I decided to take my camera with me to the range i was covering for 1 Army Air Corp, 661 Squadron!

This was my first time ever attempting military photography and to make it that little bit more of a learning curve it was also my first time at aircraft photography!

Inspired by the first generation of Range Rover Sport series. To be honest, I'm not really proud of my MOC, because of the inaccurate proportions... Maybe it would look better in black.

I bought this model a few days ago, it arrived today. It runs very well.

Mt Ritter and Banner Peak dominate the skyline in the Ansel Adams Wilderness west of Mammoth Lakes, California. Viewpoint was on the descent from Iceberg Lake and Cecile Lake.

Quick reminder that I have a new ambience video of this area on the Geographic Artistry channel. The second half takes you up the stream to the waterfall, then continues above timberline up to the glaciers at the foot of the mountains. Then it turns right behind that granite knob to fields of alpine wildflowers and down to Nydiver Lakes. Here's the link to that part:

This viewpoint is at ~265 m asl on the eastern side of the Vale of Clwyd, a short distance below the huge summit hillfort of Penycloddiau. This section of the Clwydian Way is a favourite family walk, typically offering good views over Denbigh (the western edge of which is at the lower left, 7½ km away, with Denbigh Quarry to the right) and western side of the Vale; the hill in the middle of the image is Moel Tywysog, with a trig. pillar just visible on its 400 m summit, 14 km from here.

However, that's usually the extent of the mid-afternoon view, with the distant peaks of Snowdonia rarely being more than a silhouette in haze – this is exceptional.

Starting from the left of the background, Pen Llithrig y Wrach (799 m) is 41 km from here, rising from Llyn Cowlyd. To its right (below the skyline) is Pen yr Helgi Du (833 m), 43 km away.

That ridge continues right to the popular climbing amphitheatre of Craig yr Ysfa at the head of Cwm Eigiau then, with greater snow cover, on to Carnedd Llywelyn (1,064 m, 44 km away), the highest of the Carneddau and second highest summit in Wales by prominence (750 m).

From there, a ridge curves left to Wales' fourth highest summit, Carnedd Dafydd (1,044 m, 46 km away) then on to Pen yr Ole Wen (978 m), 47¼ km away on the skyline behind and to the right of Pen Llithrig y Wrach and overlooking the head of the Ogwen Pass.

The only landmark not linked by these ridges is the dark cliff in front of Carnedd Llewelyn, at the right of the image. That's Craig Eigiau, 41 km from here, unsurprisingly overlooking Llyn Eigiau.

(march) photography event, in Winnemucca, Nevada.

The wind was howling and it was in the mid 20's.

This is one from my "Get out of the car, (but leave the engine running)" series.

Within a few yards of the partially snow covered dirt and gravel road leading to the top. A large snow bank prevented me from reaching the telecommunication towers on top.

Following the Zhi-chu River upstream to its source in the Drida Zellmogang range. This is the name given to the highland region forming a watershed between the upper Dri chu འབྲི་ཆུ་ (Yangtze) and the upper Nyag chu ཉག་ཆུ་ (Yalong). En route it passes through Khorlomdo and Rida, where there are small Sakyapa monasteries, and the Kasado gorge.

Khorlomdo, 28 km from Derge Gonchen, has an old copper image of Jowo Shakyamuni in its assembly hall, which is now maintained by some 50 monks. Two 3-4 day trekking routes lead from Khorlomdo to Dzogchen Monastery, crossing the Trola Range (Chola Range) via Henak La pass (4950 m) and via Le La pass (4390 m). The former passes in close proximity to Mount Dorje Ziltrom (5816 m), which is one of the highest peaks of the Trola Range (Chola Range). The latter, which is the old trade route to Dzachuka, passes through Galen Gonpa (3700 m), the seat of Namkhai Norbu, who resides in Italy and has established an international network of centres, know collectively as the Dzogchen Community.

I can remember one of these in the front room of my grandparents cottage still in use right up to the end of the 1950's.

Just like in the photograph there was always a kettle on the stove with hot water in it.

Lydd Ranges is a military firing range south of Lydd, in Kent, England. It extends as far as the coast.

It has been used for military training for over 150 years and is part of the Dungeness, Romney Marsh and Rye Bay Site of Special Scientific Interest. Because the range is used for live firing, access is sometimes restricted - red flags are flown during these times, and access is prohibited along the foreshore and Galloways Road. Also, red lights are shown at restricted times if there is poor weather. The danger area extends out to sea, and mariners sailing to and from Rye Harbour must pass south of the Stephenson Shoal to avoid it. Firing occurs about 300 days a year. When firing is not taking place, it may be possible to walk along a designated path along the shore.

There is a 2 ft (610 mm) narrow gauge railway on the range. It is principally a target railway, although it also carries personnel and equipment around the facility.

This photo was taken looking towards Cannon Mountain from Franconia New Hampshire.

Namunukula Mountain Range

Namunukula

Mountain range in Sri Lanka

Namunukula is the name of a mountain range in Sri Lanka's province of Uva. Its main peak is 2,035 metres high. The name means "Nine Peaks". It also the name of a town near it which is sometimes called Namunukula Town.

I was just up in Whistler, Canada last week and it was a pretty awesome place. When I went to Yosemite a couple years ago I thought of it as an outdoor Disneyland. Well Whistler seemed more of an outdoor Disney World. Tons of biking, climbing, hiking, and rafting. Pretty much anything outdoors you’d like to do they have it. Check it out if you get a chance. Winter or Summer you won’t be disappointed. This photo is of the Fitzimmons Mountain Range with the Overlord Glacier on the right.

Brooklands New Years Day Car Show 2023

I see this almost daily, but until now didn't get a photo. I have no idea what this is used for, but it doesn't look so original any more!

This is a highly sought after early Range Rover first generation- I think they were launched on the H reg. I wonder when these modifications were made to it, I imagine quite a long time ago when they weren't so valuable as today. It looks like it's used or was used for serious off road purposes, looking at the roll cage (?) and two spare wheels at the back!

It's had the same owner since 1989, which is nice to see. I bet this drives like a tank! But any three door is great to see these days, especially not a show queen. The wheels on the back look like originals, whereas the ones it's wearing look like later model wheels.
