Children with learning disabilities exhibit a wide range of symptoms. These include problems with reading, mathematics, comprehension, writing, spoken language, or reasoning abilities. Hyperactivity, inattention and perceptual coordination may also be associated with learning disabilities but are not learning disabilities themselves. The primary characteristic of a learning disability is a significant difference between a child's achievement in some areas and his or her overall intelligence. Learning disabilities typically affect five general areas:
Spoken language: delays, disorders, and deviations in listening and speaking.
Written language: difficulties with reading, writing and spelling.
Arithmetic: difficulty in performing arithmetic operations or in understanding basic concepts.
Reasoning: difficulty in organizing and integrating thoughts.
Memory: difficulty in remembering information and instructions.

On a cloudy, muggy morning, three staff sergeants and one sergeant kicked off the four-day competition for RDECOM Noncommissioned Officer of the Year with the Army Physical Fitness Test.
Twenty Soldiers, led by Sgt. Maj. Kenneth Agueda, gathered at Lauderick Creek Training Site as the four participants began the competition with a land-navigation course through the woods of APG. They had three hours to plot grids and find select points using only a compass, pencil and map.

Women and Health Research examines the facts behind the public's perceptions about women participating as subjects in medical research. Women and Health Research documents the historical shift from a paternalistic approach by researchers toward women and a disproportionate reliance on certain groups for research to one that emphasizes proper access for women as subjects in clinical studies in order to ensure that women receive the benefits of research.
The book addresses present-day challenges to equity in four areas:
1. Scientific--Do practical aspects of scientific research work at cross-purposes to gender equity? Focusing on drug trials, the authors identify rationales for excluding people from research based on demographics.
2. Social and Ethical--The authors offer compelling discussions on subjectivity in science, the evidence for male bias, and issues related to race and ethnicity, as well as the recruitment, retention, and protection of research participants.
3. Legal--Women and Health Research reviews federal research policies that affect the inclusion of women and evaluates the basis for researchers' fears about liability, citing court cases. Appendix C includes a DES case study.
4. Risk--The authors focus on risks to reproduction and offspring in clinical drug trials, exploring how risks can be identified for study participants, who should make the assessment of risk and benefit for participation in a clinical study, and how legal implications could be addressed.
This landmark study will be of immediate use to the research community, policymakers, women's health advocates, attorneys, and individuals.

Like these girls, many use their time to the mud pit to reflect on their reasoning ability by questioning why they decided to spend $175 to have the "honour" of doing this!
I see the reasoning behind this. The pseudo-Mustang design elements make this the best looking electric crossover on the horizon. It's also foretelling of a future with an electric Mustang sports car. However, this is still heretical.
Humans have a highly developed brain, capable of abstract reasoning, language, introspection, problem solving and emotion. This mental capability, combined with an erect body carriage that frees the forelimbs (arms) for manipulating objects, has allowed humans to make far greater use of tools than any other species.

We will use the standard Claim Evidence Reasoning format you are familiar with from other science classes in order for you to think about the point of doing the lab. I know. I'm hardly original in my choice of subject for today. I'd bet there were at least a million cemetery pics posted but this one has some different reasoning than it being a Halloween theme.
The first, and least important, reason is that I finally got off my ass and found a decent circular polarizer for my 28-135mm lens. Nice timing, right? I go out and buy this after all of the fall color is gone. No, I'm not always a smart man.
The second reason for it is because MK and I found this little graveyard in a nearby state park and didn't expect to see anything like it there. I was on the look out for raptors and other local birds when we noticed this headstone from the road. There was really no choice but to swap out my 400mm for my 28-135mm and go wander through this place.
The final, and most important, reason for posting this is that this location was the epitome of why MK and I have both always wanted to be cremated and have our ashes scattered - neglect. This is also an example of why I believe Ryanne wanted to be laid to rest through cremation and distribution as well.
This small graveyard is very old, at least by US standards. The most recent grave we could find was some time in the 1890's but it is also seemingly forgotten. In most cases, the headstones have fallen and the prairie grass has overtaken them. This does not look like a place of peaceful rest and honor for the dead but more a purgatory of forgotten internment. As I walked amongst the markers for the dead, I realized that this felt more like a place where earthly remains have been imprisoned as opposed to a location where they were set free.
Another sad fact that I noticed in this community of the dead is that most of those buried here were children - many under the age of three. Those born into 19th century central Illinois farm families had to be made of sturdy stuff and it was a miracle for any of them to reach adulthood. Life here at that time was rarely easy and not for the weak of resolve or constitution.
There were a number of locations where parents were buried next to the graves of their children. Often, there was quite a gap between the passing of a child and the death of the parents. I'm sure that those parents would understand how MK and I feel that something is missing every day since Ryanne's death. I'm almost sure that they would envy us for having had the amount of time with her that we did along with the fact that we have grown up in a world where it is just expected that your kids will outlive you. That was hardly the case some 160 years ago.
So there you have it. No tricks, no treats, and no celebration of ghouls and goblins. Just another dose of reality from me, Mr Sunshine. I hope you all had a lot of fun with this holiday. Sorry if I was a bit of wet blanket about it but celebrating a night when the dead supposedly walk the Earth really doesn't do anything for me anymore.

Abstract: This talk discusses advanced computationally assisted reasoning about large interaction-dominated systems. Current questions in science, from the biochemical foundations of life to the scale of the world economy, involve details of huge numbers and levels of intricate interactions. Subtle indirect causal connections and vastly extended definitions of system boundaries dominate the immediate future of scientific research. Beyond sheer numbers of details and interactions, the systems are variously layered and structured in ways perhaps best described as networks. Interactions include, and often co-create, these morphological and dynamical features, which can interact in their own right. Such “massively interacting” systems are characterized by, among other things, large amounts of data and branching behaviors. Although the amount of associated data is large, the systems do not even begin to explore their entire phase spaces. Their study is characterized by advanced computational methods. Major methodological revisions seem to be indicated.
Heretofore unavailable and rapidly growing basic source data and increasingly powerful computing resources drive complex system science toward unprecedented detail and scale. There is no obvious reason for this direction in science to change. The cost of acquiring data has historically dominated scientific costs and shaped the research environment in terms of approaches and even questions. In the several years, as the costs of social data, biological data and physical data have plummeted on a per-unit basis and as the volume of data is growing exponentially, the cost drivers for scientific research have clearly shifted from data generation to storage and analytical computation-based methods. The research environment is rapidly being reshaped by this change and, in particular, the social and bio–sciences are revolutionized by it. Moreover, the study of socially– and biologically–coupled systems (e.g., societal infrastructures and infectious disease public health policy analysis) is in flux as computation-based methods begin to greatly expand the scope of traditional problems in revolutionary ways.
How does this situation serve to guide the development of “information portal technology” for complex system science and for decision support? An example of an approach to detailed computational analysis of social and behavioral interaction with physical and infrastructure effects in the immediate aftermath of a devastating disaster will be described in this context.

Not sure of the reasoning here for the arrest, but the police followed the man on his bike and then arbitrarily arrested him. I don't know what happened previously - but he did not seem like any kind of threat to require this much force.

My Friend: I am asking you the most important question of life. Your joy or your sorrow for all eternity
depends upon your answer. The question is: Are you saved? It is not a question of how good you are, nor if
you are a church member, but are you saved? Are you sure you will go to Heaven when you die?
God says in order to go to Heaven, you must be born again. In John 3:7, Jesus said to Nicodemus, “Ye must be
born again.”
In the Bible God gives us the plan of how to be born again which means to be saved. His plan is simple! You
can be saved today. How?
First, my friend, you must realize you are a sinner. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”
(Romans 3:23).
Because you are a sinner, you are condemned to death. “For the wages [payment] of sin is death” (Romans
6:23). This includes eternal separation from God in Hell.
“ . . . it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).
But God loved you so much He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, to bear your sin and die in your place.
“ . . . He hath made Him [Jesus, Who knew no sin] to be sin for us . . . that we might be made the righteousness
of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Jesus had to shed His blood and die. “For the life of the flesh is in the blood” (Lev. 17:11). “ . . . without
shedding of blood is no remission [pardon]” (Hebrews 9:22).
“ . . . God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
(Romans 5:8).
Although we cannot understand how, God said my sins and your sins were laid upon Jesus and He died in our
place. He became our substitute. It is true. God cannot lie.
My friend, “God . . . commandeth all men everywhere to repent” (Acts 17:30). This repentance is a change of
mind that agrees with God that one is a sinner, and also agrees with what Jesus did for us on the Cross.
In Acts 16:30-31, the Philippian jailer asked Paul and Silas: “ . . . ‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’ And they
said, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved . . . .’ ”
Simply believe on Him as the one who bore your sin, died in your place, was buried, and whom God
resurrected. His resurrection powerfully assures that the believer can claim everlasting life when Jesus is
received as Savior.
“But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe
on His name” (John 1:12).
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13).
Whosoever includes you. Shall be saved means not maybe, nor can, but shall be saved.
Surely, you realize you are a sinner. Right now, wherever you are, repenting, lift your heart to God in prayer.

Looking at their successes and failures from the past 8 years, Hi-ReS! Creative Director Florian Schmitt and Nanika Founder Andreas Müller try to find some answers to this question. Or at least some more questions worth asking.
Hi-ReS! was founded in 1999 by Alexandra Jugovic and Florian Schmitt, both graduates of Hochschule für Gestaltung in Offenbach/Germany, after they moved to London.
With their original work rooted in graphic design, fine art, product design, film and music, they eventually decided to combine all these separate disciplines in one medium and started to experiment with Flash. Their first self-initiated online project, soulbath.com, garnered worldwide attention, culminating in a prominent piece in the New York Times, and led to commercial work.
