I really really thought that I was going to come up with something to celebrate day 200. Yes, its rainy and cold here in NJ - but that is not my excuse for a selfie.
Dealing with some shitty news and trying to sort it all out. Project 365 has been very helpful - hard at times putting things out there for the "interweb" people to see...but you guys have been real wonderful.
As i have said before, FLICKRPEEPS rock...so, day 200 - still shooting, and still questioning.
In the right hand light, Herod, with his golden crown, is shown questioning Christ, who, as King of Heaven, wears, not an earthly crown but a mandorla. Some brief notes on the medieval glass , hanging on the wall of the cathedral, suggest that the pale blue glass represents the skies of heaven, while the darker blue below shows an earthly sky, suggesting that Christ belonged in both worlds.
Re-set 13th century stained glass in the sanctuary of the cathedral of St Nazaire, Béziers. The cathedral, originally of Norman construction, suffered several catastrophes and many alterations over the centuries. The windows in the sanctuary were installed in the 18th century and the earlier fragments of glass were placed top and bottom of each. You really need binoculars to appreciate them properly and they are difficult to photograph , as they are set at an angle and the sanctuary is inaccessible.
President Obama’s choice for Defense Secretary came under tough questioning Thursday in his confirmation hearings before a United States Senate committee. Both Democrats and Republicans on the Armed Services Committee challenged former Nebraska Senator Chuck Hagel over his views and previous statements on Israel and Iran, while Hagel tried to clarify his most controversial remarks.
Hagel downplayed his most provocative comments, including his 2008 statement that the “Jewish lobby intimidates a lot of people on Capitol Hill.” Pressed about the remarks by South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, Hagel said “pro-Israel lobby” would have been more accurate’ as would the word “influence” rather than “intimidate.” He also said he shouldn’t have characterized letters supporting Israel and circulated by such groups as the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) as “stupid.”
When challenged by Senator Graham to name one person who had been influenced or one “wrong-headed policy” that had been supported as a result of lobbying by groups such as AIPAC, Hagel couldn’t do so.
Hagel was also asked about the depth of his support for Israel. “That support I have always made clear,” he told the committee, adding that he thought it was important for the U.S. to provide additional funding to Israel for defense programs such as the Iron Dome. He also reiterated the importance of making sure Israel keeps its military edge in the Middle East even as the Pentagon faces expected budget cuts.
On Iran, Hagel came under fire from New Hampshire’s Kelly Ayotte, who challenged him over his 2006 statements suggesting that a military option against Iran was neither “responsible or viable.” Ayotte said that statement contradicted his recently stated view that all options for ending Iran’s nuclear program should be on the table. Hagel said the latter view is his current position and that his point in the 2006 statement was that military action “would not be a preferable option.”
The relationship between Israel and the United States has been a strained one during the Obama administration’s first term, with well-documented tension between the president and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The nomination of Chuck Hagel does nothing to improve the friction between the two nations and gives Israel more cause to be concerned about the relationship during Obama’s second term in office.
In I Samuel 2:30, God reminds us that “those who honor me I will honor, and those who despise me shall be lightly esteemed.” Pray that the Senate would be divinely led in regard to Chuck Hagel’s nomination and that we would choose a Defense Secretary that honors God by respecting the Jewish nation.

here is an interesting one, these nice gentlemen removed some really crap graffiti ( you know, the type of stuff ........ questioning someones religious preferences, suggesting that billy, betty, wendy, jimmy's (insert name here) parentage is not all it seems and "my part of the town is some what harder than your part of the town" style of thing) ....................... from the main wall of my flat.
The removal was done free of charge and a big thank you to North Ayrshire Councils Anti Graffiti Team. However I have no doubt that now there is a blank canvas, there will be a repeat of the above mince.
Soooooo if you are a genuine graffiti artist and not some one who has real trouble spelling waanker sorry wanker as in "billy smith is a wanker", and would like to produce a piece of, seriously folks, genuine graffiti art on a wall (thats is mine), that will not involve seeing the inside of a police car, cell etc after you have finished. I will very happily supply the painting materials and a nice cream tea. I will also photograph the piece as it develops. I can also film the process as well (although not for veiwing on flickr). marco www.flickr.com/photos/marcojacob/ will also do a timelapse piece so there you go

We were questioning whether we could make it to the park or not, with 15 cm of snow forcasted that morning, it would have been a heck of a drive in our little rental hyundai accent with all season tires (nicknamed Snowy Owl). Turns out though, the snow never came, and the snow covered roads weren't too bad. So we made it to the park
If you’re questioning why health care costs are going sky high, one factor could be the multimillion-dollar skyboxes that two of the Bay Location’s greatest “not-for-profit” insurance providers have purchased the 49ers’ brand-new stadium.

Cash in Your Sins brings the corrupt rich minority of the world into questioning, who in so many cases use their wealth to extort the hard working citizens of the world in order to benefit themselves. This painting can be generalised to many areas of the world where the rich control the poor and decide how they should be living. The large black figure is not the Grim Reaper that he appears to be, but represents the poorer population, it is disfigured and hunched under the hard labour placed upon it. The man kneeling is an old rich businessman, who has made his wealth from corrupt financial deals that have impacted the poor drastically. He is now answering for his sins, and his blood money is forced into being used for good, rather than to expand his own image. The large figure holds a miniscule donation bucket as a representation of distributed wealth and the kneeling man is offering a hand full of golden coins, but even then this is a meagre offering, and will make little difference to the problem of inequality, which has already caused widespread damage across the world. Even in Britain, the wealth of the minority far outweighs the wealth of the citizenry, and the rich continue to become rich at a rapid pace, while money becomes more scarce for the lower class, who are slowly becoming homeless, and enduring life threatening illness and disability, which is disregarded by the higher up and cast aside when the issue is raised.
