Yay! Finally! They're baaaaack! This is a male flying over to a female - they mated and I watched (!) 6.5 fps and it happened in only 2 of the frames. Poor Mrs. Osprey...
I'm heading over to NJ today and over to the Statue of Liberty. I haven't been there since I got my camera and I'm looking forward to it.

There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One, to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other, to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days, staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow, a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left, I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left, how many times did I depend too much on her, doubt her, envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However, I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me, a guy filled with ambiguous, unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

the photos presented here were taken on the occasion of two weddings,
observing with an external but participatory eye, the great event that is created outside the churches before and after the religious wedding ceremonies, due to the presence of friends, relatives, parents (and, as a side dish, also curious and tourists, in fact there we find in Taormina) .... all wearing the best smile (now covered by masks), and the best dress, women exhibit original or showy hairstyles, grateful for some jewels, while men show off ties and socks sometimes too short, wearing polished shoes. The two religious ceremonies took place a few days apart from each other, before the decree of the President of the Council of Ministers of 24/10/2020, one in the church of San Giuseppe, the other in the Basilica Minore (ex Duomo), both from Taormina (Sicily).
The photos unfold presenting sometimes a temporal succession of the same marriage, other times from one ceremony to another; I used a photographic technique at the time of shooting, which in addition to capturing the surrounding space, also "inserted" a temporal dimension: in fact, most of the photos are confused-blurry-blurred-imprecise-indecisive ... the Anglo-Saxon term that encompasses with a single word this photographic genre is "blur", these photos were made in the shooting phase, deliberately lengthening the exposure, and not as an effect created subsequently, in retrospect, in the post-production phase.

le foto qui presentate sono state colte in occasione di due matrimoni, osservando con occhio esterno ma partecipe, la grande kermesse che si viene a creare fuori dalle chiese prima e dopo le cerimonie religiose nuziali, per la presenza di amici, parenti, genitori (e, a far da contorno, anche curiosi e turisti, infatti ci troviamo a Taormina)....indossando tutti il migliore sorriso (coperto oramai dalle mascherine), ed il migliore abito, le donne esibiscono acconciature originali o vistose, ingraziosite di qualche gioiello, mentre gli uomini sfoggiano cravatte e calzini a volte troppo corti , calzando scarpe tirate a lucido. Le due cerimonie religiose si sono svolte a pochi giorni di distanza l'una dall'altra, prima del DPCM del 24/10/2020, una nella chiesa di San Giuseppe, l'altra nella Basilica Minore (ex Duomo), entrambe di Taormina (Sicilia); le foto si dipanano presentando a volte una successione temporale dello stesso matrimonio, altre volte da una cerimonia si passa all'altra; ho utilizzato una tecnica fotografica al momento dello scatto, che oltre ad aver catturato lo spazio circostante, ha anche "inserito" una dimensione temporale: infatti, la maggior parte delle foto sono confuse-mosse-sfocate-imprecise-indecise...il termine anglosassone che racchiude con una sola parola questo genere fotografico è "blur", queste foto sono state così realizzate in fase di scatto allungando volutamente i tempi di esposizione, e non come un effetto creato successivamente, a posteriori, in fase di post-produzione.

I'm back from a looong hiatus! ;)
I finally set up my first dolly house last weekend.....Yotsuba's room. (I still don't have B's to take care of, heehee! Y is lower maintenance.....you just change hands & heads, no colors to match, no preppy accessories to worry about.)
Thing is, my fingers keep on hitting stuff and I keep on dropping parts! By sundown, I was all set to take photos, but I've lost my lovely, all natural, daylight. So I have to contend with my OTT light (shameless plug! And thanks to Ms. dorothyalice213's "Dot's OTT" inspiration! I bought it at 50% off btw ;P).
I put together Y's favorite things. Her own collection of mini-dollhouses. She's not an obvious Hello Kitty collector, isn't it? And my oh my, her bag preferences are fabulous but well beyond her age, and means! Girl, how much is your weekly allowance?!!!
The room's her own wonder land. But mommy put a scary reminder by the door to always keep her room tidy. HA!
Last week an eagerly anticipated delivery arrived, a set of Kryptonics Red 70mm in the smooth and fast 78a compound. I've have not seen nor ridden these iconic wheels since the late 70's when I remember pressing my face against the window and glass display counter of Surrey Skateboards ! These landmark wheels revolutionised skateboarding in the mid 70's and dominated the competition scene. It was said that some pro's opted to ride them in private as opposed to their sponsors provided wheels in front of the media. As it says on the tin "glides like butter on any surface". Primed with Bones bearings and bolted to Independent Trucks on a 36" Sims Pure Juice oak deck for that ultimate retro ride. The re-issue of these superb wheels will make a whole lot of old school skaters very happy and I can confirm that they sure go like stink and do not disappoint ! This double exposure has taken the best part of a week to get right and could not have been accomplished without the help of my cool young son. This piece puts a grin on my face almost as much as the revamped board does when I ride it !

Bristol's have never really featured in the Network buses (or predecessors fleets) to any great extent.
This RE is crammed with junk but remains in sound overall condition, if a little tatty.
It was acquired several years ago and worked as a school bus and later a spare vehicle. Its not clear why it was moved to this corner of the yard, having rested for several years now on grass at the bottom of the depot - perhaps some restoration is planned?
Sitting in front of it are several defunct bus engines.
My husband and I finally put up the mini shelves we got for my mini collection. It's a great place to put them. This is by the stairs.
