Read Aloud Family Day was a collaboration event with LibroMobile a bookstore in Downtown Santa Ana. We had 3 bilingual authors come out and read aloud to the families with children. After, the book reading they autograph the books. Our community read the 4th author book that was not able to make it. We provided over 200 books to the families that attended the event. There was also pan dulce and aguas frescas. The importance of this event is to encourage parents and caregivers to read aloud to their children by taking a book home.

My daughter, Eva, is learning to read. She plays with me "words". I write words and she spells them slowly. When she finishes to reproduce the sound of each letter, she is aware of the word immediately and thus the word is revealed for her for the first time. When she listens to herself, their eyes get bigger and the world appears with indescribable happiness. Sometimes she reads the first letters and tries to decipher the possible word before finishing. That is called to read by me, Eva denominates it to guess.
