Undetected after being trapped in the darkness of the ceiling rafters and becoming a Reanimate, Ceiling Zombie gazes down at Cordelia with unrestrained hunger.....

At some days a perfect mixture of ambition, never letting loose till perfection is close (not there cuz it never is) and exploring unknown border ends up in a messy stroke of genius.

With the war leaving the land in dire need of revitalization, Marin Monkey, now a veteran mech pilot of Fabu-Force, repurposed his old farming truck for uprooting dead trees.

360° gif in the first comment.

The idea behind Mech Monday was to post one model of a mech, robot or drone per week, each Monday of 2019. Markus did all 52 models last year. For personal reasons, I did only the first half. This year, I’m doing the remaining 26 weekly themes.

Join in on the fun in the Mech Monday group.

If you want a challenge or need inspiration, next week’s theme is “Reanimation.”

See you next Monday!

Today's story and sketch "by me" is an update on the honeymoon couple Benjamin and Dr. Linda Lou Pudzer, who in the last Blog crash landed here at the Playa Beautimus Resort on their honeymoon, Linda Lou had no idea Benjamin was possibly the worst glider pilot in the Cosmos, he had failed his pilot's license on five occasions, in all of the last five years, and was flying the rented Glider on a forged learners permit, he had purchased from wwwboguscredentialsareus.com. But at this point the bogus permit, has very little to do with the horrendous crash which I am sorry to say was nearly fatal, I say nearly because Rescue Randy the most interesting living tissue crash test dummy, and most admired "EMT" Extraterrestrial Medical Technician in this or any other Galaxy. Randy pulled apart the crumpled glider, extracted Benj and Linda Lou, who were no longer at room temperature. Randy gathered and bagged the parts, and did something wonderful, he flew directly to the best reanimation physicians in the Cosmos at the "UCSB" Martian Reanimation Institute, the same Martians who were sport diving in the Santa Barbara Channel, when they found a lifeless body with the name tag Randy, he was 500 feet beneath the Exxon Hondo platform. They took the body back to the institute, and It was a miracle within a week the Martians had transformed the Anthropomorphic body into the most interesting living tissue crash test dummy in the Cosmos, at a cost of 50 million dollars, Rescue Randy is also the most expensive. Luckily the Martian physicians had some free time, and took on the challenge to rebuild and reanimate Benjamin and Linda Lou, who you see are now living tissue supernaturals, and are back enjoying their Honeymoon here at the Playa Beautimus Resort, above in the Galaxy Glider is Dr Bhutan one of the Martian from UCSB who has come to check out his patients, who seem to look a bit weird, but are in love and enjoying their honeymoon, until next time taa ta the Rod Blog.

When the dishonourable fell, Odin would not accept them in his Great Hall of Valhalla. He cursed them to become Draugar, animated corpses with supernatural powers. Upon seeing the state of the modern world, Odin formed a Legion of the Damned who had to atone for their past by punishing the present in a manner akin to their original crimes. These are their tales and their penances.

Tales of Odin’s Legion of the Draugar: Kåre’s story

As he grew up in the small fishing village of Sodemreetgud, the young Vikingling, Kåre, was prone to random acts of mischief and small wrongdoings. One summer’s day, as he was deliberately blocking the path of a man pulling a cart, he caught the ever-watchful eye of Loki. Loki took on the disguise of boat captain and befriended Kåre. As he matured into a man Loki tightened his influence and escalated Kåre’s jinxes. At the age of twenty, Kåre captained his own boat in the first mighty warrior fleet to set sail across the sea to the land of Engelond. Under Loki’s encouragement Kåre deliberately positioned his boat in the middle of the convoy, and then slowed his pace to a faction of the rest of the armada’s. Chaos ensued as the other longboats swerved left and right to avoid Kåre’s ship. Many crashes and drownings later, the now-depleted navy turned back to the lands of ice and fjords, never to reach Engelond*. After Kåre’s crew had inflicted their mortal retribution on him, Odin placed his own curse of damnation. Kåre’s reanimated body would periodically rise from the grave and roam the lengths of England’s motorways and beat the living crap out of middle-lane hoggers**.

* Loki did get a nicely written thank you note from the Christian god for sparing his merry band of Lindisfarne monks. Unfortunately for the monks this was pretty short-lived.

** Alas, Odin miscalculated the scale to of the problem and there are more annoying middle-lane hoggers than the draugr Kåre could ever cope with***.

*** the Christian god, equally f***ed off with maddening middle-lane hoggers has declared a policy that all their souls will be promised to Satan for him to play with for the rest of eternity. Red hot pokers will probably be involved.

A bit about the photo:

This shoot was collaboration with the amazing Mya on/off and the very talented shutterbug_uk2012

Some melting steel was involved. And some flames. And some burnt skin.

In my dreams, its always like this... I see the Main Body, over half of our remaining effectives, dead on the streets of a little Georgia Military town. Struck down by a stored chemical weapon that a stumbling Reanimated Corpse touched-off by accident.

Unwilling to see residual chemical agent spread far and wide by the Stumbling Dead, I touched off by Timer the Thermobaric Explosive they'd been trying to recover when they were cut down.

A blinding light and a rush of superheated air was the only funeral my friends would ever receive.

The last outpost of order and Old America just got a whole lot smaller here in the world of the Animate Cnrpses.

Generally at this point, I wake up with tears in my eyes.

Came across these two Amish garments at garage sale. Found them hanging on the wall of a barn where they had obviously been for any years. These were clearly the "Sunday best" for some Amish family, as opposed to the day-to-day work attire. These clothes are unlike anything I've ever seen produced commercially. The cloth is a heavy serge. They are well seen, but there is a crudeness to the construction. I was attracted to the aura they seemed to exude. I took them down from the wall immediately. There was no way I was leaving here without them. The proprietor didn't even charge me any money; he just seemed relieved that they were finally leaving. I brought them home and hung them temporarily in the back door of my garage so as not to get them any dirtier than they already were. There was no thought of staging a photo; I simply hung them and walked away. It was only later when I returned that I noticed the visual impact of this scene. The clothes were blowing in the breeze as if reanimated by the people that once wore them. And bumping together as if they needed to be near one another, perhaps as brother and sister. The scene simply reinforced my decision to bring them home. Not sure what I will do with them, but for now, this is enough.

Seltaist first appeared in the form of a divine statue. She was forged by the remains of a great one and served by sharp scholars known as Eladonian’s. The remains of the great one were so peculiar it was difficult for the tribe to identify which entity they may have come from however Themia believes that Seltiast is closely related to Gheos, a former goddess of inspiration as they both represent similar ideals. When the Eladonian’s fell to devastation Commundus removed the statue, burning the holy object down to its core, and sentencing his former comrades to gruesome deaths. Years later a strange creature stumbled upon a chamber filled with dozens of corpses and the remains of Seltiast, by performing a ghastly ritual it was able reanimate her spirit however this act likely led to the creatures own demise.

Seltiast is a compassionate spirt who now looks after the suffering, and unwanted, spreading prosperity and telepathically communicating to the congregations who gather in worship of her. The face and claws of the entity resemble that of her former body, and connect to the spirit as if fused on. Just beyond her back are tentacles capable of absorbing, or deflecting attacks. Each of these tentacles carries a powerful blessing gifting her with the ability to perform miracles all while leaving behind a blue aura. Many of her believers have taken a liking to the Eladonian’s, striving to acquire heaps of information on this special race, and mimicking their best qualities. Seltaist is well aware of the Eladonian’s eventual fate, she is impelled by their memories, and continues to uphold a similar structure to the one they established. Though the goddess is unaware of any potential survivors, perhaps the remaining may continue the path they once begun or pledge themselves to the will of another entity. Alternatively their existence will serve a greater purpose

"Many and long were the conversations between Lord Byron and Shelley, to which I was a devout but nearly silent listener. During one of these, various philosophical doctrines were discussed, and among others the nature of the principle of life, and whether there was any probability of its ever being discovered and communicated.

They talked of the experiments of Dr. Darwin (I speak not of what the doctor really did, or said that he did, but, as more to my purpose, of what was then spoken of as having been done by him), who preserved a piece of vermicelli in a glass case, till by some extraordinary means it began to move with voluntary motion. Not thus, after all, would life be given. Perhaps a corpse would be reanimated; galvanism had given token of such things; perhaps the component parts of a creature might be manufactured, brought together, and endued with vital warmth.

Night waned upon this talk, and even the witching hour had gone by before we retired to rest. When I placed my head on my pillow, I did not sleep, nor could I be said to think. My imagination, unbidden, possessed and guided me, gifting the successive images that arose in my mind with a vividness far beyond the usual bound of reverie. I saw - with shut eyes, but acute mental vision - I saw the pale student of unhallowed arts kneeling beside the thing he had put together; I saw the hideous phantasm of a man stretched out; and then, on the working of some powerful engine, show signs of life, and stir with an uneasy, half-vital motion.

Frightful must it be; for supremely frightful would be the effect of any human endeavour to mock the stupendous mechanism of the creator of the world. His success would terrify the artist; he would rush away from his odious handiwork, horror-stricken. He would hope that, left to itself, the slight spark of life which he had communicated would fade - that this thing, which had received such imperfect animation, would subside into dead matter, and he might sleep in the belief that the silence of the grave would quench for ever the transient existence of the hideous corpse which he had looked upon as the cradle of life. He sleeps, but he is awakened; he opens his eyes, behold the horrid thing stands at his bedside, opening his curtains, and looking on him with yellow, watery, but speculative eyes! I opened mine in terror.

The idea so possessed my mind that a thrill of terror ran through me, and I wished to exchange the ghastly image of my fancy for the realities around. I see them still. The very room, dark parquet, the closed shutters, with the moonlight struggling through, and the sense I had that the glassy lake and white high Alps were beyond. I could not so easily get rid of my hideous phantom; still it haunted me. I must try to think of something else.

I returned to my ghost story - my tiresome unlucky ghost story! O! if I could only contrive one which would frighten my reader as I myself had been frightened that night! Swift as light and as cheering was the idea that broke in upon me. "I have found it! What terrified me will terrify others; and I need only describe the spectre which had haunted my midnight pillow."

On the morrow I announced that I had thought of a story. I began that day with the words, it was on a dreary night of November, making only a transcript of the grim terrors of my waking dream. At first I thought but of a few pages - of a short tale; but Shelley urged me to develop the idea at greater length. I certainly did not owe the suggestion of one incident, nor scarcely of one train of feeling, to my husband, and yet but for his incitement it would never have taken the form in which it was presented to the world."

Thank you A. ♥

('Jason Voorhees' from "Friday the 13th – The Final Chapter" by Mezco Toyz / "Cinema of Fear" Series 1)

I had seen pictures of this modern sculpture on the seafront of Reykjavik before, and didn't think much of it. Quite why I suggested to Gary that we walk down to see it I don't know, but we got there to find it frosted with snow and ice, gleaming against an ever threatening black storm cloud racing in from the left. We were only there minutes before a vicious hail storm killed the light and any visibility over about 100 yards. But in that time I saw enough to reappraise the sculpture. It captures the Viking sense of maritime discovery brilliantly.

Anyhow, has anyone read any of the sagas? They seem to be a hell of a tale. Here is the synopsis for Laxdaela:

Laxdæla saga begins in Norway in the late ninth century as Ketill Flatnose and his children leave Norway to escape the tyranny of Harald Fairhair. The saga focuses in particular on Ketill's daughter Unnr the Deep-Minded. Unnr leaves Norway to travel with her family to Iceland. Later in the saga when she hears that her father and her son are dead, she has a ship built so that she can take all of her surviving kinsmen as well as a great deal of wealth to safety. Unnr goes on to travel to Scotland and the Orkney and Faroe Islands before claiming lands in Breiðafjörður in Western Iceland. Later in life, Unnr decides to leave her wealth to Olaf, the youngest of Thorstein's children. She decided to leave her inheritance to him because he was very good looking and likable. The saga describes Unnr's dignified death and her ship burial.

The next principal character is Höskuldr Dala-Kollsson, great-grandson of Unnr. He is married to a woman named Jorunn. He travels to Norway to acquire wood for house-building. While abroad, he purchases a mute but beautiful and expensive slave-girl. He also meets King Hákon the Good, who gives him wood, as well as a ring and a sword. Höskuldr then travels back to Iceland. Höskuldr and the slave-girl have a child named Olaf, later nicknamed Olaf the Peacock. One day, when Olaf is two years old, Höskuldr finds Olaf and his mother talking by a stream. Höskuldr tells the slave-girl that she can no longer pretend to be mute and asks for her name. She reveals that she is Melkorka, daughter of King Mýrkjartan of Ireland, and that she was taken captive at the age of fifteen. Höskuldr also fights the reanimated Hrappr.

Olaf the Peacock grows up to be a handsome and well-mannered man. When he is eighteen years old he travels abroad. He first goes to Norway where he pays his respects to King Harald Greycloak and befriends his mother, Gunnhildr. When Gunnhildr learns that Olaf wants to travel to Ireland to seek his grandfather, she orders a ship to be made ready for him and gives him a crew of sixty men. Olaf sails to Ireland but ends up with his ship stranded in an unfavorable area, far from any port. Local Irishmen lay claim to all property on the ship, according to Irish law on ship strandings. Olaf, who is fluent in Irish, refuses to give up the ship. The Irish attempt to take the ship by force but Olaf and his men successfully resist.

King Mýrkjartan happens to be nearby and arrives at the scene. Olaf tells the king that he is the son of Melkorka, his daughter, and offers him a gold ring from Melkorka as proof. Mýrkjartan had given his daughter the ring as a teething present. As the king examines the ring, his face grows red and he acknowledges Olaf as his kinsman. Olaf and his men spend the winter with the king, fighting with him against raiders. Mýrkjartan offers Olaf to inherit the crown but he rejects the offer and travels back home.

Olaf's journey abroad has brought him great renown and he now settles in Iceland. He marries Þorgerðr, daughter of Egill Skallagrímsson. Olaf and Þorgerðr have a number of children, including the promising Kjartan. As Höskuldr dies, he gives Olaf, his illegitimate son, the ring and sword which King Hákon had given him. Olaf's half-brother, Þorleikr, takes offence at this. In order to make peace with his brother, Olaf offers to foster Þorleikr's son, Bolli, "as he who raises the child of another is always considered as the lesser of the two".

The Love triangle

Kjartan sees Hrefna with the headdress and decides he might as well own "both together, the bonnet and the bonnie lass".

Guðrún Ósvífursdóttir is introduced as "the most beautiful woman ever to have grown up in Iceland, and no less clever than she was good-looking".

Guðrún has dreams that cause her concern. A wise kinsman interprets the dreams to mean that Guðrún will have four husbands; she will divorce the first one, but the other three will die. And indeed, Guðrún marries her first husband (Þorvaldr Halldórsson) at the age of 15 and he turns out to be a man she cares little for. She makes him a shirt with a low-cut neck and then divorces him on the grounds that he wears women's clothes. Guðrún's second marriage (to Þórðr Ingunarsson) is happy but short; her husband drowns through the witchcraft of a Hebridean family, Kotkell, his wife Gríma, and their sons Hallbjörn slíkisteinsauga and Stígandi.

Kjartan and Bolli grow up together as close friends, the affection between them "such that both of them felt something was missing in the other's absence". Kjartan and Guðrún start spending time together and are considered a good match. Kjartan and Bolli decide to travel abroad. Guðrún is displeased by this and asks Kjartan to take her with him. Kjartan refuses, reminding Guðrún that she has responsibilities at home. He asks her to wait for him for three years. Guðrún refuses and they part in disagreement.

Kjartan and Bolli arrive in Norway at Nidaros and learn that there has been a change of rulers. The arch-pagan Earl Hákon has been killed and Olaf Tryggvason has ascended to the throne, eager to spread Christianity as widely as possible. A number of prominent Icelanders are docked at Nidaros, forbidden to put to sea because they refuse to adopt the new religion. Kjartan and Bolli resolve not to convert and Kjartan suggests burning down the king's quarters with the king inside. Eventually Kjartan warms to the king and relents and all the Icelanders at Nidaros are baptized.

King Olaf makes repeated attempts at converting Iceland to Christianity but meets with resistance. He decides to hold Kjartan and several other sons of prominent Icelanders as hostages in Norway to force a conversion. Bolli however, is allowed to go and sails home to Iceland. He tells Guðrún that Kjartan is held in high favor by King Olaf and she shouldn't expect him back in Iceland in the coming years. He also tells her, correctly, that Kjartan has become friendly with the king's sister, Ingibjörg. Bolli asks Guðrún's hand in marriage and although she is very reluctant the marriage eventually goes through.

News reaches Norway that Iceland has converted and King Olaf grants Kjartan leave. Kjartan visits Ingibjörg for the last time and she gives him an embroidered head-dress, saying that she hopes Guðrún Ósvífrsdóttir "will enjoy winding this about her head" and that Kjartan is to give it to her as a wedding present. When Kjartan arrives in Iceland he discovers that Guðrún is already married to Bolli. When Kjartan, by coincidence, finds a beautiful woman named Hrefna trying on the headdress he tells her, "I don't think it would be a bad idea if I owned both together, the bonnet and the bonnie lass".

Kjartan gives Hrefna the headdress and marries her.

Bolli attempts to mend his relationship with Kjartan and offers him some fine horses as a gift. Kjartan flatly refuses and hard feelings remain. In a subsequent feast, Kjartan insists that Hrefna sit in the high-seat. Guðrún, used to having this honour, turns red. Later in the feast, Kjartan discovers that his sword has been stolen. It is discovered in a swamp without its scabbard and Guðrún's brother is suspected of the theft. Kjartan is deeply rankled by the event but his father, Olaf, persuades him that the matter is too trivial to quarrel about. At the next feast, Hrefna's headdress disappears. When Kjartan calls Bolli out on the matter, Guðrún tells him: "And even if it were true someone here was involved in the disappearance of the head-dress, in my opinion they've done nothing but take what rightfully belonged to them."

Kjartan is now no longer able to withstand the insults. He gathers some men together and goes to Bolli's farm, stationing guards at all the doors of the farmhouse. He prevents everyone from exiting for three days and so forces them to relieve themselves indoors. Later, he further humiliates Bolli and Guðrún by preventing the sale of some land which they had intended to buy.

Death and vengeance

Guðrún goads her brothers into attacking Kjartan and they start laying plans to waylay him. Guðrún then asks Bolli to go along with them. Bolli refuses, reminding Guðrún that Olaf the Peacock had brought him up kindly and that Kjartan was his kinsman. Guðrún then tells him that she will divorce him if he does not go and he relents.

Guðrún's brothers find Kjartan with one companion and attack him while Bolli stands aside. Seeing that, despite superior numbers, they cannot overpower Kjartan, they urge Bolli to join them, pointing out that there will be dire consequences for all of them if Kjartan escapes. Bolli then draws his sword and turns toward Kjartan. Seeing that his kinsman is about to attack him, Kjartan throws away his weapon and Bolli deals him a death blow. Immediately filled with regret, Bolli holds Kjartan in his arms while he dies.

Kjartan's killers are prosecuted at the local assembly and Guðrún's brothers are exiled from Iceland. Out of affection for Bolli, Olaf the Peacock asks for him to pay a fine rather than be outlawed. Kjartan's brothers are outraged by their father's lenience and say that they will find it difficult to live in the same district as Bolli.

Olaf dies three years after Kjartan's death. His widow, Þorgerðr, then starts inciting her sons to avenge their brother. She reminds them of their great ancestors and says that their grandfather Egill would most certainly not have failed to avenge a man like Kjartan. Unable to resist their mother's taunts, the brothers start planning an attack. Riding out with a party of ten, including their mother, they find Bolli and Guðrún in a shieling. A man named Helgi Harðbeinsson deals Bolli a heavy blow with a spear and one of Kjartan's brothers then severs his head. Helgi wipes his spear clean on Guðrún's shawl and Guðrún smiles. Helgi remarks that his "own death lies under the end of that shawl".

Guðrún gives birth to a son and names him Bolli for his dead father. When Bolli is 12 years old, Guðrún shows him and his older brother the bloody garments their father was wearing when he was killed and her own bloody shawl. They start planning vengeance and some time later Bolli, wielding his father's sword, kills Helgi. Eventually the cycle of killing and vengeance peters out and Bolli and his brother make peace with Kjartan's brothers.

Aftermath

Bolli Bollason travels abroad and makes a good impression on King Olaf Haraldsson in Norway. He then travels to Constantinople where he gains renown as a member of the Varangian Guard. Guðrún marries for the fourth time but her husband drowns. In her old age she becomes a nun and an anchorite. The last chapter of the saga relates a conversation between Bolli and Guðrún. Bolli wants to know who his mother loved the most. Guðrún responds by listing her four husbands and their different qualities. Bolli says that this doesn't answer his question and presses his mother on the point. Finally Guðrún says, "To him I was worst whom I loved most."

Finnius Sharp was a powerful Sea-Sorcerer and Captain of the "Sirens Lament".

So confident of his magical and seafaring abilities he pursued a spanish treasure galleon into the fearsome whirlpool known as the devils throat. When the majority of his crew abandoned ship he used his spells to navigate the ship with just a skeleton crew of his three most trusted lieutenants - binding them to his craft against their will.

His ship went down tethered to the Galleon by some foul magic triggered by his greed for gold. Such was his lust for the treasure that his soul was bound to the Spanish gold and the surrounding environs of the galleons wreck. HIs crew were stuck with him and each mutated. The most valuable and cursed treasure itself took on a life of its own and became a creature in its own right....

Left to Right

Bosun Robert Logan - a fearsome bare knuckle Fighter - his first became mighty claws and his mouth a tentacled beak! His fearsome temper spiralling even further out of control. Has developed a terrible lisp and is responsible for giving the magical chest it's nickname "Trevor"

Cap'n Finnius now roams the sea as a shark. attacking small sloops and killing the crews to reanimate them as skeleton crew... He uses "trevor as bait" to lure in bigger prizes and then sends them down to the deep as food for later their booty goes over the side aswell!

"Trevor" is creature born of foul magic that cursed Finniues. He cannot leave Finnius side, neither can Finnius escape from him even if he wanted to. Trevor takes great pride in taunting the Captain with the finest booty stored within his gaping maw. Introducing my Self-MOC! This is actually the 12th version (12.4 to be exact) and a character reboot, though, and I have revamped the whole thing again since this version, too. I will post a picture showing some of the previous versions (I don't have pictures of pre-7th versions, except for the very first), just so you can get an idea of the evolution of the character.

---DESCRIPTION---

Nicknamed "Rahksha" due to her Makuta heritage, Nyctoria is somewhat of a Toa: the most accurate way to put it is, she's a protector...of sorts. She has a strong link with the Netherverse, enabling her to draw on its dark power to perform necromancy, as well as harvest souls and summon them as Netherwalkers (inhabitants of the Netherverse) with her scythe. She can also reanimate corpses to serve her by using seals on their Kanohi.

However, the power of the Netherverse always takes it toll, and the user's soul - and therefore body - will decay the more they use it. The only way to maintain oneself is to harvest the souls of others. Hence, Nyctoria hunts down villains to defeat and consume.

While Nyctoria does defend others from Makuta and other threats, she is not altrustic in her motives -- she will just as easily consume innocents if there is no other source available, and rarely helps others unless she perceives them or the target as useful in her quest for revenge against her "father", Teridax -- and by extension, her de facto creator, Mutran.

As an individual, Nyctoria is largely anti-social, apathetic and an on-off misanthrope - hardly surprising considering her origins. That being said, she is not without a sense of justice and empathy, although her concept of morality is nonexistent at worst and dubious at best.

The Hand of Akan

Those who are newer to the arts of necromancy find themselves often trying to over estimate their abilities. Before one can run, one must learn to walk. The wizened masters of the necromantic craft know this and so in the depths of the Order's studious halls fledgling initiates are made to do just that. Start with a single digit, then two and eventually the entire hand before moving onto something so grand as your first full body. The Hand of Akan serves that very purpose. Rumored to have belonged to one of the enemies of the Order's founder it waits suspended in stasis for aspiring students to practice their skills.

Available for Blood Thirsty starting October 15th!

The Hand of Akan comes with the hand itself, encased in a protective glass case with crystals, feathers and rune stones below. It slowly bobs up and down as it waits for someone to try their hand at reanimating long dead flesh. Also included is the useful guide 'Fundamentals of the Necromantic Artes' if you have questions on how to make a tendon twitch or other fun party tricks.

It is the Age of Steam...

Deep in the darkest depths of Yorkshire lives Dr Frankenstein.

He resides in a luxurious country mansion where he masquerades as a respectable medical practitioner. When night falls however, he spends most of his time doing experiments on cadavers, perfecting their reanimation.

Dr. Frankenstein

Victor trained formally as a practioner of medicine and then later on as coroner. His interest in science and particularly in the research of the cycle of life and death, resulted him becoming some what of an introvert. Spending more and more time in his lab and less and less time seeing patients, The Doctor became renowned for his ability to perform complicated and often life saving surgery with the greatest of ease. So much so that the villagers who lived nearby turn a blind eye to some of his more obvious eccentricities. Indeed such was his familiarity with the inner workings of the human body he was able to accrue a vast fortune from selling anatomical guides and operational procedures to the wider medical community.

"Mr Igor"

The Doctor's faithful manservant. A "fellow" recruited from the scrapheap of broken men back from the war with Muscovy, he travels the countryside looking for organ or limb donors who want to assist the Good Doctor with his experiments. It's most unfortunate that at times, the people donating the organs still need them ( It's all in the name of science you understand)...

The Monster

Dr Frankensteins' greatest achievement is the reconstruction and reanimation of his dearly departed brother Adam. Killed in the war with Muscovy, his internal organs have been replaced with clockwork pumps and machinations. Fitting all those parts into Adam's wretched and mutilated body proved to difficult so using a patchwork of donor parts and a reinforced extemded brass skeleton the monster was born. Frankenstein believes Adam's consciousness is still locked away inside the monsters brain, but as of yet his experiments to restore his brothers identity have proved futile.

Madam Auderville

Madam Auderville is the only servant who has remained loyal to the doctor upon finding out his true nature. This is most probably why she is still alive and the rest have ended up on the mortuary slab. she takes good care of the Mansion and ensures at least outwardly that the place appears normal and without cobwebs (much to Mr Igor's disdain).

He will certainly need these skills to defeat these reanimated creatures who are clearly out to destroy him... but why?

From the underground steel cage fight matches at Silent Sam's, Vilgax prepares for combat!

Doctor Aloysius James Animo, temporarily known as D'Void in the Null Void, is one of Ben Tennyson's enemies, a mad scientist obsessed with genetic experiments on animals. He was first introduced in Washington B.C. and became one of the most recurring villains in the Original Series.

Dr. Animo is an insane mad scientist with delusions of grandeur. Due to his constant defeats at the hands of Ben Tennyson and his family and friends, Animo has become greatly unhinged by the time of the Omniverse series. At present, he spends much of his time in a Plumber prison, creating plush toy versions of his mutated creatures and talking to them.

In Omniverse, he's made three attempts to get revenge on Ben and mutate the world, with all his plans failing miserably. He also has a cell full of stuffed animals with parts mixed in with other animals. He talks to them as if they're real.

Five years prior Ben 10

Dr. Animo was once a respected and promising researcher in veterinary science who was driven crazy when he desired to rebuild animal DNA into super animals.

His career was cut short when it was discovered that he was performing twisted genetic experiments on animals. He had hoped that his research would win him the Verities Award, which is an award in veterinary science. Because of the nature of his research, he lost the award to another doctor, named Kelly. This drove him mad and he faded to obscurity for five years until he could perfect his research.

Because he locked himself indoors for five years, his skin and formerly brown hair turned pale from overwork and lack of exposure to sunlight.

Ben 10

Sometime before his first appearance in the show, Animo watched a TV report showing Ben as Diamondhead saving a camp from a giant robot. This inspired him and led him to look for a way to create his own minion monsters.

Animo eventually appeared in Washington B.C., where he created a device called the Transmodulator, which gave him the ability to mutate animals into twisted giant versions of themselves. He then was able to upgrade it so it could reanimate dead cells, literally bringing dead animals back to life, although his reanimated monsters were actually zombies.

Using his new army of animals, he intended to kill Kelly and get the award he had lost, but Ben eventually destroyed his Transmodulator, reversing its effects. Animo was then arrested.

Animo without his gear

He appeared again in the episode Dr. Animo and the Mutant Ray, where he created a much larger version of the Transmodulator using the broken-off faceplate of the Omnitrix and a large telescope in an abandoned astrology lab.

This version mutated living creatures with alien DNA, creating odd mixtures of alien and terrestrial creatures, such as a Heatbat. He had also managed to turn Grandpa Max into a Stinkfly-larvae type creature.

Before he could complete his plans to use a satellite to shoot the ray all over the world, Ben stopped him with Gwen's help. Since his mutants (with the exception of Grandpa Max) were never shown being cured, it is possible that they are still around.

For some reason, his trademark giant frog is also present, though he may have simply re-mutated it sometime after his original defeat. How and when he escaped is unknown.

In Divided We Stand, he escaped what seems to be Alcatraz Island on a mutant seagull (he had trained the seagull to smuggle in parts he could use to build a Transmodulator and then mutated it) and captured one of Ben's Ditto clones to access the DNA stored in his Omnitrix.

Using this DNA, he created an army of self-replicating Lepidopterran mutants, but they were destroyed and he was captured again. Afterwards, Max deleted all of his computer files, preventing him from using any more Omnitrix DNA in his experiments if he escaped again.

In Ben 10 vs. the Negative 10: Part 2, Animo was part of the Negative 10, a team assembled by Sir Driscoll to defeat the Tennysons. He used a mutant bat and prairie dog to fight the Tennysons.

Animo briefly appeared at the beginning of Secret of the Omnitrix, where he captured Max and Gwen and created a dangerous bomb. Although he escaped, Ben destroyed the bomb, unintentionally causing the Omnitrix's Self-Destruct Mode to be activated.

Animo briefly appeared at the end of Destroy All Aliens, where he and his mutant frog attack Ben, Gwen, and Max while they were on another road trip.

Goodbye and Good Riddance (What-If?)

Animo made a brief appearance at the end of Goodbye and Good Riddance, wearing an ape-like exo-suit, and leading a group of animal mutants towards Ben's school. Ben left class to stop him.

Five years prior to Omniverse

In Special Delivery, Dr. Animo and his Mutant Mosquito had encountered and were defeated by Ben when he transformed into Way Big and picked up Mr. Baumann's delivery truck in order to knock Dr. Animo into a wall and threw it at the Mutant Mosquito in order to project it into outer space.

In Evil's Encore, Dr. Animo used Technobugs to take over the Plumber's HQ at Mount Rushmore. His goal was to spread his mutation ray all over the planet by hijacking the Plumber's network of satellites. He was stopped by Ben, Max, and Gwen when they destroyed his Technobugs and sent him to prison.

Alien Force

Four years later, during the time of Ben 10: Alien Force, Dr. Animo was found in the Null Void (he purposely went in to find new animal species but couldn't get out) where he assumed control over the Null Guardians and took on the alias "D'Void".

He planned to open a wormhole to use the Guardians to take over the Earth, and he forced the citizens there to gather a mineral that not only powered his drill but gave him immense strength and near invulnerability (to the point where a direct attack on him was completely ineffective). In Voided, his plans were foiled by the joint efforts of Helen, Manny, Ben, Max (codenamed "The Wrench"), and a group of other Plumbers' kids (including a Havoc Beast and a Vulpimancer).

Ultimate Alien

Animo later returned in Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, having somehow escaped from the Null Void and going by his true name again.

At the beginning of Escape from Aggregor, he used a device to take control of the Yeti in the Himalayas and create a "De-Evolution Bomb" to turn everyone in the Southern hemisphere into yetis (which Ben, Gwen, Kevin and even the Yeti thought was a stupid idea).

Using Brainstorm, Ben was able to turn his mind-controlled Yeti against him, while Kevin and Gwen disabled the bomb. He was then captured by the Plumbers.

Animo returned in It's Not Easy Being Gwen where he attempted to raise an army of his signature mutated Frogs using the enhanced version of his telescopic Transmodulator.

He was eventually defeated by Gwen, Ben, and Kevin. After being brought to the authorities, Animo was released from prison a few months later on good behavior.

Animo appeared again in The Eggman Cometh where it was revealed that he had acquired a farm. In his farm, he used a de-evolutionary ray to turn chicken eggs into Pterodactyl eggs. He was eventually stopped when Ben used Juryrigg to turn the de-evolutionary ray into an evolution ray and then Jetray to turn all of the Pterodactyls back into chickens.

Omniverse

Dr. Animo has removed the top of his skull and replaced it with a glass dome in order to have better control over animals and other self-upgrades.

He has apparently developed a hobby of cutting up and stitching together stuffed animals (and in future episodes, talking with them, showing that between Ultimate Alien and Omniverse, Animo's blatant insanity has only gotten worse), his cell full of them.

Animo returned in It Was Them where from his cell, he had been mutating ants and using them to construct a sky-scraper-sized base with a transmitter to mutate every ant on earth. He also made a "King Ant" costume, which was armed with flame throwers. Ben and his new partner Rook fought Animo and his army. He was later attacked by Khyber's Pet in the form of Mucilator.

Animo attempted to control the beast, but only provoked it into attacking him. Ben got Animo's ants to attack Mucilator and Rook was able to kill the ants by creating an anti-ant bomb from Animo's equipment. This forced a retreat from the beast and allowed Ben and Rook to return Animo to his cell.

In Evil's Encore, Animo, five years after his first attempt, again attempted to use a Technobug to escape, take over the Plumber's base, and mutate the world, but his plan was thwarted before it even started as Blukic eats the Technobug as a snack.

In T.G.I.S., he had somehow managed to escape Plumber Prison and had revived V.V. Argost with a mixture of cryptids as a new body. Apparently, the process had taken 3 years, the delay being attributed to fighting Ben Tennyson and his time spent in jail.

He later decided to capture Fiskerton, to research him and add him to his collection, but he and Argost ended up defeated by Ben, Rook, and The Saturdays. He was last seen running off after his control over the Chupacabras was destroyed.

In Animo Crackers, he was seen back in his cell at Plumber Prison, indicating that he had been recaptured. Due to the actions of his future self, he managed to escape and joined him to try and steal a huge repository of DNA. However, he was thwarted by the actions of Ben, Rook, Spanner, and arguing with his future self.

In the end, he was recaptured with his memory of this event erased by Gutrot.

Powers and Abilities

Dr. Animo has the power to telepathically or emphatically control animals. This ability is furthered by his headgear. This includes ordinary animals, but also his mutant monsters and even aliens, as he was able to take control of the Null Guardians. He learned this power from one of Ben's other enemies, Clancy, who could control bugs and other arthropods the same way.

In addition to this power, Animo is a genius and brilliant scientist, skilled in both machines and genetic experiments, who usually uses his knowledge to give him additional powers.

His trademark invention, the Trans-modulator and its variants (including on two occasions a device he called a De-Evolution Bomb), allows him to turn animals into powerful, dangerous mutants as well as reanimated the remains of long since extinct animals into zombie-like creatures both of whom serve as his minions.

His other inventions include a machine able to convert heat into energy used to increase his strength and durability, and a head band amplifying his control over animals so he could control creatures like the Yeti.

In addition, Animo is - partly out of necessity - a master of technical improvisation, capable of constructing his devices from the simplest of materials. The prototype of his Trans-modulator was constructed from commercially available electronic components and an alternated kitchen sieve.

In the Original Series, he usually relied on armies of mutated animals to fight for him.

In Animo Crackers, he is given a new pair of antennae by his future-self, which not only allows him to control animals, but also to mutate them, as he mutates a group of squirrels to attack Rook.

Weaknesses

Animo's biggest weaknesses are his temper, arrogance, and all around crazy behavior.

He would lose control over all the cryptids if his antennae get damaged or taken.
