Our regular male sparrowhawk. We also see a female, but not so frequently.
My regular 'spar fan' visitors will know that I once witnessd a male spar doing a **prey pass to his female, in mid-air, in my own garden. It was awesome to see, but I wasn't quick enough to get the shot. The female just seemed to come out of nowhere and then she was off. Huh, that's my excuse, anyway.
**Pair bonding.

Also known as Zhangjiajie National Park, this park in the Hunan Province of China is home to over 3,000 quartz sandstone pillars.
There are over 500 different tree species within Wulingyuan National Park.
The quartzite sandstones pillars in the park reach as high as over 2,625 feet (800 meters) tall!
There are 560 other scenic sites to visit within Wulingyuan National Park besides the sandstone pillars, such as the Golden Whip Stream.
This was the first national forest park in China.

This Red-tailed Hawk glided by heading into the woods in stealth mode but I was able to grab a quick capture. Taken at Rocky River Reservation Metro Park.
Front of a quick shirt I did for a mate.
Couldn't be doing with all the cleaning up that comes with using the foam roller method so sprayed straight onto the shirt. Kept the sprays nice and light so it didn't get all hard and nasty.

Last night in Capitol Reef and not a lot happening....or so we thought as we were waiting around for sunset. Proof positive that Mother Nature can be full of surprises, even in a matter of minutes. We were close to a forest service road when I noticed colors developing in the sky....pull over here I said, and then I quickly searched for something that would offer a bit of foreground interest. Ended up being a beautiful ending to the day.
Just uploaded a dozen and a half images.....hope you enjoy!!!!! Have a great Sunday, and as always, thanks for all your visits and comments :-)

Hadn't seen them in a long time. They grabbed a little water, a little suet, posed for a photo and were off again.

When I got to school with my sister and dad, my sister spotted a red tailed hawk finishing eating something by the a pond. I walked over and took a quick photo with my dad's camera before the bell rang!
It quickly came down to a choice between seeing a psychiatrist or buying a horse. Since almost everyone I knew was seeing a psychiatrist, and since I had an absolute belief that I should be able to handle my own problems, I naturally bought a horse.”

Well I'm back from a quick two-day stint at the Disney World with tons of great photography. It goes without saying that much of this great stuff wouldn't of happened if it wasn't for the folks at WDWphotography.com for arranging a photowalk week at the mouse house. One which had many photo-loving disney fans and some fellow flickrites roaming the lands searching for new and exciting ways to capture what makes Walt Disney World one-of-a-kind. I've met a lot of really great people, some i've been looking forward to meet as well as some new faces. I also met disney professionals Bob Desmond, Alain Boniec, and Lee McKee. Each one with -*decades* worth of experience capturing (and they are still capturing) all that magic that is Disney. They were very excited to meet us and told us lots of great stories while working for the mouse and shared their work. I particularly enjoyed chatting with Lee. He shared some really great photoshop tips and put together a large collection of great work he's done himself and with Alain.
Afterwards the group went to shoot Illuminations and the special Holiday edition of Illuminations. After the meet I ran to my car on the lot and came back to set up at the one location I had to re-do..the fountains of nations. The fountain itself is a wonderful base for long exposure but to combine it with fireworks is like that cherry on top it needs. So after waiting 20 minutes in the freezing Orlando weather that night, the wind was blowing around and my hands and fingers losing all sorts of feeling. I stayed there taking numerous shots as the show went on. This was one of the best shots i grabbed from the holiday version of Illuminations. This location was quiet. you could barely hear the music at the World showcase atop the constant flow of the fountain so I had to pay real close attention to the rockets as they flew up the pitch dark sky so I can hit the shutter at the right time.
