My idea behind this was a twist on the tale of Frankenstein, where love is reanimated instead of the actual monster. Obviously she is celebrating her experiment with fiery cocktails by ChicChica as she awaits the results. With hindsight, falling asleep with an Eldritch book on my...lap...is probably a very bad idea, especially as Little Nightmare seems to have a guest hiding within its pages. You can leave one lying around on your coffee table as a test on any visitor's observation skills. The fab Steampunk Cap by KiB seems to look just as smart as decor or being worn for that Steampunk vibe and comes with a mask. My old friend Kusari is outside being devious using the poses by SAPA.
I actually had some technical issues with this one and it was a swine to photograph, but Kusari's humour kept me going.

I've had little sleep lately and feel like hell, so this Necromancer outfit by Somnium perfectly fitted my mood. Grab Raven-Array's stave to match and go raise the dead...I mean friends. Yes, friends *cough*.
Factoid of the day: The term Litch, to denote an undead Necromancer in Fantasy fiction originates from the Anglo-Saxon term 'Lytch', meaning corpse. In English churchyards they still have Lytchgates, small roofed gates where once bodies were left to rest for two days with vigil watchers before burial. These days you will often see them decorated for festivals and weddings by people unaware of its more disconcerting past.

It's that special time again: Dura made hair for us - and oh my, I love this one! It's unisex hair with two different options for bangs, undercut version and mirrored version. Though I personally just admire the fine strand that seem to get more and more detailed every time. DRAMATIS PERSONAE:
THE SCHOLAR: Professor Cassiopeia Quandry, daughter of famed astronomer and historian Sir Edward Quandry, who was recently killed in a tragic accident in Alexandria, Egypt. Cassiopeia is determined to carry on the legacy of her father’s research, hoping for proof of his theory that beings from the outer planets visited Earth in the Bronze Age. A lively public speaker for someone generally so timid, her lectures at Oxford have gathered international notoriety.
THE SCIENTIST: Dr. Manwar Singh, former army surgeon, now a leading researcher into reanimation and synthetic life. One of the most brilliant minds of his age, but denied the recognition he feels to be his due on account of either his South Asian origins or the morally questionable nature of his work. Seeking to prove himself through a dramatic creation, or through new insights into the nature of life itself. His reputation particularly suffered from widespread rumors that his laboratory pet is not in fact a reanimated mummified cat but merely a bandage-wrapped stray.
THE SOLDIER: Major (Retired) The Honourable E.V.L. (Victor) Mainwaring, younger son of Viscount Lonsdale. Maj. Mainwaring served with distinction in The Royal Sussex Regiment (The Iron Regiment). Emotionally and physically scarred by the Regiment’s disastrous Nile Expedition, which arrived too late to prevent a massacre of the British garrison in Khartoum. Mainwaring was injured in the battle: despite being fitted with a brass Dynamic Ocular Prothesis Enhancement, he was mustered out as disabled. Lately, he seems determined to drink and brawl his way through both his pension and his inheritance.
THE ARCHAEOLOGIST: Mikawa Tatsu, Head of Egyptian Acquisitions for the Imperial Kyoto Museum, Japan. Rumors abound around Miss Mikawa: that she is a “personal favorite” of the Emperor, that the best pieces she acquires never reach the Imperial Museum, but are sold to collectors for vast sums to finance the purchase of her own hidden palace, that her dealings with the global criminal underworld go far beyond artworks. Or that she has a secret ninja army at her beck and call. Of course, she is no more than a mild-mannered, if incredibly successful, museum worker!
The Quandry Chronicles Book One: The Lost Scarab of the Aethernauts! is an illustrated pulp adventure inspired by the tabletop gaming system Space: 1889 and shot in Second Life. Narrated in sessions like a tabletop campaign, QC will post weekly on Fridays, unless I get a bit ahead of myself :)
Dr. Kanwar Singh rubbed his eyes. His vision had darkened mysteriously, accompanied by fatigue and lightheadedness. As he catalogued a range of possible medical causes for his afflictions, he leaned back from his microscope. Oh – the sun had set, that was why. He glanced at the brass clock on his cluttered desk. Some eight hours ago, it seemed. He had last eaten – lunch, surely? A glance around revealed a tea tray with the remains of breakfast. Oh well.
Another fruitless day’s research. He addressed the small brain floating in a jar of electrified liquid on a nearby shelf with a long, pained sigh. “Sekhmet dear, we are at an end. My success with you seems to have been a fluke, and every attempt to reanimate another mummy has been a dismal failure. Our electricity bill – well, I will pay it somehow, I promise. We *will* sustain your unlife, at any cost.”
A bundle of sooty linen rags mewed, rose, stretched, and padded over to him to rub its cat-shaped head against his leg. Singh reached down to idly skritch the mummified cat’s well-wrapped ears. Singh spun up a small electrostatic generator on his desk, then touched a finger to the ex-cat’s lips, with a zap and sting of a spark. The little mummy purred contentedly, filled again with the energies sustaining its reanimation.
Singh stretched, vertebrae popping. A large pile of unopened mail caught his eye, and he sighed. “No good here, I’m sure!” Bills, bills, past-due bills, death threats, a Bible wrapped in death threats – an invitation? No one invited him to anything anymore: both the successes and the failures of his research had put an end to his welcome in professional circles.

A covering note came unclipped and wafted down to the desk before him.
“My dear Doctor Singh:
“While we have not met, I have followed your work with the greatest interest and enthusiasm. I would beg you to be my guest at tomorrow’s reception- and when an opportunity permits, join me at a somewhat clandestine gathering in the Aeronautical Pavilion of the Crystal Palace. I am seeking experts in certain fields for an undertaking which promises to be profoundly rewarding, both intellectually and financially, and such a gathering would be incomplete without your presence.

It was said that a rogue demon had been ravaging the temple on the far end of the woods outside of the capital; taking lives of the monks and priests who lived there. The monks and priests just couldn't figure out who it was so they sent for help. That help was me.
I arrived the night I got my orders and took in the appearance of the temple. It was old and who knew what kind of entities lived here? But I am good at what I do and it didn't take me very long to find the tainted one among them. There were whispers of orange, glowing demonic eyes coming from the shadows. All night I hunted it down and finally, as the dawn began to break, I found my target.
The sound of an angry scream could be heard echoing the halls of the temple as one of the priests fell to the floor to his knees, blood pooling from the wound to his stomach where I'd managed to strike. This priest was no priest at all and it became evident as it began to lose its human form. Its demonic, tipped ears and piercings revealed itself as the orange glow of its eyes began to fade. It fell forward, squishing in its own blood upon the floor as it finally lay dead and unmoving.
I stared, cross in my left hand and bloodied knife in my right. I wanted to make sure it wasn't going reanimate itself somehow. Once I was sure of its death, I took a clean handkerchief and began to clean the blood from my blade, watching as blood began to gather and pool below the body. That creature got its just desserts.
Appear, bestow me with your filth

And spread over the seas
