This started life as a single RAW image that I tonemapped in Photomatix. Then I applied the Orton Process. I am not sure if I like the results. Feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Day 2 of summer road trip west to Yellowstone National Park.

It was amazing to see the Alaska Pipeline. It was often in the news during my college years. Lucky had a job one summer walking 10 miles a day along it looking for leaks and other problems.
This was just kind of an experimental shot I wanted to see how i could push the boundary of the HDR effect on this one.....it might of gone just a little too far. Maybe i'll come back to it.
The previous images is a single exposure and this represents 3x autobracket exposures combined HDR using Artisan and a Gold Filter. Not the type of thing I would normally do but something about the Olympics makes me think of Gold!
Day 5 of summer road trip to Yellowstone National Park.
The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is amazing. It contains two waterfalls on the Yellowstone River plus countless others along the sides. The multi-colored rocks result from effects of thermal activity on the rock.

Every morning that I see the sun come up, and row past the trees along the river, I feel like the luckiest person alive.
