We gave the one at the back to another client when he left. The animals on it are based on designs from the Book of Kells.

Dave has crafted this 12 inch long Tibetan support spindle from walnut, cherry and hard mahogany. The rim of the walnut whorl has been adorned with a beautiful pyrographed rose and leaf motif. The shaft was crafted from cherry, and the point from hard mahogany. This gorgeous spindle weights 1.8 ounces (50 grams).

Woodwork Dave described this as a tea caddy, but, well. Upholstery Dave said it was Chinese-looking, which led to the design. The pictures are more or less copied out of a library book of Chinese art, specifically a drawing of a painting of a funerary banner, mid-2nd century BC. The symbols are for happiness, peace, luck and love.

This gypsy trinket box glitters and sparkles with wild colors and fun, random patterns.
I burnt the designs in by hand, used water colors and glitter pens to add some gypsy magic to it, then used an acrylic sealant to finish off the piece.
The inside of the box is still raw (no sealant or lining of any sort).
