Yesterday evening Bidford staged its Fireworks display postponed from Bonfire Night due to heavy fog. Despite the very cold evening there was a good turnout to witness a pretty impressive display. Well done to all the organisers.

Pyrotechnics explode while an F-15 flies over to simulate an air-to-ground attack during the California Capital Air Show in Sacramento, Calif., on Jun. 9. The air show was the last event of Air Force Week California. The purpose of Air Force Week is to inform and educate the American public about the importance and roles of the Air Force in America's national defense. Over 50,000 people attended the air show featuring the Air Force Thunderbirds and numerous Air Force aircraft. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Larry A. Simmons)
This shows the ruby red stars layed inside the iner petal. The cavity for the stars was made by taking a 3" hemi, wrapping it in tissue paper, then packing the burst charge for the outer petal around it. Once all the burst has been added the hemi is carefully removed leaving the tissue paper behind. The only purpose the tissue paper serves is to make sure the inner petal stars don't sink into the burst of the outer petal.
