The question yesterday as we prepared for a hike was cameras or no cameras? The answer was yes cameras although I wasn't feeling high energy so I compromised with a lighter camera body D850 and short lens 300mm VR PF f/4. When the owl flew by we were very happy that we had had agreed cameras :)
Question:
When is a reflection not a reflection?
When it is a contemplation - but only when the subject contemplating, the object contemplated, and the act of contemplation itself, all merge into one. At that point, the reflection gives way to pure Being.
There were no mirrors used in the taking of this photo, except of course, my mind - which is in need of some polishing :^))
in the eyes of a cat I read a dumb question: why did you come?.in the wasteland the only stone that has heated up during the day and on it sits a nice cat..I am often asked why I like cats? A cat is a symbol of freedom and independence. They rarely show aggression. They are our doctors. They are just very, very cute:)
Here's a shot taken at Newport Pier one Sunday evening. I know your not supposed to center your subject in the composition but I just couldn't help myself. :)

The two white marks on the left hind wing of the question mark butterfly really do resemble a question mark. The undersides of question mark butterfly's wings resemble dead leaves.

My attempt at the "Macro Mondays" theme "On Top"
According to the definition of this weeks theme there have to be two things, which "must be different kinds of things". That raises the question:
Is a raisin something different from a grape?
Is the chicken different from the egg?
Is anything even real? Is this philosophy?
(Okay, at least we know the answer to the last question is "NO, get lost!" 😂)

This is a first for me. A Question Mark Butterfly. It was closed when I first saw it. I knew it was something I'd never seen before because of its shape. Then it opened its wings! Lovely!
