«In your lifetime you will have many reasons to be happy. One of them is called water, another is called wind, another sun, and it always comes as a reward after the rain».

There are several benefits and reasons that make kayaking enjoyable such as: It is a low impact outdoor exercise activity that helps in enriching the mind, as well as the body. It helps people to explore the waters and the surroundings that they paddle in which are diverse. 692-911
Anyone who has followed me for more than a few years knew that I had an obsession with the elevator in Morrice, some maybe calling it unhealthy. After it was finally torn down a couple years ago, there really wasn't much reason to visit Morrice, until I started snooping around the other elevator in town that is far less appealing structurally, but has plenty of other things to work with. After discovering the WC was leading an overnight A491, I did my sleep deprivation routine and ventured out into the muggy night and began setting up. Just a few minutes before 5am, A491 comes flying through the small farming town alerting everyone to its presence, and me alerting them to mine with some speedlights.

I must say, I was shocked when I saw how nighttime changes an owl's face. While they become fearsome predators at night, they also become much more adorable to us humans, who have evolved to perceive large eyes as captivating and innocent.
In an effort to find area barred owls, I set out to a local park before sunrise and came upon this Eastern Screech Owl (Megascops asio) in the dark. This darkness was so inky and thick, in fact, that I could not see if he was in his hole or not, so trained my tripoded camera on the hole, manually focused, and finally saw him in the preview window! Shocked for sure by those massive pupils staring down at me, a frog (which he swallowed greedily prior to this photo and while I watched) in his talons!
Interestingly, owl eyeballs are not balls at all, but so well evolved for night vision that they have elongated into eye cones. For this reason, they cannot move their eyes in their sockets, and have evolved wildly-flexible necks. With their highly acute retinas replete with rods (the light and movement sensing eye bits), there wasn't much room for cones, and so most owls see limited or no color!
-Morris Gleitzman, After
A very oldie, but a goodie. I haven't been able to get out for landscapes, and with winter here might be few and far between so I am looking through some archives from years past. I don't know why I never liked this one? Isn't it strange how something will inspire us years later when in the past they never sparked anything. Oh how our hearts change.

This island of volcanic origin was given this name for a reason. The uninhabited island of Suluda is washed by clear waters with a turquoise hue. And snow-white sand on it gives even more resemblance to the Maldives. There are many beautiful bays around the island itself. A long anchorage with access to one of the 3 beaches on the island gives unforgettable impressions and beautiful pictures to remember.
This was taken on an occasionally perilous drive along the Newlands Valley in the Lake District. This is one of the less photographed areas in that part of the world for some reason but has some really spectacular viewpoints. Having given the matter some considerable thought, perhaps “perilous drive” might just explain the “less photographed” bit .....

AMY LEE - "Love Exists"
www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHvGpxOMN6U
It can be born anywhere
In the last place you'd expect
In a way you'd never dream
It can grow from nothing
And blossom in a second
A single glance is all it takes
To get inside you
Invading every thought
And every beat of your heart
Love can make you scream
And it can leave you speechless
Love has a thousand stems
But only one flower
It can grow alone 'till it turns to dust
It can tear your world apart or bind to you forever
It can grow in darkness, make its own light
Turn a curse into a kiss, change the meaning of your words
Love makes no sense
Love has no name
Love drowns you in tears and then sets your heart on fire
Love has no fear, love has no reason
So infinitely vast
Stop standing on the edge
Take my hand, erase the past forever
My love is you, my love you are
Love makes no sense
Love has no name
Love is never wrong and never needs a reason
I'm drowning in my tears, but my heart's on fire
It can make you better
It can change you slowly
Give you everything you want, ask for nothing in return
In the blink of an eye, the hint of a smile
In the way you say goodbye and every time you find me
..........

It's impossible says pride!
It's risky says experience!
It's hopeless says reason!
Let's try whispers the heart

C'est impossible dit la fierté !

C'est sans issu dit la raison!

So you speak to me of sadness
And the coming of the winter
Fear that is within you now
It seems to never end
And the dreams that have escaped you
And the hope that you've forgotten
You tell me that you need me now
You want to be my friend
And you wonder where we're going
Where's the rhyme and where's the reason
And it's you cannot accept
It is here we must begin
To seek the wisdom of the children
And the graceful way of flowers in the wind
For the children and the flowers
Are my sisters and my brothers
Their laughter and their loveliness
Could clear a cloudy day
Like the music of the mountains
And the colours of the rainbow
They're a promise of the future
And a blessing for today
Though the cities start to crumble
And the towers fall around us
The sun is slowly fading
And it's colder than the sea
It is written from the desert
To the mountains they shall lead us
By the hand and by the heart
They will comfort you and me
In their innocence and trusting
They will teach us to be free
For the children and the flowers
Are my sisters and my brothers
Their laughter and their loveliness
Could clear a cloudy day
And the song that I am singing
Is a prayer to non believers
Come and stand beside us
We can find a better way

In 1990, Archaeological Survey of India discovered a sunken apsidal stepped well along with few sculptures inside it. This stepped well is located immediately to the north of the Shore Temple, its south edge abutting the northern wall of the Shore Temple. On the extreme south of this newly discovered shrine is placed a monolith statue of Varaha (Boar)in its zoomorphic form. This image is carved in round from a single boulder. The statue was found severely damaged, however, with efforts from ASI restorers, we now see this image in its near original glory. The other element of this stepped well is a slender cylindrical shrine constructed partly in rock and partly in stone. Beyond this cylindrical shrine, further northward, is a circular cistern or mini-well. This is cut downwards with a circular rim-like stone placed at the ground level.
ASI report mentions that this well provides potable water though situated near the ocean. Though Rabe accepts these sockets for the capstones of a well, however, he suggests that these might be constructed to hold the ‘pillar of victory’ taken by Narasimhavarman I from Vatapi (Badami) which probably was installed here.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Rabe2 tries to explain political reason behind the systematic destruction of this Varaha image. Rabe suggests that this Varaha monolith was severely and systematically butchered when the Chalukya king Vikramaditya I invaded the Pallava kingdom. The rationale behind this destruction was the submissive and prostrated attitude of the Varaha (Boar) Varaha was the dynastic crest of the Chalukyas. This specific posture of Varaha might be taken as a reference to the subjugation of the Chalukyas by the Pallava king Narasimhavarman I. And to take revenge, the Chalukyan army destroyed this Varaha image while marching forward into the Pallava kingdom.
Inscriptions On the Varaha (boar) monolith –
The Varaha sculpture is carved out of the mother rock like the three other animal sculptures in the Five Rathas nearby. It has four birudas (titles) of Rajasimha Pallava, some of his favorites, inscribed upon the base, in Sanskrit in the Pallava Grantha script. The birudas on the side are “Sri RajasimhaH” “Sri RanajayaH” and “Sri BharaH”. The biruda on the rear, under the varaha’s tail, is “Sri Citra KaarmukaH”. Between the legs of the boar on both the and under its tail, leaves of acquatic plants are sculpted. These are similar to those at the base of the Varaha and Gajalakshmi panels in the Varaha Mandapam. These indicate that the boar which represents Vishnu, is diving under water, not merely digging.
However, how to explain the engraved titles of Rajasimha, as the Chalukyan attacked the Pallava kingdom before the reign of Rajasimha. To explain it, Rabe tells that it was most possible that like other monoliths, this Varaha was also executed during the period of Narasimhavarman I(630–668 AD). Therefore, when the Chalukyas attacked the Pallavas, during the reign of Narasimhavarman I and Parameshvaravarman I, this monolith was present in the temple complex. As the Varaha was destroyed before the reign of Rajasimha (695 to 722 AD), it was Rajasimha who restored it and that’s how we find his titles engraved on it. (Above description source Internet). Hogg’s falls are considered one of Grey County’s best-kept secrets. The falls are secluded, camouflaged and yet easily accessible. Named after William Hogg, a first-class Cricketer, the waterfall is situated fairly close to the impressive Eugenia Falls (no good reasons to not see them both!). A lovely hike through the woods and along the river of Boyne will take you to the 7 meter tall falls that has water all year round. The trail continues across Lower Valley Road into a magnificent amphitheater surrounded the the high hills.

For one reason or another, Bald Eagles often leave one spot and move on to another spot to see if the rotten salmon are tastier than the one they were eating, or maybe to have an interaction with another eagle. Skamania Co, WA, 15 Nove 2020.
Caught in the riptide
I was searching for the truth
There was a reason
I collided into you
Calling your name in the midnight hour
Reaching for you from the endless dream
So many miles between us now
But you are always here with me.
