Tacos with non-fried Beans, Guacamole, Sour Cream
This didn't turn out all that well. There are definitely obvious problems when looking closely at the image. I tried to achieve the polarized effect in post because I didn't shoot this with one. I now realize that can nip you in the rear when editing. I hope to be able to start shooting some much better black and white images soon.

4/100 for the 100 strangers project.
I saw this gentleman the other night. I loved his shirt and wished I had my camera so I could meet him for this project. Today my husband picked me up for a date and with a big grin said. "I have a surprise for you." We pull around the corner and there he is! He handed me the camera and just smiled. Sometimes romance is understanding flickr.
This is Kurt. He is my 4th stranger. He is one of the many homeless in my city. He grew up here in Pasadena and has never lived anywhere else. When he was working, he was a house painter. We talked for a long time about the homelessness in our fair city. While I do not believe the City of Pasadena takes care of their homeless, I know the people of Pasadena do. They are not the untouchables or ignorable.
His shirt is so funny. On the front it says, "That's Mr. Bum to you!" On the back it reads, "Where's Mrs. Bum?"
After I took a few photos, we drove off. I am still so sad about leaving him there. Every piece of my Sicilian self wants to give him a warm meal. I think, tomorrow, I will.
Can one of your 100 Strangers become a friend? I hope so.
Lesson learned from this stranger: Homeless people want someone to listen to them too.
We’ve been getting raw milk (also called Real Milk) from a local farm for a few years. Actually I should say that we’ve been getting raw milk from our cow for a few years. The sale of raw milk is illegal in Ohio, so we participate in what’s called a “Herd Share” program. We bought a cow and we pay the farmer’s to take care of it for us. It’s legal to drink raw milk if it comes from your own cow. This milk is as fresh as you can get, we pick it up the day after it’s milked, it’s unpasteurized and unhomogenized. Since it’s not homogenized the cream rises to the top, it’s also called cream line milk. We make butter every week from our raw milk. It's a fun process and it saves me lots of money. I get about a pound and a half of butter each week.
