I preface this complaint with the understanding that people deal with far more taxing problems than this... Nonetheless, I feel compelled to rant... We thought we were being smart patching our cracked composite kitchen sink with marine fiberglass, since the model has been discontinued by the manufacturer and nothing else would fit the cutout in our granite counter top... Darren spent the past two days patching it, waiting for it to dry and and re-installing the plumbing... Eager to clean up the backlog of dishes, I just turned on the water in the sink... AND... guess what? The sink cracked down the SAME spot! New kitchen counter tops were not part of the homeowner's agenda plan, nor does it jive with my schedule! I want to cry... and in fact, I think it might help... boo-hoo!

Seriously - how the fuck can NatEx justify charging £1.50 for a text message?

Sigh.

The scruffy oik. I endure another rant about the BBC and the awfulness of it all. Leave! Move on!

I hate so much some of the choices Canon made with the RF lens mount.

First and foremost, they made it so the rear lens caps are radially assymetric. You have to align the line with the dot to put the lens cap on. I change lenses a lot, and no other modern lens mount does that. It is SO INFURIATING. I've made my own little RF rear cap design and 3D printed it and it's a lot better, but the design of the mount means it can never be perfect.

The other thing is they put an extra control ring on SOME but not ALL of the lenses. So if you regularly use some that have it and some that don't, you can never really let yourself get the muscle memory to use it. It'll trip you up any time you swap to the other type.

Next, there's no longer an auto/manual focus switch on SOME but not ALL lenses. In addition to the above complaint about consistency and muscle memory, there's also the issue that it's now more of a hassle to switch to manual focus mode when I need to. I can't rely on just flipping a switch that's in the same place on every lens; I had to use one of my precious programmable buttons on the camera to switch between AF and MF modes, and it DOESN'T EVEN FUCKING WORK on lenses that DO have an AF/MF switch. And the reason they did it that way is so the lenses that don't have a separate control ring can use the manual focus ring as a control ring. They took away a feature I use constantly to support a feature I don't want. In theory, Canon could fix this one in software.

Anyway. Angy.
