrum camera. The lights in the background are crab boats, I think. And they're freaking bright!
"The Reckoning" - is it a sign of the times that my digital art is ending up looking a bit apocalyptic?

This is a ship. Not a spaceship. Not even an airship TBH, but the actual ship. I remember sky-fi anime things like Last Exile, The Princess and the Pilot or The Pilot's Love Song (probably not the most notable example) and such. It's somewhat influenced by those series/movies as well as a really cool book by Aleksey Pehov called "Созерцатель/Тень ингениума" ("Watcher/Shadow of ingenium"), even though there are no actual flying ships in it...
Features man-controlled turrets, openable roof sections, fully detailed interiors and lots of those really cool lil' things you won't find on this image. It's 9k+ parts and has a length of approximately 120 studs, so I'm completely unable to give it a presentation it deserves. Any volunteers to make a proper render are welcome!

I saw this woman struggling to walk and I instantly felt sad. She was trying to get to the pharmacy, presumably to buy much needed medications.
For many Americans, paying for food and healthcare is something they simply cannot afford. The level of care, or lack thereof, that many people experience is an affront to civility and compassion in a nation with the resources that we have.
It won't be much longer before it is clear to everyone that an assault on the poor and needy, as well as middle class Americans, is underway.
Those with the most are plotting to steal from those with the least, as it has been since the beginning of time. Nonetheless, a day of accountability awaits them all.
As I watch the American politicians cut deals with the powerful to insure they remain in power, I imagine what it will be like for each of them, when they stand before the one whose power they cannot overcome, and they are at the eternal moment of reckoning.
