Burning Man Wedding. Enjoying the view from the yacht they were married on and about to toast their guests.
I saw 6 butterflies today at the meadow - 4 American Snouts & 2 Question Marks. Yesterday I had a QM/Comma in our backyard. I think all of the butterflies I've seen lately over-wintered - they're very worn.
The QM's were very skittish and flew off quickly. The Snouts continuously circled the small area of shrubs where they hang out - circling me repeatedly. Yes, I whacked the bushes with my walking stick when I got there - and this QM and a Snout flew out and up into the air as if attacking each other. Pairs of Snouts did the same thing several times.

I just used it for DOF tests.
Also the sharpness and AF point (front- or backfocus) are checked here, after having calibrated the lens first at f. 1.8 on a testcard and in the field.
I prefer the fieldtest over the short distance testcard procedure, since these two entities never match, (having the lensgroups in different positions per test) and I mainly work in the field with long distances and reasonably small apertures who tend to mask small mismatches anyway.
Support people to start acting for the sake of better changes. During the festival the participants were invited to extend their comfort zone of their everyday roles by facing challenging quests interacting with each other and the environment.

Today I noticed several Question Mark butterflies (Polygonia interrogationis) depositing eggs in a raspberry bush patch at the entrance to Hurlbert Swamp in Stewartstown, NH.
Surprisingly, they are already of the summer form.
Traveling around Southern Sweden and Copenhagen last week, I had no trouble finding ideas for my photo of the day. In fact, it was impossible to choose one so I ended up uploading several per day.
Now home and back at work, new idea's for my daily's are playing hard to find.
I believe this is a Question Mark (yeah, it is really named that) which landed on my bike seat at the Butterfly Garden tonight. At the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS.
