Li'l Jackrabbit by the Salvia

One of the most iconic formations around Sedona, Courthouse Butte reaches an elevation of 5,454' - though, it is only about 1,000' above its surroundings.

A prominent geologic feature in the Coconino National Forest, this butte is very accessible for hikers with well-marked trails, and nearby parking. And, yet, as it appears here, the nature is relatively pristine and seemingly remote.

In fact, from this vantage, atop Baby Bell near sunset during Spring Break - one of the most popular times to visit Sedona, there were no people to be seen, and there is no ground or city lighting in the vicinity to interfere with the evening or night skies.

Sedona is a great place for people who want to commune with nature, take photographs, hike, or go off-roading. If you haven’t already been, I highly recommend taking a trip to visit Sedona and the surrounding area.

Juxaposition or People and Posters

This is a collection of Graffiti or Posters, some with, some without ‘The Human Being’. I have photographed these images over a long period of time from all over the place. There is also some awesome graffiti out there and all I have done is to record it. To the artists I take my hat off to you and have much regret when your work is vandalised. To the poster makers and poster stickers, keep up the good work. To the people, all I say is, just keep on moving around.

A baby rabbit stopped for a moment and looked at the camera before bounding off in search of food.

Street in Bruges (2015)

My 24mm T/S broke (tilt knob came off, repair part is coming from Japan in 4 weeks). So I'm back to exploring the usual suspects until I get the lens fixed. I haven't tried too many high-key seascapes so I'm interested in what everyone has to say about this one.

All comments, critiques and feedback both positive and negative welcome.

This flower was photographed in our garden.

Lighting stuff: Lit with one Yongnuo manual flash in an 8.6 inch Lastolite soft box on a light stand at camera right. Fill light is from a hand held mirror at camera left. My camera and the flash were triggered with a Yongnuo RF-603N.

Other plants, flowers, fruit or thingys that I've photographed using strobes can be seen in my Strobe Lit Plant set. For each image in the set, and there are over 1800 of them, I describe how I set up the lighting for that particular shot. www.flickr.com/photos/9422878@N08/sets/72157628079460544/

Other pictures that I've taken of Birds of Paradise flowers can be seen in my creatively titled Birds of Paradise album, and there are almost 100 of them.

....and now, a touch of colour! :P

Yeah, that's what they call this formation in the Organ Mountains of New Mexico-- not my creation :). But you can see them, right?

Very first light of sunrise, and unforgettable as the rocks began glowing red. Another memorable occurrence just hours before taking this shot, when a very loud mountain lion passed through the camping area. My friend and I had taken note of a posted sign when filling out our paperwork: "be cautious hiking late evening and early morning, there have been mtn lion sightings." Well, around 4am the unmistakable sound of a screaming cat approached closer and closer, until I'd estimate it was walking in the road right by our tents, maybe 30 feet away. L.O.U.D. I was mightily torn about whether to exit the tent and put the flashlight to it... decided against it, but now wish that I had. After packing up camp, we saw a large rattlesnake on the way out. Great bit of genuine wilderness experience as a prelude to White Sands!

I don't think it was the Easter bunny, I didn't see a basket full of eggs and chocolate.
