I know. I'm hardly original in my choice of subject for today. I'd bet there were at least a million cemetery pics posted but this one has some different reasoning than it being a Halloween theme.
The first, and least important, reason is that I finally got off my ass and found a decent circular polarizer for my 28-135mm lens. Nice timing, right? I go out and buy this after all of the fall color is gone. No, I'm not always a smart man.
The second reason for it is because MK and I found this little graveyard in a nearby state park and didn't expect to see anything like it there. I was on the look out for raptors and other local birds when we noticed this headstone from the road. There was really no choice but to swap out my 400mm for my 28-135mm and go wander through this place.
The final, and most important, reason for posting this is that this location was the epitome of why MK and I have both always wanted to be cremated and have our ashes scattered - neglect. This is also an example of why I believe Ryanne wanted to be laid to rest through cremation and distribution as well.
This small graveyard is very old, at least by US standards. The most recent grave we could find was some time in the 1890's but it is also seemingly forgotten. In most cases, the headstones have fallen and the prairie grass has overtaken them. This does not look like a place of peaceful rest and honor for the dead but more a purgatory of forgotten internment. As I walked amongst the markers for the dead, I realized that this felt more like a place where earthly remains have been imprisoned as opposed to a location where they were set free.
Another sad fact that I noticed in this community of the dead is that most of those buried here were children - many under the age of three. Those born into 19th century central Illinois farm families had to be made of sturdy stuff and it was a miracle for any of them to reach adulthood. Life here at that time was rarely easy and not for the weak of resolve or constitution.
There were a number of locations where parents were buried next to the graves of their children. Often, there was quite a gap between the passing of a child and the death of the parents. I'm sure that those parents would understand how MK and I feel that something is missing every day since Ryanne's death. I'm almost sure that they would envy us for having had the amount of time with her that we did along with the fact that we have grown up in a world where it is just expected that your kids will outlive you. That was hardly the case some 160 years ago.
So there you have it. No tricks, no treats, and no celebration of ghouls and goblins. Just another dose of reality from me, Mr Sunshine. I hope you all had a lot of fun with this holiday. Sorry if I was a bit of wet blanket about it but celebrating a night when the dead supposedly walk the Earth really doesn't do anything for me anymore.
You probobly hadn't made the observation of the decrease in comments to my pictures but I have. Some are commenting one or two days after I post~ AS TO NOT BE SEEN (by my enemies) BECAUSE AFTER THAT PERIOD OF TIME WHO'LL LOOK BACK NOW?.... please don't feel sorry for me but it is obvious. I don't want to care what everyone thinks about me or my photos, but I have to break down-be real-and admit I do care... I am only human and so are you. You all care we all care. It hurts my feelings for some reason that noone that use to comment comments anymore. I have sent all my "girlfriends" a message and most have reponded with "Aw hon I' m not mad" "no blame" "no hard feeling" "we KNOW you did nothing no worries"~and for those words alone I am thankful-but then most of them-NOT ALL- don't come visit my stream or if they do VERY few leave a comment. I was talked out of leaving so I am trying to enjoy the pics. I am buying photoShop this weekend just to get some enjoyment from my hobby since most of the appreciation I was getting is all but gone....I know I never did or will be as good as most of you, but at least I can have some fun.
I apologize if I haven't been to your stream to visit but I am having severe problems with my RLS not to mention a migraine the majority of the week... I will catch up soon......

Thanks to a good friend of mine in my group-she knows who she, I am in complete agreeance that I will not allow this drama to bring me down anymore or let it consume me. I have been doing that for far too many days and this is the last I will say about it. As I said before, I am only human and I have felings~I hurt too when things were said and blamed on me. I said it before and I will say it again ***I DID NOTHING TO HER!!! NO PM"S NOTHING*** In the infamous words of the Piano Man "WE (I) didn't start the fire". I didn't ignite it, blow on it or add paper to it to watch it grow higher.... Not sure of the reasoning here for the arrest, but the police followed the man on his bike and then arbitrarily arrested him. I don't know what happened previously - but he did not seem like any kind of threat to require this much force.

Art vs. Commerce is a tedious subject, and ultimately the time talking about them as mutually exclusive opposites is better spent doing either one of the two.
Yet Adrian Shaughnessy recently wrote: "Digital may be about to become the new design orthodoxy, but it is ironic that, at the same time, digital groups are demonstrating that it is also possible to create art-based projects that make the answer to the question, 'Can art be design?', an unqualified 'yes'. Well, at least a maybe."
So is there a middle way, can you still think like an artist when by definition you create work to sell a product, for a client and to a budget? And while there are plenty of clients who see beyond their immediate sales targets and know how to build their brand with a more artistic approach, the question remains: Does it actually work?
Looking at their successes and failures from the past 8 years, Hi-ReS! Creative Director Florian Schmitt and Nanika Founder Andreas Müller try to find some answers to this question. Or at least some more questions worth asking.
Hi-ReS! was founded in 1999 by Alexandra Jugovic and Florian Schmitt, both graduates of Hochschule für Gestaltung in Offenbach/Germany, after they moved to London.
With their original work rooted in graphic design, fine art, product design, film and music, they eventually decided to combine all these separate disciplines in one medium and started to experiment with Flash. Their first self-initiated online project, soulbath.com, garnered worldwide attention, culminating in a prominent piece in the New York Times, and led to commercial work. Their global client-base today includes Diesel, Nokia, ABC, SONY, Channel4, Warner Brothers, Playstation, Bacardi, MTV as well as artists such as Beck, Massive Attack and Goldfrapp.
Their first monograph 'Amantes sunt Amentes' is released in October 2007 by renowned German publisher Die Gestalten.
Nanika (Japanese for 'something (else)') was founded in 2005 by Florian Schmitt and Andreas Müller, who had been Rich Media Director at Hi-ReS! since 2000. Apart from Andreas' contributions to various award winning projects while at Hi-ReS!, in 2005 he was awarded the Tokyo Type Directors Club Grand Prix for his piece “For All Seasons”, the first, and so far only interactive piece to receive the Grand Prix.
Nanika was formed with the aim of exploring projects that allow interaction beyond the browser and beyond traditional input and output. Nanika recently completed interactive installations for the Sony-style shop in Omotesando, Tokyo, the Herman Miller showroom in Chicago, Channel 4's headquarters and NOKIA’s first flagship store in Moscow, New York, Chicago, Hong Kong and Helsinki and they continue to develop interactive content for NOKIA flagship stores all over the globe.
I am glad to have finally have seen inside St Giles.
This must have been my 3rd or 4th attempt, finding the way up to the walkways, then seeing the church in the distance but the skyways take me in the wrong direction. Like some Kafkaesque dream, so near and yet so far.
I visit The Barbican on my first phototrip to London 9n 1987, just one shot inside the Centre and one of the fountains outside, and that is all that I have to remember. But then without those two shots, I would say I had not been here at all.
Dad used to work in The Barbican. Brooke Marine had a contract to refurbish kitchens of flats when somebody new moved in. And that's how he met Clive James one day. In a lift. Those Japanese are mad aren't they? Is the sum total of Dad's conversation with Clive. James had just started his "on TV" series, and the Japanese game show, "Endurance" was all the rage..
Dad also escaped the Aldgate Tube disaster by a few minutes, catching the next train down the line, thus avoiding crashing into the buffers. I did not realise for years how close he came to the end that day.
St Giles is almost impossible to get to, I walked round The Barbican, then under it, and then through the Centre before being directed up some stairs.
And then seeing it wasn't enough, almost like keep it in your peripheral vision so it don't know you're looking for it.
But I did get there, and it was open.

St Giles has the most startling setting of perhaps any English medieval church. A foundation of the 11th Century, the church was rebuilt after a fire in 1545, that is to say right at the very end of the Medieval period, and looks what it is, a big late Perpendicular East Anglian church, the tower rebuilt in the 17th Century but otherwise looking as if it might be beside the market place in a small Norfolk or Suffolk town. This is disingenuous of course, because the reason for it is the same in both cases, fabulous wealth on the eve of the Reformation.
Historically this was for centuries the largest parish in the City, and the most populous. It was certainly the poorest. The parish was particularly badly affected by the Great Plague of 1665, losing perhaps a third of its entire population. St Giles was too far north to be burned in the Great Fire, but reaped a benefit from it because of the large number of people relocating to the parish from nearer the river. The drains were culverted, and there was plenty of money for repairs and refurbishments. In the 19th Century the church was made more Gothic than it was already with the addition of battlements along the aisles and clerestories.
Along with most of the area to the north of Cannon Street and the south of Old Street, St Giles was completely destroyed on the evening of 29th December 1940, when high winds and the lack of firewatchers due to the Christmas holidays conspired to fan the flames created by wave upon wave of German bombers. For more than ten years St Giles stood a ruin, as the City Corporation pondered what to do with the area. That St Giles would be rebuilt was not in question, but it would need to be as part of the unified whole envisaged for the area north of London Wall, the largest single bomb site in the whole of the British Isles. The usage of the area would need to be largely residential, as the Corporation was concerned about the depopulation of the City, but should also include spaces for arts, recreation and education. Cost was not a factor, there was plenty of money available.
The result was the largest single building project in England during those post-war years. The Corporation accepted the plans submitted in 1956 by its favourite architectural practice Chamberlin, Powell & Bon. The new area would be home to high-rise and low-rise residential buildings all linked together through gardens, with an arts centre at the core. Significantly, it wasn't intended that retail spaces would form a significant part of the scheme. In a brave and revolutionary gesture, the new scheme would be entirely traffic free, the road carried under the site through a tunnel. A revised plan of 1959 allowed for the walkways of the new scheme to be linked into the raised walkways planned to spread like a web throughout the City - although fortunately, apart from London Wall and Upper and Lower Thames Street, this web was never built. The new scheme took its name from the main street which had run through the site, which in turn was named for a medieval fortification to the north of the Wall. And so the Barbican began to rise from the ashes.
With the scheme underway St Giles could be restored, and it reopened in 1960 to the design of Godfrey Allen. Bearing in mind that the interior had been entirely destroyed, and considering the modernist city which was arising around it, the restoration was very conservative, the new interior replicating as far as possible what was there before, some of the furnishings coming from the demolished church of St Luke, Old Street, which had been put in storage. The east end of the chancel was new, but based on architectural details which had survived the 19th Century restoration. There is some decent post-war glass, and memorials to some of the church's worthies including John Milton.
And so it is only outside that St Giles is extraordinary. After twenty years of work the Barbican was opened in 1981, the last great post-war repair project to be completed. The church floats like a great ship in a sea of concrete, an illusion furthered by its position beside one of the Barbican waterways. Some memorials have been reset in the brick and concrete. Beyond is the Barbican Centre, and above rise the great shafts of the towers. When they were built they were the tallest residential buildings in Europe, unashamedly modernist in their concrete jaggedness. And yet there is a pleasing harmony to the whole, the contrasting tower of St Giles sticking up perpendicularly to join them. Of course, you wouldn't want every church in this kind of setting, but I think it works here. And, as in centuries past, St Giles remains the most populous parish in the City.
There was, of course, an emotional reasoning behind rescuing the City churches after the Blitz, because they had become emblematic of the 'London can take it' attitude. Wandering around the City I am struck that with the possible exception of 30 St Mary Axe, the Barbican towers are still the most refreshingly Modern buildings in the Square Mile, and they are now almost forty years old. Much of the corporate architecture along Bishopsgate is simply dire, especially the awful Heron Tower, and it is hard to remember that the NatWest Tower or whatever it is called now ever looked Modern.

Bebe Rexha is beyond excited to be nominated for a Grammy award this year, Best New Artist. However, she’s having some major problems with designers who refuse to dress her for the event.
Their reasoning? She’s “too big.” [insert middle finger here]
Apparently her dress size — 6 or 8 — is too large for top designers to want to put their tag on.
“I’m sorry, I had to get this off my chest,” Bebe shares in the video below. “If you don’t like my fashion style or my music that’s one thing. But don’t say you can’t dress someone that isn’t a runway size.”
For the record, runway models typically wear size 00 – 4, which should not be the expectation for every woman walking the red carpet. To think body image is more important to some designers than talent or character is absolutely not surprising, but it’s infuriating nonetheless.

Mrs. Flores' 5th grade class tried their hand at Breakout. Mrs. Payleitner, Media Specialist at Frederick created three sets of locked boxes that contained clues, puzzles, and mysteries that had to be solved in order to unlock the main box that housed the treasure. Teams had to work together to decipher codes, find clues, and use logic to unlock each aspect of the game. Clues were based on the book Holes by Louis Sachar. Team Blue was the first to open all of the locks and claim their treasure - a Frederick Feather.

A five-dimensional space is a space with five dimensions. If interpreted physically, that is one more than the usual three spatial dimensions and the fourth dimension of time used in relativistic physics.[1] It is an abstraction which occurs frequently in mathematics, where it is a legitimate construct. In physics and mathematics, a sequence of N numbers can be understood to represent a location in an N-dimensional space. Whether or not the universe is five-dimensional is a topic of debate.
Physics[edit]
Much of the early work on five-dimensional space was in an attempt to develop a theory that unifies the four fundamental interactions in nature: strong and weak nuclear forces, gravity and electromagnetism. German mathematician Theodor Kaluza and Swedish physicist Oskar Klein independently developed the Kaluza–Klein theory in 1921, which used the fifth dimension to unify gravity with electromagnetic force. Although their approaches were later found to be at least partially inaccurate, the concept provided a basis for further research over the past century.[1]
To explain why this dimension would not be directly observable, Klein suggested that the fifth dimension would be rolled up into a tiny, compact loop on the order of 10-33 centimeters.[1] Under his reasoning, he envisioned light as a disturbance caused by rippling in the higher dimension just beyond human perception, similar to how fish in a pond can only see shadows of ripples across the surface of the water caused by raindrops.[2] While not detectable, it would indirectly imply a connection between seemingly unrelated forces. The Kaluza–Klein theory experienced a revival in the 1970s due to the emergence of superstring theory and supergravity: the concept that reality is composed of vibrating strands of energy, a postulate only mathematically viable in ten dimensions or more. Superstring theory then evolved into a more generalized approach known as M-theory. M-theory suggested a potentially observable extra dimension in addition to the ten essential dimensions which would allow for the existence of superstrings. The other 10 dimensions are compacted, or "rolled up", to a size below the subatomic level.[1][2] The Kaluza–Klein theory today is seen as essentially a gauge theory, with the gauge being the circle group.[citation needed]
The fifth dimension is difficult to directly observe, though the Large Hadron Collider provides an opportunity to record indirect evidence of its existence.[1] Physicists theorize that collisions of subatomic particles in turn produce new particles as a result of the collision, including a graviton that escapes from the fourth dimension, or brane, leaking off into a five-dimensional bulk.[3] M-theory would explain the weakness of gravity relative to the other fundamental forces of nature, as can be seen, for example, when using a magnet to lift a pin off a table — the magnet is able to overcome the gravitational pull of the entire earth with ease.[1]
Mathematical approaches were developed in the early 20th century that viewed the fifth dimension as a theoretical construct. These theories make reference to Hilbert space, a concept that postulates an infinite number of mathematical dimensions to allow for a limitless number of quantum states. Einstein, Bergmann and Bargmann later tried to extend the four-dimensional spacetime of general relativity into an extra physical dimension to incorporate electromagnetism, though they were unsuccessful.[1] In their 1938 paper, Einstein and Bergmann were among the first to introduce the modern viewpoint that a four-dimensional theory, which coincides with Einstein-Maxwell theory at long distances, is derived from a five-dimensional theory with complete symmetry in all five dimensions. They suggested that electromagnetism resulted from a gravitational field that is “polarized” in the fifth dimension.[4]
The main novelty of Einstein and Bergmann was to seriously consider the fifth dimension as a physical entity, rather than an excuse to combine the metric tensor and electromagnetic potential. But they then reneged, modifying the theory to break its five-dimensional symmetry. Their reasoning, as suggested by Edward Witten, was that the more symmetric version of the theory predicted the existence of a new long range field, one that was both massless and scalar, which would have required a fundamental modification to Einstein's theory of general relativity.[5] Minkowski space and Maxwell's equations in vacuum can be embedded in a five-dimensional Riemann curvature tensor.[citation needed]
In 1993, the physicist Gerard 't Hooft put forward the holographic principle, which explains that the information about an extra dimension is visible as a curvature in a spacetime with one fewer dimension. For example, holograms are three-dimensional pictures placed on a two-dimensional surface, which gives the image a curvature when the observer moves. Similarly, in general relativity, the fourth dimension is manifested in observable three dimensions as the curvature path of a moving infinitesimal (test) particle. 'T Hooft has speculated that the fifth dimension is really the spacetime fabric.[citation needed]
Five-dimensional geometry[edit]
According to Klein’s definition, "a geometry is the study of the invariant properties of a spacetime, under transformations within itself." Therefore, the geometry of the 5th dimension studies the invariant properties of such space-time, as we move within it, expressed in formal equations.[6]

I appreciate much not only those who have a good eye in what they capture, but also their artistic editing, I'm a poor editor,maybe just a lazy or non inspired one. I'll only edit level of exposure these days. Not to say that won't change, we'll see.That being said, some photos you look at and like them as is...for whatever reason. But then you start thinking, and next thing is you're fiddling...or editing. There's clearly many ways a photograph can look good, but...while reasoning is part of photo taking and editing, emotion, how you feel about a photograph, has the final say in my opinion. Reasoning is certainly part of the process for sure,clearly, in fact its vital. But its also very much so about how I 'feel' about my photo or your photo. I don't care how brilliant your or my photo is technically. If I'm not moved or affected in some way emotionally, I don't care about the technical quality of any photograph. It is at this place where reasoning becomes and must be merely a bystander, whatever role it has played now awaits what the emotional judgement will be about the photo. This is and always will be the final word on a photo. Overplaying reasoning when its role is finished is to move out of what art is ultimately about, an expression of something in us that is beyond reasoning that comes from the heart, the core of what we are. I used to adamantly think I had no artistic anything in me. Then I started noticing things in myself that contradicted that. To learn how to get out of you what you feel in you is interesting, complicated, fun,satisfying,frustrating,perplexing, mystifying,mystical,glorious,hard,easy, joyous, tedious,etc. I find as I'm sure others have too, my life and what I am going thru, have gone thru, and anticipate going thru, both helps and hinders my attempts to get what I feel inside artistically out. Sometimes it feels easy whether you get something good or not, but then just as much it can also not feel easy, even when you feel you have got something that at the very least means something to you if to no one else. It is quite interesting.There is no way to move the difficult or challenging parts of ones life out of the way completely in order to be just free to express without hindrance. That is fantasy and just not how things works. Art must happen in the midst of the good and bad, the easy and the hard. It is simply the way it is. That being said I've fought that useless battle often myself. Anyway, this photo is unedited ( on my part, however Fuji has programmed its camera to do independent in house editing apart from my permission), I was going to do a change in exposure,then I thought,why? The interesting thing my mind goes to here is,who am I doing a photo for,me...or others? The right answer should be:me But the truth is I'm well aware that often it's not for me first I am doing it for but others. I think I understand better than ever why that is a major big time mistake when it comes to art. My conclusion is that I must like my photo,be there few or be there many views. If I don't
like or believe in my photo, then few views will not satify, but will bother me; while at the same time many views will also not satisfy me either, and I would feel strangely bothered in spite of many views. Why? It's simple, the only thing that will satisfy is the art, not the few or many views. if you like your photo,your art, you dont care about the views, instead you care about this wonderful effect the magic of capturing a moment is having on your soul. To heck with views, they are not what art is about. Thats true for me and for anyone else. One thing I like about photographers is their generosity to appreciate the work of others. But another thing I dont like about photographers is their competitive meanness and arrogance. Its not different than life in any other way, To think photography is different is to be naive,sorry to say. All that being as it is, I kinda like photography and other photographers and their work are my personal number one inspiration in my own modest attempt at this art form.

Thoughts tumble, feelings twirl, my mind is in turmoil as I walk at pace and talk out loud to myself like a mumbling buffoon. It's early morning, seven o'clock and fortunately there are few people around to deem me crazy, other than a handful of lycra clad joggers with asses like two small children fighting in a potato sack, and a guy being walked by his Rottweiller against the backdrop of the dramatic shoreline.
It's crazy to think this way, though think it I do, as I stride with purpose, reasoning and cogitating her ever word, spoken from behind those luscious red painted lips that are so adept at seducing me to the very knees of my heart. I should be stronger than this, I should resist and retreat, lick my wounds and count my blessings but I cannot get the thought of her out of my stupid mind. The way that she holds her cigarette until the burning embers await the inevitability of their free-fall towards the ground and oblivion, a moment that plays out like a scene from a classic black and white film in my mind as I dote on her every word, fawn with the best of them, fall victim to her womanly ways and prey to the addiction she creates within my soul.
I come to a standstill beneath the rotting metal struts and ageing wooden rafters of the old nineteenth century pier, and if ever there were a metaphor for my worthless carcass, then I've surely stumbled upon it this morning by chance or circumstance. The reflection in the mill pond water shouts 'old man' and 'fool', as my grey hairs scream like florescent beacons in the early morning light. What the hell am I doing? She's no more than a child, less than half my age, why, I could be her father for God's sake! .
Common sense, a touch of dignity, a little rationalization wouldn't come a miss right now. Away from her I can be sensible, adult, think this mess through and compose myself. A man of my age, a wife and two children, a mortgage and two dogs, my life settled and ordered, happiness and love. But fuck, she's so beautiful! A word, a glance, a flutter of those eyelids and I am putty in her hands as she smiles at my weakness, laughs at my inadequacies and foibles, mocks my animal instinct. Hate me, for I deserve it, slap me, for I'm not worthy, in my heart of heart I know I'm wrong, but God damn it, I'm flesh and blood, I'm a red blooded man, there is a fire burning within that has so seldom been stoked these past years of monotonous fatherhood, tiresome marriage. It's a release, a shedding of my skin, a final rebellion, a testament to the lion within this cowering pussy cat.
The shoreline mocks me with tidal surges that kiss my shoes and have me running like a fool to dryer patches. The pier, like me, has seen better days, as my eyes are drawn to the corridor covered by a thin veil of see mist on the horizon where the metal and wood blends as one, and part of me wishes that an ancient and beautiful queen would rise from the water, gracefully floating on a cushion of air towards me as she imparts her words of wisdom on this foolish man's ears. Pull yourself together man,this is Southend on Sea at seven in the morning, not a scene from a David Cronenberg film! I have the desire to walk into the water, follow the light, walk that corridor and see where fate takes me. My life is a mess, my memories candy floss and my hormones sent back in a time machine to my youth in the mid seventies when love was free and responsibility a word not yet fully formed in my personal vocabulary. I walk the beach alone and afraid of myself, uncertain of my future, afraid of what I might become, what I might already have turned into. A monster, a pervert, a leach. Hated, vilified, loathed and despised, I have the power to destroy all and sundry, to crush the beauty of what is mine for life, to wreck and wreak havoc in equal amounts.
And yet I have no power at all. One look, one glance, the crossing of those legs, the suggestion of intimacy, the allure. I am undone, exposed, weak and pathetic. I am man.

It's a rare thing for me to be really mad. The beyond-reasoning-with-me kind of rage that makes a person say things like, "I'm going to tear your fuc*#&$ head off" . In this case, it's actually a nasty, un-neutered cat in my neighborhood whose head I'm after.
It's been at least a year now that I've put up with this bully knocking around my cat. As my sweet kitty, Buddy hides in the far corner of the closet recovering from a day at the vet, I sit here contemplating how best to handle this situation. It's high time to talk to whom I suspect is the cat's owner and tell him what's been going on. It's a longer story with sordid details I don't need to drone on about here, but the rub for today is...NO MORE!!!!
Does anyone ever get to see me when I'm this person of flat-out, fuming anger? Rarely. I do my best to contain my frustrations and speak with eloquence when I'm upset. I hope my neighbor will be open to hearing what I have to say and will do something about his cat otherwise he could very well see a crazed woman (like the one we see in today's SP) standing on his front porch.

Blue Beanie Day started in 2007. I don't know the reasoning behind the
choice of the blue beanie as a symbol, but I imagine that
1) the beanie is because beanie are associated with geeks, and geeks
are the ones who most need to know about and support web
accessibility; and
2) blue because blue beanies are really easy to find, and probably
geekier than most of the other colors. Geek camouflage, if you will.
And besides, rainbow beanies are the province of the autism spectrum
disorder support community.
Now, I could very easily be wrong (since I was making up all of the
reasoning) so hopefully Doug or Jeffrey or someone will come by and

I was thinking of the year my son was first diagnosed with Asperger's
and all his sensory issues. We (the school and me) got him his first
computer and taught him the accessibility commands so he could makes
things easy for HIM to read! What a world of difference it made. We
did still have the occasional website where the accessibility commands
he used couldn't change things the way he needed, which really
irritated him, but luckily they were few.

Now part of showing support was putting pics in the Flickr group. We

While studying historical photographers, I thought it would be interesting to blog about innovative and more recent photographers, such as Erik Johansson. I watched a Ted Talks video of Johansson explaining his reasoning and originality that came from his photography background. What attracted me to his unique work was his technique and use of Photoshop to manipulate his images. I have a passion for photography and digital design; therefor I knew I would love his work. Erik Johansson explains that he believed originally that photography was primarily being “at the right palace at the right time”: luck. He continues to explain that he wanted to take photography to the next level and make the “process start as you press the trigger”, rather than it ending. He aims for a strong level of photo-realism in his work. Johansson takes into consideration lighting, colors, and perspective in order to create the desired illusion and of how we see the world. He experiments with multiple photos having the same type of light, perspective, and photographic defects in order to create a seamless illusion. In this particular image, he explains that this one photo is made up of many different photographs each originally planned out in a sketch. He concludes the presentation by saying, “all the tools are out there and the only thing that limits us is our imagination”. A photograph is able to capture emotions, perspective, expression and more. After watching this video it broadened my perspective on the vast capabilities that photography possesses.

OCALA-- 2 Great Danes Murdered: Woman Fights Back for Justice. August 2nd, 2010, The mother and owner, Holli Tencza, held an open candlelight vigil in remembrance of her two great danes which were killed out of haste by a neighbor, Christian Monteiro, several blocks down the road. The vigil was to support finding an answer from a man who murdered her two dogs and didn't receive any punishment by law for not only unsafely discharging his firearm near a family dwelling with individuals inside, but for killing her own two dogs which were non threatening by any means.
August 12, 2010, Tencza's husband had been mowing the grass earlier and had unintentionally left the gate open, which later her son had let these two large loving dogs out to play around in the backyard. Roughly around 3pm, Epic & Samson (the owner's dogs) took a stroll through the neighborhood and fellow neighbors reported seeing these dogs happily playing around wagging their tails and enjoying themselves while not endangering or threatening any others around. The family quickly found that their dogs were out of their yard and notified proper authorities and began their search around the neighborhood.
Unfortunately one neighbor, Monteiro, decided to take his own actions of putting these loving pets in misery because he claimed he was threatened while outside in his garage working on his automobile-- even after going inside his home. After a call was placed to the 911 dispatcher whom instructed this man to stay inside his residence, he returned outside with a loaded weapon, making claims that these great danes were chasing children down the road and becoming hostile towards his neighbors and their children, which were inside their screened in porch at the time. Upon his overreactions, he fatally shot Epic twice, once in the back and another in her neck and had managed to escape to a wooded lot near the gunman's home. Samson was shot in the face by Monteiro and had managed to survive the shooting at the time.
Deputies had arrived on scene and later Tencza with her family to learn about this tragic incident and never imagined that another person could do such harm to their innocent loving animals. Samson was taken to an animal emergency clinic to take need to these life threatening wounds from being shot in the nose with a bullet still lodged in his nasal passage. Samson later passed after being treated in the emergency clinic due to cardiac arrest.
This case was dropped without any question or reasoning by Marion County Sheriffs office as Monteiro claimed these dogs were a threat to him. Tencza just wants justice and a full investigation for the unreasonable actions this neighbor took upon himself to take these two dogs from her and her family. Her and her lawyer are pursuing for the state attorney's office to reopen the case in hopes that no one else will suffer the pain and agony she has.

Reasoning that since my part of central Phoenix did not get any rain and yet there was such a storm last night, I got up at 4:30 am and waited to see if the still-overcast sky would show a beautiful sunrise. Yippee, for 5:15 am was most glorious! This splendid light lasted but minutes.
I've got about 6 images I am happy with, what with being handheld and all. I ran down the street in my neighborhood with my nightshirt and camera, looking for a view with the least intrusive of the urban structures. There are a few more coming along in my stream, and these images are in my set called "What's Up in Arizona".

Bibel provided a puzzled and amusing account of how it is he is the recipient of this prestigeous award, concluding that it must be for his potential and not anything he has accomplished.
At the end, he made a respectful plea that the life of Gottlob Frege not be assessed narrowly and one-dimensionally as one might from the account of Frege's diary and other associations recounted in Martin Davis's "Engines of Logic." I read that chapter when I returned home that night. I have nothing to offer beyond reporting that Bibel's gracious appeal had me look at the way prejudicial judgments and inflammatory thoughts arise in my own mind from origins of which I lack all recollection.
The question has been asked so many times, it needs to be answered. Are all Muslims terrorists? Let’s reason this out together.
-Are there nominal Americans? The answer is yes.
-Are there nominal Christians? The answer is yes.
-Are there nominal Muslims? The answer is yes.
-Are there any nominal Christian Muslims or Muslim Christians? The answer is no there are not.
That sounds like circular reasoning, but the real purpose of saying those things is understanding that, while there may be nominal Christians and nominal Muslims, there is no such thing as nominal Christianity, nor is there a nominal Islam.
Christianity and Islam are belief systems. Christianity follows Christ. Islam follows Mohammed. Christianity follows the one true and living God. No belief system can be nominal. It is what it is.
Only followers can be nominal, in terms of being what they are in name only. JPT wants you to understand that we do not condemn any people with a broad brush. But we do stand as watchmen on the wall, first of all in protection of the nation of Israel, but also to expose the errors and deceptions of false teaching – especially anti-Christian and anti-Israel teachings.
The issue is not really whether or not there are nominal Muslims. It is whether or not there is nominal Islam. Because the answer is no, we must all understand that Muslims in high places are not nominal. They are Islamic leaders because they embrace Islam and promote its agenda of one world at peace through Islamic rule. They believe in conquering by jihad, whether it is a silent jihad through deception and assimilation or it is the open jihad of rabble-rousing and saber-rattling – or outright terror.
When we speak of the danger of Islam, this is what we are talking about. We are talking about the blood-thirsty lust of Islamic leaders that has Israel and the United States in its crosshairs. We are talking about their goal of an Islamic caliphate with Jerusalem as its capital. We are talking about their commitment to lie and deceive if it will contribute to their cause. We are talking about their plans to eliminate everyone who will not swear allegiance to Allah. We are talking about the phenomenon of the spread of Islam that is eating away at the world like termites in a toothpick factory.
Islam is dangerous. It is oppressive. It is no friend to freedom, no friend to Christianity, no friend to America, and, most certainly, no friend to Israel. Islam is a gathering storm around the nation of Israel and within the nation of the United States of America. We need to be using the power that we have to talk to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel. We need to plead for His compassion for His chosen people. We need to pray for His protection of them (Psalm 122:6) and for His peace to be upon them. He will hear our cry, and He will answer our prayers.
