On Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author Matthew Desmond visited Rutgers University–Camden for a day of activities culminating with a free, public lecture. During his visit, Desmond discussed research and topics from his book, "Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City," which was the 2019 Rutgers Reads selection. Before the lecture, Desmond led a workshop for social services agency staff, social justice attorneys, and court officials supporting people facing housing insecurity and exploring policy fixes.
Nothing like a warm coffee and a good book on a cold day to while away some idle time.
I recommend this book if you're looking for something a little different to shoot. I refer to it frequently.
Now this little guy is no ordinary teddy bear. My mom gave him to me when she was going in for surgery. At the time, I was so young and didnt realize that she was going in for whipple surgery, which is for pancreatic cancer. the chances of me ever seeing her were pretty much nothing. so she gave me him, and told me to hug him whenever I missed her. :) <3
