Originally included on the CD “QuickClips” from Apple Computer, Inc. Converted from QuickTime file format to AVI, encoded with PNG, since ffmpeg doesn’t seem to copy the palette when copying the original (QuickTime Animation/RLE) palettized video data from the source file.

Mon 03.23.09 - Went offroading with Joe Hanen (on motorcycle), Joe Maxwell (on quad), Kyle Vestermark (Mr. Toad in the lead Tyrex), Cayden Vestermark (as Mole in the lead Tyrex), Christine Woods and I (in the following Tyrex). We went from Shea Road (Parker Speedway) to the Bill Williams and Planet Ranch and back in the Arizona Sonoran Desert.
It really was Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, even odder with me taking photos every 30 seconds with the Nokia N79. Photos exported into quicktime with iPhoto.
A video recording of the Macintosh emulator Basilisk II playing a QuickTime video from the 1992 CD “Apple Chronicles” from Apple Computer, Inc. This video uses the QuickTime Animation (RLE) codec, and it plays incorrectly in several non-Macintosh video players, such as VLC, MPlayer and mpv. It's raining, so I just shot the TV screen to test the X-T1's Continuous High drive mode. Handheld, of course. :)
Quicktime conversion deteriorated the picture quality, though. Drat!

My umpteenth vist to NY and only my first time to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. What a magnificent view of the architecture of the bridge and also Manhattan. In this clip, a section of the bridge undergoing renovation can be seen.
Timelapse taken on my Nikon D80 with Wayne's (http://www.flickr.com/people/29005492@N07/) timer. Each frame lovingly scaled to 1920x1080.

3 decent width web pages. Apple QuickTime trailer page, ESPN.com, and almost all of the WVU home page. On +one+ screen. The number one issue I have with this screen... it takes me a while to move the mouse around (need a bigger mousepad since my desk sucks) and it's an almost overwhelming amount of space. But I could get used to it ;) Already went back once to my 20 inch and 17 inch PC dual-monitor set-up and it felt soooo smallll.

Keep in mind that this has been transcoded twice...first I converted it from an AVI to Quicktime using VisualHub, then Flickr converted it to something else when it was uploaded. So it's going to look rougher than the original file.

This is the equirectangular image of a QuickTime Virtual Reality movie.

Although Chicago wasn't in Irene's path, we did see strong winds and waves along the shore. Lake Michigan is normally placid; the large waves we were seeing looked more like ocean waves.
It's a sunset, taken from the hills of Lom Linda, looking towards the Cajon Pass. It's made of around 300 individual photos, taken about 1 every 6 seconds, and stitched together at 15fps using Quicktime Pro. Because Nikon didn't see fit to equip the D90 with a real time-lapse feature in the firmware, I tethered my camera to Alyssa's hackintosh (a Dell mini9 running OSX) and controlled it with Nikon's Camera Control 2 software. A less than ideal solution, but one that seemed to work.
It's my first attempt at time-lapse photography, and I learned a few things. First, I need a better tripod. I'm not sure where the movement in the video came from - wind gusts, or my movements. But I think ether problem could be solved with a better tripod / head combination. I tried to run the video through iMovie's stabilization feature, but it was a no go. Second - I need to figure out a more smooth way to adjust the exposure. I started out at 1/2sec f/22.0 in the fading afternoon lighting, but was up to 6-seconds at f/18.0 by the end, trying to capture the nighttime scenery. I'm not sure if there's a way to adjust the exposure without the visible shift in the final movie. Any suggestions?
And fanally - the music: There's really no excuse for it. I'd just had Rhapsody in Blue playing in my head all day, so it seemed natural at the time.
A compilation of my best time lapse sequences into a short film called Manipulating Time run to the perfect song and contains clips from over two years of experience with time lapse photography.
Each clip was created from a folder of still frames using QuickTime Pro to produce high quality videos. Then the videos were moved into iMovie where I assembled the final movie and aligned them to music.
