My final attempt for a rapeseed dawn shot,none event really.Added a slight texture to the sky to mask some horrible looking lines that appeared on every shot.
Wegen Bauarbeiten in Essen pendelten im Mai 2018 einige 420er im Inselbetrieb auf der S1 zwischen Dortmund und Essen-Steele. Hier am frühen Abend zwischen Wattenscheid-Höntrop und der Stadtgrenze vor Essen-Eiberg.
1.) Rapeseed in Bochum
Due to construction work in Essen, some 420s commuted in island operation on the S1 between Dortmund and Essen-Steele in May 2018. Here in the early evening between Wattenscheid-Höntrop and the city limits in front of Essen-Eiberg.
Looking across a rapeseed field to Barling Road on a vey windy but clear afternoon.
I used a Lee Pro Glass 0.9 ND filter in conjunction with a Lee 0.75 ND Graduated soft filter.
I waited several years for this field to be planted with yellow oilseed-rape. The colours and quality of light on this late afternoon in spring were exceptional and the sky developed into one of the best I had seen. The layers of cloud began to darken, distant rain was visible and the occasional rumble of thunder broke the silence. All whilst the sun was emerging and disappearing into cloud, contrasting light and shadow across the field.

Although the sun was behind the horizon, the bright yellow rapeseed flowers were visible for a long time after sunset.
It was hard to get this right, so I had to raise the shadows in this photograph quite a bit.....
