I got this suit, the jacket, the skirt and matching trousers, at salvation army today. cost a bit more than I like to spend at thrift stores ($25) but I like it. It is tiny about the waist, though. It makes me waspish and I HAVE to wear the jacket over it.
Great fun, engineering, and coordination went into this fantastic event. The three man team won the timed event. Everyone put forth an incredable effort!

They had this monument to James Dean on the grounds. It looks a touch creepy what with no eyes and all but cool to see none the less.
Went to the Griffith Observatory after Universal Studios. I have always wanted to go here ever since I saw it in Rebel without a Cause. We had an awesome view of the basin, you can also look through their telescopes which I had no idea you could. They have a interesting type of telescope where you can look at the sun with it. There were also lots of explanations of everything they had there.
Performing at the Routes to Roots concert at Edna Manley College . I had no tripod, no flash and people who were anxious to see the concert that they are always in the way.

Because Michigan was a free state, the Rebels aren't portrayed as flatteringly as they might be down South. This rag tag group shows how ill-equipped the Rebels were towards the end of the war. A reenactment down South probably shows them in their uniformed glory. If you look closely you'll see that at least one is barefoot, and some have holes in their shoes.
