in the eyes of a cat I read a dumb question: why did you come?.in the wasteland the only stone that has heated up during the day and on it sits a nice cat..I am often asked why I like cats? A cat is a symbol of freedom and independence. They rarely show aggression. They are our doctors. They are just very, very cute:)

Storms always seem to provide me with... a lesson from Brother Fear and Sister Awe. To the east the darkening clouds & wind rushed to engulf the landscape while to the west the sun was setting...

“It’s not a bad lesson to learn in the bleaker months: how you view a storm is a question of perspective; provided you find the right rock to watch it from, it could be the most incredible thing you’ll ever witness.”

The tree, or not the tree, that is the question ...
The two white marks on the left hind wing of the question mark butterfly really do resemble a question mark. The undersides of question mark butterfly's wings resemble dead leaves.

My attempt at the "Macro Mondays" theme "On Top"
According to the definition of this weeks theme there have to be two things, which "must be different kinds of things". That raises the question:
Is a raisin something different from a grape?
Is the chicken different from the egg?
Is anything even real? Is this philosophy?
(Okay, at least we know the answer to the last question is "NO, get lost!" 😂)

,,,,,,There is no way to find a single absolute certainty. No irrefutable argument that helps us to give answers to the questions of humanity, philosophy is therefore dead, because what cannot be talked about, it is much better to remain silent.
Man, being unable to match mind and matter, tends to confer a certain entity to ideas because he cannot bear that the purely abstract only occurs in our brain.
As I have heard so many times (The beauty and harmony of a flower, a snowflake or a butterfly that flaps its wings and causes a hurricane on the other side of the world!!) They have been talking about that butterfly for decades and about that harmony, but who has been able to predict a single hurricane? NOBODY.
Where is that beauty and that harmony in cancer, for example, that makes a cell decide to become a metastasis and destroys the rest of the cells of a healthy body? Does anyone know?, NO,
We prefer to think of flowers, snowflakes or butterflies than of pain. Why? Because we need to believe that life has meaning, that everything is governed by logic, not by mere chance.
If we write 2,4,6, we feel good, because we know that 8 will come later, we can foresee it, we are not in the hands of fate at that moment.
Unfortunately, however, this has nothing to do with the truth, do you think?
This is just fear.
Sad, but it is what it is,,,,,,

This is a first for me. A Question Mark Butterfly. It was closed when I first saw it. I knew it was something I'd never seen before because of its shape. Then it opened its wings! Lovely!
We stop
We look
We enjoy
We question on what we call beauty, or are we like those genious who with a brush produces pieces of art that will never be taken into consideration by the passerby.
Have a great monday everyone, buon lunedi a tutti.
The rookery at Resoft consists of three small islands in a relatively small pond. Cattle Egrets (I'd estimate a thousand, maybe more) currently dominate the rookery. A Cattle Egret was photographed ensnared in monofilament (fishing line) hanging from a tree on one of the islands. This distressed bird came to the attention of the authorities who sent workers in boats to free the bird. This intervention (I'd never seen humans on any of the islands before) profoundly disturbed the nesting birds, which took to the air in flocks multiple times as the rescue operation progressed. This photo and the next were taken one tenth of a second apart. They document one of the disturbances. The question is: Is the life of one Cattle Egret worth the disruption to a rookery of a thousand birds? Let me know your opinion. Resoft County Park, Alvin, Texas.

"What to ourselves in passion we propose,
The passion ending, doth the purpose lose.
The violence of either grief or joy
Their own enactures with themselves destroy:
Where joy most revels, grief doth most lament;
Grief joys, joy grieves, on slender accident.
This world is not for aye, not 'tis not strange
That even our loves should with our fortunes change;
For 'tis a question left us yet to prove,
Whether love lead fortune, or else fortune love.
The great man down, you mark his favorite flies;
The poor advanc'd makes friends of enemies.
And hitherto doth love on fortune tend;
For who not needs shall never lack a friend,
And who in want a hollow friend doth try,
Directly seasons him his enemy.
But, orderly to end where I begun,
Our wills and fates do so contrary run
That our devices still are overthrown;
Our thoughts are ours, their ends none of our own"

The idea to this image started with the question: How would a landscape photographed at daylight would look, if changed to night with Photoshop?
A lot of questions have been asked. And just a few answers. The answer may has been said, but we didn't realize it. Watch carefuly for it, it may come from the most unlikely place, from the light or from the shadow. Or be ignorant and just don't ask. It makes your life easier, but...
Answer -Make them into a fence!
There is an old, disused railway line that closed down years ago in Balderton, Newark. After the removal of thousands of old wooden railway sleepers and conversion of the old track bed into a path and cycle way, the problem still remained over what to do with them. Many were sold off cheaply but a few were used to create fences at various points along the old line.
Most people will not even give the material used for the fence a second glance and will have no idea where they came from!

Answer if you want. I saw this question on the net ( not sure who said that) and I really thought it was an interesting question. My answer is No but I still like to go places far away when it is possible.
** thanks Tota for the texture.**
Is it interesting or is it ugly or is it both ... or something else?
My friend moved from a place with an amazing seaside view to a cute little cottage in suburban Wellington. Towering over his lovely garden is this beast of a building.
Steve is such an amazing positive dude and he loves his new abode. I'm not sure what he thinks of this behemoth but I'm sure he would see the beauty in it. What absolutely astounds me is that an architect would put big concrete walls with few windows on a pretty much north facing wall. I think they used to call it progress, not sure what they call it now!
I do like the of agapanthus flowers that line the fence however they're considered a pest in New Zealand as they grow so prolifically and drown out any natives that are generally slower growing.
Have a wonderful weekend my dear flickr friends :)
Digitalmania Challenge week, let's try our hand at creating a composite character with odd bits and pieces. Here's an example:
