The Palm Reader is based on the oracles from Sophocles' "Oedipus the King". In my adaptation of the play, the Palm Reader predicts that Eddie/Oedipus will kill his father and marry his mother.

Tsukiyomi Shrine to the God of the Moon. It was here, as I clapped, that I worked out in an intellectual sort of way, the answer to the famous Zen koan "what is the sound of one hand clapping," which is a mistranslation of (listen to) "your other hands voice", possibly because I had been watching David Bowie's "Blue Jean" video which I think suggests that Bowie knew the answer. Towards the end of the video Screaming Lord Byron (Bowie on stage), Vic (Bowie in the audience) and "The dream" (the girl) all touch their ears, and clap with one hand (using the so called Beatnik applause, the definition of which is strangely appropriate to the video) but Screaming Lord Byron alone sees his chauffeur put up a hand with five out stretched fingers to which Bowie, as Screaming, nodds knowingly. I think that this is the answer to the Zen Koan. But why is it the answer? I don't think tha these riddles are meant to be answered.
