Quick snapshot & staying safe - Knoxville, TN USA - efforts to minimize the risk (COVID-19). Picking up a pup cone for my pup.

The girls were indeed smiling..can you tell by the eyes?

Hadn't seen them in a long time. They grabbed a little water, a little suet, posed for a photo and were off again.

Titmouse

I was beginning to wonder where the hummingbirds had all gone but I saw a few at flowers the other day and today this one came back to the feeder for some fresh mixture of just sugar and water.

I hope you know how much I appreciate your visit here to my page and any comments that you may leave. I may not get back to you all right away but I will try to as quick as I am able.

Quick Shot …

A fish sandwich and a fries special at the Landungsbrücken in Hamburg has now become a tradition every time you visit the Hanseatic city. The actual flood protection dike was redesigned here. Offers street artists a large stage and invites you to stroll and take photos. The two DT5 units 417/418 with full advertising completely surprised me and could only be recorded with my cell phone at the last second. You are advertising the app from the Hamburger Verkehrs Association HVV.

Lasted less than 5 minutes.

Picture of the Day (tied)

Spent a good couple of hours at Frickley Country Park this morning, the weather was warm and the insects were out in force, so were the Meadow Pipits looking for a quick meal.

Kiss me quick, while we still have this feeling

Hold me close and never let me go

'Cause tomorrows can be so uncertain

Love can fly and leave just hurting

Kiss me quick because I love you so

Work truck that was whipped up in half an hour or so to use as a prop, using limited materials.

Hummingbird in Southern California! Those little winged wonders flutter their wings at a remarkable 80 times per second!

North American P-51D Mustang NL51HY "Quick Silver" taking off at EAA AirVenture 2024. The aircraft was built in 1945 as a P-51D-25-NT by North American at Dallas, Texas and delivered to the USAAF as 45-11439.

Based on Akiyuki's design. Rather simple build but very effective! Will most probably build something around it.

Just a quick note to let you know I may or may not upload any photos for a few days. I had the roof replaced on the house last week and we discovered bees nests in the drain pipes. I wouldn't have called the exterminator, except, that when you enter the front door the bees hover over your head waiting for you to go into the house and close the door and may decide to sting if you don't move fast enough. They're really big, beautiful, black and yellow bees and I'm sorry to destroy their nests, but I don't want an ouch!

The weather has also cooled to the low 60s, so it's back to gardening I go.

Will catch up with all my contacts this weekend.

Enjoy the rest of your week everyone!

Quick zoom in on the cafe window where you can see a barrista inside taking care of someone's order as he approached the mandatory closing time under new Covid restrictions (cafes have to close at 6pm here at the moment, so as dusk and rain both fell this was the last few moments before closing)

56078 has been at a stand ticking over at Washwood Heath West Junction for some time and has just been joined by Caroline 975025 which was also held at the signal giving the two drivers a moment or two to exchange pleasantries. 078 was on a short run to Kidderminster, 0Z56, from Nottingham Eastcroft and Caroline was en route to Cardiff running as 5Z50. The location for this shot is now long gone.

Our regular male sparrowhawk. We also see a female, but not so frequently.

My regular 'spar fan' visitors will know that I once witnessd a male spar doing a **prey pass to his female, in mid-air, in my own garden. It was awesome to see, but I wasn't quick enough to get the shot. The female just seemed to come out of nowhere and then she was off. Huh, that's my excuse, anyway.

**Pair bonding.

Also known as Zhangjiajie National Park, this park in the Hunan Province of China is home to over 3,000 quartz sandstone pillars.

There are over 500 different tree species within Wulingyuan National Park.

The quartzite sandstones pillars in the park reach as high as over 2,625 feet (800 meters) tall!

There are 560 other scenic sites to visit within Wulingyuan National Park besides the sandstone pillars, such as the Golden Whip Stream.

This was the first national forest park in China.

Last night in Capitol Reef and not a lot happening....or so we thought as we were waiting around for sunset. Proof positive that Mother Nature can be full of surprises, even in a matter of minutes. We were close to a forest service road when I noticed colors developing in the sky....pull over here I said, and then I quickly searched for something that would offer a bit of foreground interest. Ended up being a beautiful ending to the day.

Just uploaded a dozen and a half images.....hope you enjoy!!!!! Have a great Sunday, and as always, thanks for all your visits and comments :-)

Front of a quick shirt I did for a mate.

Couldn't be doing with all the cleaning up that comes with using the foam roller method so sprayed straight onto the shirt. Kept the sprays nice and light so it didn't get all hard and nasty.
