Governor Moore Visits Eastern Elementary School for Read Across America by Patrick Siebert at 1320 Yale Dr, Hagerstown, MD 21742

Since I started taking pictures at the beginning of Digital Photography class, I have discovered the types of themes and topics I enjoy taking pictures of. Color and lighting play a large role in my pictures. I usually use neutral or basic colors, and neon colors don’t appear very often in my work. I also like to use dark tints for some of my pictures. My pictures hardly ever have medium lighting – there are either sharp differences between brightly lit areas and shadows, or the whole picture has a dark, mysterious tone. My favorite types of pictures are macro close ups and portraits, but the topics may be completely random. I also like to draw, and this may have contributed to my tendency to look for small detail. Although I have been taking photos for only one semester, in 2010 I took an Art I class at St. Joseph Academy, which prepared me and helped enhance my work in Digital Photography.

I view photography as a way to improve the way one sees the world, even without their camera at hand. (It annoys me very much when I see something I want to photograph and I have no camera with me.) Noticing the small details is an important part of photography for me, especially in close up pictures. When I work on a photography project, I like to do it all at once (so I don't lose focus). I don’t often space the work out unless it is a project with distinctly separate parts. There are often times when I don’t plan on taking a picture, but perfect circumstances require me to take out my camera. When a good yet unexpected opportunity presents itself, like a beautiful sunset, I take it.

Self-Portrait – In my self-portrait, I used neutral colors (such as the tan wall and soft colors of the chair) and there is sharp light coming from the top left corner. It reflects my philosophy of taking pictures in series, since I took this one a short time before the alter ego. It represents what most people see of me – calm and quiet (and usually reading). Most people also see me in my school uniform, so I decided to wear it in the picture. Also, I let my bangs down for this picture, which is how I usually wear them. The book also covers part of my face, adding a “shy” effect.

Book Summary: Love, Pamela

To live and dream is a wicked dance. My dreams often come true -- a curse, and a blessing.Pamela Anderson's blond bombshell image was ubiquitous in the 1990s. Discovered in the stands during a Canadian football game, she was quickly launched into superstardom, becoming Playboy's favorite cover girl and an emblem of Hollywood glamour and sex appeal. Yet the Pamela Anderson we think we know was created through happenstance rather than careful cultivation. Love, Pamela brings forth her true story: that of a small-town girl getting tangled up in her own dream.Growing up on Vancouver Island, the daughter of young, wild, and unwittingly stylish parents, Pamela lived a hardscrabble childhood but developed a deep love for nature, populating her world with misfits, apparitional friends, and injured animals. Eventually overcoming her natural shyness, Pamela's restless imagination propelled her into a life few can dream of, from the beaches of Malibu to the coveted scene at the Playboy Mansion.

February 2016 ~ Library Lovers' Month

Norman West showcased the various therapy dogs children can read to at the library.

The Northgate Branch kicked off the Make.Play.Read.Learn. Summer @ChattLibrary program with a visit from Chief Meteorologist Patrick Core. He taught us about the weather and the atmosphere and how to be safe during tornados. We had loads of fun making buttons and friendship bracelets while all the kids got signed up for creative challenges at the library this summer.

Thursday.

The kids had some sort of assembly the other day with The Cat In The Hat. I think the assembly was about reading. The details I've gotten from the kids are sketchy. Also it appears that they were asked to draw the cover of their favorite Dr. Seuss book? This is E.'s. He is a lot like his mother.

The wide open expanse of land in this area was known to travelers in the 19th Century as an accessible route to and from the Trinity River. A landmark of the early landscape in Houston County, the prairie became known as Read's Opening after Robert Newton and Susan Asbury Moore Read moved here from Arkansas by 1850. The family established their farm at the opening and began to purchase other land in the area. R. N. Read also took ownership of several commercial operations in Crockett, including a mercantile business that his son later moved to Lovelady, and donated land for an African American Presbyterian church east of Crockett. The Reads moved to Mineola in 1876, but their legacy continues to be a part of Houston County history. (2002) (Marker No. 12669)

If you DON'T LIKE RECAST then you shall be careful with this doll. The artist put the beautiful head she made on a RECASTED modified body made originally by Kinoko Juice.

She sell the dolls on this page as her own design.

I just love the head but a artist who recast another artist is little to much even for me.

So now I can't buy this beautiful doll and I'm very sad.
