The Lady Wants To Know - Michael Franks
I think that you can all tell that I am in a philosophical mood these days. There are so many complications in life that we, the people, have to solve and surely at the forefront is our inability to let go of the negative forces and embrace the positive ones. It is time for us to collectively come up with good reasons to work together for the better for ALL. In the long run, selfishness does not gain us anything, in fact we lose! Let's find ways to help one another, make the world a smaller place in which all are welcome. It is possible, we can and must do it!!!
Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️❤️❤️

This looks like a nice reason to stop for a photo. January 2006 after 7 inches of new snow fell the night before in Bryce National Park.
For whatever reason the good storms have been avoiding the Tucson area this year, depriving me of the opportunity to get good lightning shots!
This is about the best that I've got so far, the storm was about 14-15 miles east of us. Really lighting up but the lightning was pretty much all cloud to cloud. With any luck and a sacrifice to the weather gods I'll hopefully be able to come up with something a bit better!
BTW, the light spots up above the clouds are not hot pixels but stars!
Wishing all of my flickr friends all the Best!

There goes my heart beating
Cause you are the reason
I'm losing my sleep
Please come back now
There goes my mind racing
And you are the reason
That I'm still breathing
I'm hopeless now
I'd climb every mountain
And swim every ocean
Just to be with you
And fix what I've broken
Oh, ‘cause I need you to see
That you are the reason
There goes my hands shaking
Cause you are the reason
My heart keeps bleeding
And I need you now
If I could turn back the clock
I'd make sure the light defeated the dark
I'd spend every hour, of every day
Keeping you safe
I'd climb every mountain
And swim every ocean
Just to be with you
And fix what I've broken
Oh, ‘cause I need you to see
That you are the reason
You are the reason
Yeah, yeah...
I'd climb every mountain
And swim every ocean
Just to be with you
And fix what I've broken
Oh, ‘cause I need you to see
That you are the reason..."

Clouds obscuring the valley with the Gros Ventre skyline in the background. One of the reasons its called Jackson(s) Hole.
For some reason, seagulls like to gather in a local strip mall parking lot, even though there's no water nearby.
They were all mulling around and then by some mysterious group think mechanism, in a flurry they all assembled in what I guess was a meeting.
A moment or two later, they took their places.
They didn't do anything, just stood there.
I couldn't figure out what was the point of the game.
I turned to go back to my car and there was one big gull standing on the roof. Just standing there.
So I figured well when I get up to my car it will surely fly away.
It did not.
So then I thought well I'll open and slam the door loudly and it will surely fly away.
SLAM!
Nothing.
So I thought I'll speak to it and tell it to go. So I did. I said SHOO with a voice of authority.
Didn't budge.
One more time in my most commanding voice.
It turned its back on me.
Finally I said look, I'm leaving, driving home and I don't expect you to be on the roof when I get there.
I did.
It wasn't.
Maybe what they do in the parking lot game is practice standing and not leaving.
Hope you had a nice Sunday.
Reasons I have not been regularly active for the last two weeks. I am now part bionic man with a screwed-in titanium plate.
The reasons for the white tiger being almost extinct in the wild is because it lacks the natural camouflage of normally colored tigers, and most of those born are killed by predators as they are young and vulnerable, and more so because they stand out. Those that do survive and make it to adulthood, have a hard time hunting for the same reason - lack of camouflage. Sadly, they are hunted down for their beautiful fur and organs.
Thanks for the kind comments, very much appreciated.
I've been a bit banjaxed these last several weeks again with the M.E. and overdoing things, part helped by the presence of these beauties, so If I don't reply or comment on your pics, this is the reason. I'm just too knackered - sorry.
Yesterday, it was windy and rainy—good enough reasons to spend the day on the couch. To pass the time, I watched some of Thomas Heaton’s videos, and this one stood out:
youtu.be/_DsPZWhV_CE?si=V9vL2Y85rHqfrS1V
It really hit me because I had been staring out the window all day, thinking I should go out to shoot. But I couldn’t, because it was raining. Or windy. Or the dog needed a walk. Or a million other excuses not to go outside right then. That video highlighted the essential point: be there.
So this morning, I headed to Kopparnäs and was on the beach over half an hour before sunrise. I didn’t capture anything groundbreaking, but it’s rare to regret outings like these later. You don’t often think, “Wow, what a dumb idea it was to head out so early for some fresh air.”
I have totally fallen in love with Thailand. I could not take that many photos for several reasons : had two kids to look after on the streets :-) and were having on and off problems with the Leica. But what a great place to be for a street photographer, and a food lover. Three amazing weeks, great food wonderful people will definetly return
This low ceiling rainy Sunday is the reason why: 1) a hundred years ago the settlers built these bridges to navigate boggy sections of a river valley and 2) the landscapes are so green.

Do you remember that old song?
For some reason, this photo reminds me of it...
She and her travel companion (see below) were visiting from San Diego.
Thanks so much for all your comments and faves on my last upload...it got pretty high up on the Explore Page :-) ....and strangely enough, that photo just dropped off Explore entirely, from position #17....Flickr fickleness I guess...

i love something corporate, and their final album ever just came out, even though it's just their greatest hits. ): i've been waiting for this since fourth grade.
i'm getting really sick of these plants and flowers and such, sorry for the lack of variety but i expect some wonderful pictures tonight because i'm going to a sleepover. (:
if anyone has any suggestions on things i could do better in my shots, please don't be hasty and just tell me. i'm in complete need of growth.
by the way, hello. (: there was almost a tornado on tuesday. i was crying really hard because the funnel was right above the track we were running on for our meet and my mom was there but i lost her, only to find after a good 30 minutes of crying very hard that she went home before anything even happened.
whatta week. :D
+2 in comments! (when i get home from school at least :p)
Went out walking with my daughter yesterday and she kept singing this song and now I can't get the damn thing out of my head today so I thought I'd share....and now, just maybe, it will be stuck in your head all day as well...bahaha

Let us not forget the reason for the season
To do so would be tantamount to treason
Let’s sing our praises for all we’re worth
Let’s gleefully celebrate Jesus’ birth!

I think the reason I love this place is because of the infinite possibilities it offers, from the big views to these smaller details. The way the sand clings to the stones and is then eroded by the stream is always fascinating. This S curve was too good to miss. I was lucky enough to catch this before a couple and their dog destroyed it all just moments later. I was the only other person on the beach, and had my camera pointing right at it. I couldn't help but feel it was really inconsiderate when the rest of the beach was devoid of people!
for a couple reasons. One being that in the 5 times I've been to Battle, I don't think i've ever seen an eagle there. And second, we were heading back upriver after a couple hours of bear watching. Going back to camp is always with the motor, we're going pretty fast, it's bumpy, so not best conditions for shooting something like this.
But I could see in the distance on the riverbank, something fairly large and brown, which I could tell wasn't a bear and figured out pretty quickly it was an eagle. So I pointed my camera at it, focused and started shooting, hoping for the best.
I got about 8 frames or so, all fairly decent shots considering the conditions. I was thankful for a camera that can shoot 14fps with fast auto focus capabilities and my lens's stabilization technology.
So I was pretty happy to get this
I was going to post this yesterday, as the Atlantic Ocean hurricane season officially began on June 1. To all my friends there in the Gulf and around the Atlantic Ocean, be careful and be safe!
Jimmy Buffett sums it up better than I can...
"My second house in Key West, Florida was tucked away under fichus trees near the old Casa Marina Hotel. From my beach I could see the flashing red and green lights that marked the ship channel and ended at the Gulf Stream. Clouds used to gather over the the warm waters and spill out the rain and thunder. It was quite a light show. My front yard was my “thinking spot” in those days. I had a rocking chair and a hammock. When you come to think of it, you don't need much more..."
Cue the song of the day:
Well, the wind is blowin' harder now
Fifty knots or there abouts,
There's white caps on the ocean.
And I'm watching for water spouts
It's time to close the shutters
It's time to go inside.
Excerpt from the song: Trying To Reason With Hurricane Season
Artist: Jimmy Buffett
The shot was taken just before sunrise (6:42AM EST), as the winds were roaring pretty good, but did it ever feel nice!
