Henri Toulouse-Lautrec's studio was here. Artists such as Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh and Maurice Neumont also once lived here as did Andre Breton, and in 1928 Josephine Baker opened her first night club next door to Breton's apartment.

A droite l'église Saint-Georges.
Autrefois appelé passerelle Saint-Georges, cet ouvrage reliant les quartiers d'Ainay et Saint-Georges est ouvert au public le 21 octobre 1853. Il est constitué d'une travée de 87 m suspendue par des haubans fixés dans des mâts ancrés dans les deux piles placées à 10 m des rives.
Détruite en 1944, la passerelle est reconstruite à l'identique. Le 17 mars 2003, elle est renommée passerelle Paul Couturier en l'honneur de ce prêtre, né à la Guillotière le 29 juillet 1881 et décédé le 29 mars 1953, qui contribua aux échanges interconfessionnels.
On the right, the Saint-Georges church.
Formerly known as the Saint-Georges footbridge, this bridge linking the Ainay and Saint-Georges districts is open to the public on October 21, 1853. It consists of a 87 m span suspended by guy wires fixed in poles anchored in both of them. piles placed at 10 m from the banks.

Die Felder und Auen westlich des alten Karlsruher Stadtteils Rüppurr sind völlig unspekulär und jahrein, jahraus geschieht hier vorwiegend: nichts. Vielleicht üben sie gerade deshalb diesen ganz besonderen Reiz aus.
Les champs et les prairies à l'ouest du vieux quartier de Karlsruhe, Rüppurr, sont totalement banals et, année après année, la principale chose qui s'y passe est : rien. C’est peut-être précisément pour cela qu’ils ont cet attrait si particulier.
The fields and meadows west of the old Karlsruhe district of Rüppurr are completely unspecular and year in and year out the main thing that happens here is: nothing. Perhaps that is precisely why they have this very special appeal.
