While BYU remains one of the safest college campuses in the country, a stern warning remains for people considering taking the shortcut back to their student apartment at night. It reminds us that rules are often for our own protection.

Having spied this place (many times) during the course of the working week finally decided to go and have a look… it was an easy hop over the fence and a breeze to walk into….but what a disappointment ! the place has been raped ! well and truly raped…every bit of cable gone, all the pipework removed. It was just a shell!
Forget my tripod also so ramped up the ISO for some handheld shots…processed the pics to make them look vaguely interesting!
Clearly the neighbours were asleep as this place is overlooked by loads of housing and no-one batted an eyelid when we vaulted back over the fence on the way out…

Out and about in Cheshire and spotted a fantastic rape seed field in full colour so couldn't resist.
Rape is forced, unwanted sexual intercourse. Rape is about power, not sex. Thousands of women, and surprisingly men, each day are getting raped and are not reporting it.
Rape of the sabine women
The young city of Rome had granted citizenship to criminals and lawless persons to grow quickly, and was therefore winning the wars againgst its neighbours, but a lack of women made it clear that the greatness of the city would vane in a generation or two due to lack of male offspring.
The neighbouring town scorned at Roman requests to marry their women, but accepted an invitation to a huge religious celebration in honour of Neptun. In the middle of the party, the Romans rushed in and abducted the Sabine women, who were the forced to marry their rapists.
The Sabines were horrified at this open breach of the rules of hospitality, and went home to prepare for war. When they later returned in arms to take back their women by force, the Sabine women had reconciled with their now husbonds, and stopped the commencing battle before it started by placing themselves inbetween the two battleready groups.
The Romans and the Sabines were reconciled and the city of Rome could continue on the path to greatness.
I'd noticed some fields of Rape flowers near the house. Referring to the OS map I worked out how to get there without having a farmer chasing me with a shotgun yelling 'Get orff my land!' and got the bike out. A short while later I found myself on a public bridleway adjacent to the sea of yellow and set about capturing it. Spring wouldn't be spring without the yellow splashes of colour across the countryside, though I must admit I thought I'd missed it this year, it being so late in May.
The only way to get it all in in one shot was a panorama. Out with the nodal slide then, slap on an ND grad filter, take an exposure reading, set to manual, camera in portrait orientation, check the tripod's dead level and away we go with a sequence of eleven shots to be stitched together later. Sheesh, would have been much easier with an iPhone.
