I'm sharing an artwork I made with anyone who might be interested. It is a poster with a quotation from Abraham Lincoln, inspired by the inimitable Maira Kalman on NYT.
In a way, this is my response to the Brits' "Keep Calm" poster sans their crown.
I hope that this little contribution will somehow inspire someone out there to keep on toiling and keep up the fight.
Armand.
The "Disentralled" poster was designed by Armand B. Frasco. The Flag Blue and Flag Red versions as well as the Blue and Red Top Hat versions are downloadable free at www.notebookism.com/2009/04/the-disenthralled-poster.html.

The photo is my own that I modified using ComicLife. I found the "Downton Abbey quotation in Entertainment Weekly.
I am decorating the Design Lab at school with inspirational quotations from various designers, and with various insights, large and small, that I've had about design. I'm not sure if I'm going to post any of these three — call them first drafts — because I'm not happy with the layout of them.
But I'm planning on saving them, because one should always save your mistakes for future endeavors unless they're good for nothing except clean fill.
"I love writing. I love the swirl and swing of words as they tangle with human emotions." James Michener
The image is my own, that I modified, and the quotation comes from a presentation I heard in December.

Every blade in the field,
Every leaf in the forest,
lays down its life in its season
as beautifully as it was taken up.

Wishing you comfort and peace.

A word I wrote for my patient and beloved wife on Valentine's day... Cherry blossoms are a reminder of life coming back to be shared with love.

(Quotation from Flaubert's Parrot, by Julian Barnes)
I'm hoping a 3 mile walk will be some form of damage limitation, but I don't hold out much hope.
So, another afternoon spent baking: cupcakes, cheese scones and fruit scones, for our after walk lunch tomorrow. A group of us who have got together all too rarely over the last few years have decided that about once a month we'll go for a walk together before heading back to one of our houses or a local pub for lunch. Tomorrow it's soup and cakes at ours after walking a section of the Tolkien Trail (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destinations/europe/uk/centralengland/739039/Sites-that-shaped-Tolkiens-Lord-of-the-Rings.html), and I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone.

NOTE:
Most of the above 160 Romanian women, in the best tradition of versatility, are true polymaths and therefore nearly each one of them falls in more than just one category, often three or more. This explains why adding the numbers of the 57 individual categories bears no relation to the actual total of the above 160 women included in Blouse Roumaine.
