Essentially this was the card that I used for my friends Earl and Marsha at their engagement party. This piece of cedar was orginally in a firewood pile but my dad had a crazy idea and saved the wood. My friend, Wendy helped me with the finish. Wendy will serve as the Maid of Honor at the Beighley wedding. The piece is cedar with woodburning letters.

This is the blade of a paddle I made. It has a fish scene wood burned (pyrography) onto it. This paddle and all the paddles I make feature a power stoke blade design. This means that the blade, in this instance, is 14 degrees off the center line. Very light and easy to use weighing in at 22 oz. The shafts of all these paddles are made by laminating 6 or 7 - 1/8" thick strips of wood.
Dave has crafted this 12 inch long Tibetan support spindle from walnut, cherry and hard mahogany. The rim of the walnut whorl has been adorned with a beautiful pyrographed rose and leaf motif. The shaft was crafted from cherry, and the point from hard mahogany. This gorgeous spindle weights 1.8 ounces (50 grams).
