Freshly cleaned, new wheels, coilovers installed, and some clouds rolling in make for great potential for a shot. Been practicing my HDR, this one is a -2,0,+2 EV 3 shot HDR processed in Photomatix and CS3.

Pirelli PZero

Great to have this little "pocket rocket" back home after it spent a year or so with my middle son. It was one of the first C30 T5's, before R-Design was a thing. I have had this car for a few years now, and it still makes me smile.

It is pretty much original, only upgraded brakes (I fried them on a lengthy sprint from Ft William to Inverness on the twisty back roads) and now has Michelin PS4's on her feet, due to difficulties sourcing the right sized Pirelli PZero's.

She is 15 years old yet has only 75k on the clock and is now going up in value.

Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce

-------------------------------------------

At the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, Lamborghini unveiled the ultimate version of the Murciélago, the LP 670-4 SuperVeloce. The SV moniker had previously appeared on the Diablo SV, and Miura. SV variants are more extreme and track-orientated, and are released at the end of each model's production run.

The SuperVeloce's V12 produces 670 PS (493 kW; 661 hp) at 8000 rpm and 490 lb·ft (660 N·m) of torque at 6500 rpm, thanks to revised valve timing and upgraded intake system. The car's weight was also reduced by 220 lb (100 kg) through extensive use of carbon fiber inside and out. A new lighter exhaust system was also used. As a result of the extensive weight loss, the SV produces a power-to-weight ratio of 429 Bhp/long ton. Also standard were the LP 640's optional 15-inch carbon-ceramic disc brakes with 6 piston calipers. In its June 2009 issue, Car and Driver magazine estimated that the LP 670-4 SV was capable of accelerating to 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standing start in just 2.9 seconds and on to 124 mph (200 km/h) in 7.4 seconds. Subsequent testing by "Road and Track" revealed a 0-60 time of 2.8 seconds and a quarter mile time of 10.9 seconds at 129.4 miles per hour.Lamborghini claims a top speed of 213 mph (343 km/h) when the car is fitted with an optional smaller spoiler, or 209 mph (336 km/h) with the standard Aeropack wing.

According to Maurizio Reggiani, head of Lamborghini R&D, the LP 670-4 SV's steering was tuned for high-speed sensitivity. The original production plan of the ultimate Murciélago was limited to 350 cars, and cost $450,000 US (before options) £270,038 in 2009). However, only 186 LP 670-4s were produced before the factory had to make room for the new Aventador production line. Numbered cars 1-350 do not represent the order in which cars were manufactured.

Lamborghini Aventador on Pirelli PZero Tires

The Auto Bugatti #46 Ferrari F430 Challenge Stradale car, driven by race driver Martin Burrowes, from the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli racing series, with an older Ferrari 360 Modena Challenge Stradale in the background, on display on Preston Street (Corso Italia) in Ottawa's Little Italy during the 2008 Ottawa Ferrari Festival held by the Ottawa chapter of the Ferrari Club of America.

As someone who has photographed Ferrari Challenge races in both Montreal and Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, I noticed that Scottsdale Ferrari-Maserati seems to be the dealership sponsoring the most cars in the North American Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli racing series. I assumed that this meant that a disproportionately high number of drivers were from Arizona or other southwestern states, but, apparently, they provide cars to Ferrari Challenge drivers from all over North America, as all of the sponsors seen here seem to be from the Montreal area: Auto Bugatti, Burrowes Insurance Brokers (Burrowes Courtiers d'Assurances), Groupe Direct - Services Routiers Spécializés (towing and other emergency road services), Construction CAL: Ceriko, Asselin, Lombardi Inc., and Brossard Location de Camions (truck rentals).

Incidentally, Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli is also the title of the videogame from System 3 and Activision that I've been anticipating more than I have ever anticipated any other videogame in my long history of videogame anticipation. It's being released on the Playstation 3, the Nintendo Wii, the Nintendo DS, the Sony PSP, and even the Playstation 2. Unfortunately, due to licensing issues (presumably regarding the Project Gotham Racing series and/or the Forza Motorsports series, both of which make extensive use of the Ferrari license), the game isn't being released on the XBox 360, the only current-gen system I own, for the time being, but the PlayStation 2 version looks very graphically-impressive for PS2, better than any other game I've seen on the system, even better than Gran Turismo 4. I hope the control is as tight as the previous Ferrari-exclusive videogame, Sega/AM2/Yu Suzuki's Ferrari F355 Challenge: Passione Rossa on the Dreamcast and Playstation 2, a game with a rather punishing learning curve, but I've never felt more truly in control of a virtual car than I have with the car in that game. Ayrton Senna's nephew Bruno Senna was the consultant from Ferrari involved in all stage's of the game's development, so it should be as authentic a Ferrari driving experience as can be simulated with a videogame controller (or Wii wheel).
