I find this very helpful. It is not the only way to ID these insects but it is quick and good for those of us who are not experts.
You will have to view in LARGE to see the detail of the antennae.

First quick trip out for 2019 and went out with something completely different in mind. I wasn't able to get the shot I wanted (due to many reasons, including misjudging the tide and the poor weather), but fortunately I didn't come back empty-handed. On the way back to the car, I spotted this structure in the water and thought I would give it a go. Nothing special, but I do like the overall feeling of the image

Oh, I thought I would manage a good old walk this afternoon but I didn't get too far as it poured down with rain!! At this point on my way back home the rain had stopped but as I was soaked, I just kept homeward bound!!

I found stunning wildflower blooms on two visits to Death Valley in April. It can be very hot in the park by mid-March, so visitation drops off quickly in the Spring.

As you can tell by the blood on this Coopers Hawks talons and beak, this true predator, and swift hunter, quickly eats his prey, (a Pidgeon), I know because I watched the whole thing, and then vanishes in plain flight.

Catching a launch shot is fun after spending much time with my lens aimed at perched eagles. They can sit in a spot for hours between fish. I was locked on to this baldie when he made his move, which was just a quick drop and then off.
It all happens so fast.
He/she must have exhaled strongly as there is some nostril spray.
A follow-up shot milleseconds later in comments.
They are so impressive to watch.
