*Was driving home from grocery shopping for Christmas and saw this - amazing right? I think this is the way Earth celebrates Christmas :)...

Enjoy the sunset

Sorry to post and run, will try to catch up later...2 more days to Christmas!!! yay!!!

One more of the 'RUT' in Bedford's Park -- i held it back as the RAW file converted to JPeg had burned out nose in FastStone so I tried it in PhotoShop CC 2015 Edition and the contrast was better -- did an A4 print of this for my Club.

Squeesing and pushing every bit of an underexposed (-2 EV) Raw file!

This picture was meant to be the third shot for an HDR file. Unfortunately the three pictures were not perfectly aligned (no tripod). But before deleting the picture series I decided to play with the GND (graduated neutral density filter) in lightroom. I started by applying a -1/3 EV GND mask to the sky, and a +2EV mask to the rest of the picture. The first attempt, even if not perfect in particular througout the transition between trees and sky, looked already more than promising and pushed me to convert the raw in tiff16bit and to repeat the same operation in PS CS4, that in contrast to Lr provides more latitute and control on the mask definition. And this is the results. Basically I have squeezed the 10 EV of a RAW file in the 8EV of a jpeg.

What surprised me was the huge latitude in pushing the shadows without having to deal with cromance or luminance noise. So if your scene have a strong luminace contrast (10-11EV max) and you want to reduce the risk to burn the highlights, simply expose correctly for the highlights and try to recover the shadows detail in CS4. Furthermore this approach allows firstly to remove the risk of having moving objects (like the tree leaves) and secondly to increase the shutters speed of 2EV, so bye bye dammed tripod! The only precautions are to assure yourself that the scene doesn't exceed the dynamic range of your camera RAW (usually 10-12EV) through the spot exposure meter and to shoot with low ISO sensitivities (100-200).

trying to get this Flicker on a tree proved to be next to impossible...so I watched it fly to the ground and circled around and tried to sneak up behind a tree trunk, as I brought my camera around taking pictures, hoping he would make his way to the sunlight and he didn't...impatiently I did the next best thing...I stepped out into the open!

Un lugar que invita a la calma, donde aún es posible hablar y escuchar al mismo tiempo.

Národní třída is one of the important avenues in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic.

It is placed on the boundary of New Town and Old Town, in the southwest direction from the centre of the city. This avenue connects Most legií bridge with Jungmannovo náměstí. In medieval times, there were fortification walls.

On Friday November 17, 1989, riot police violently suppressed here a peaceful student demonstration, which is thought as the initiation of Velvet Revolution. Národní Třída continued to be an eventful locale during the rest of the Revolution.

Jindrisska Tower (Jindrisska Vez) in Prague dates from the late Gothic era. It was constructed in 1472–1476, although has had several rebuilds and alterations since.

Following a major fire in 1745, Jindrisska was rebuilt in the Baroque style. Then, in the 1870s it was reconverted back to the Gothic style by the famous architect Mocker.

Finally, in 2002 extensive reconstruction transformed Jindrisska into a wonderful multi-level attraction. Jindrisska is the highest separate belfry in Prague at 66m high and now has ten floors.

The Ponte Pietra (Italian for "Stone Bridge"), once known as the Pons Marmoreus, is a Roman arch bridge crossing the Adige River in Verona, Italy. The bridge was completed in 100 BC, and the Via Postumia from Genua to the Brenner Pass passed over it.

It originally flanked another Roman bridge, the Pons Postumius; both structures provided the city (on the right bank) with access to the Roman theatre on the east bank. The arch nearest to the right bank of the Adige was rebuilt in 1298 by Alberto I della Scala. Four arches of the bridge were blown up by retreating German troops in World War II, but rebuilt in 1957 with original materials.

In this stunning building, the MAS tells a largely untold story about Antwerp in the world. And about the world in Antwerp. But there is more...

The focus of the story is the long history of trade and cultural exchange between the city and the world. Stories about the city, the river and the port. About the world in all its diversity. About Antwerp’s age-old links with the world. This combination is what makes the MAS unique: it is ‘Antwerpian’ and it is global.

The graffiti-coated John Lennon Wall. After his murder in 1980, Lennon became a pacifist hero for many of the young Czechs living under Gustáv Husák’s communist regime. An image of Lennon was painted on the wall, along with Beatles’ lyrics and political graffiti. The police would whitewash the wall, only to have their efforts foiled as graffiti would always reappear. As you can tell by the idling spray cans, it’s still in use today, although mostly as a canvas for artists or tourists, it seems.
