Put the moth trap out hoping for a descent number being trapped but alas once again the numbers were well down.
It is only thanks for flickr friends that I have managed to give them an identity as I am hopeless on insects so my appreciation for any help remains undimmed.
This is what was in the trap.
Trap was placed by honeysuckle and a flower border but even then no elephant hawk moths although it may be a bit late for them now.
Apologies to all those who took the trouble to look at and comment upon these images when I uploaded earlier.
Flickr has once again changed the ground rules so that to up load these two image I had to wait twenty minutes - far too long.
As I frequently upload up to thirty images I do not have ten hours to waste so come in flickr speed things up please.
Put your left foot in
Now put your other left foot in
Are you having trouble getting it down?
I feel like I am starting to lift off the ground. I am starting to feel better about things. I hope it continues.
Mario Williams, Steve Slaton and the Houston Texans put on quite a show in their "Monday Night Football" debut.
Williams had a season-high three sacks and forced a fumble and Slaton ran for a pair of touchdowns to lead the Texans to a 30-17 win over the slumping Jacksonville Jaguars.
Andre Johnson had a touchdown reception and Kris Brown kicked three field goals in the victory, a highlight in Houston's disappointing season so far.
The top pick in the 2006 draft, Williams brought down quarterback David Garrard in the second, third and fourth quarters. He forced a fumble by Garrard on his last sack and Houston recovered on the seven-yard line.
Slaton scored on the next play to make it 23-3 with about five minutes left. The rookie tacked on a 40-yard touchdown run and finished with 130 yards rushing in 21 carries. He also had two catches for 52 yards.
Slaton, Williams and the rest of the Texans (5-7) wore their "Battle Red" uniforms for their first Monday night game. The city of Houston hosted a Monday night game for the first time since Nov. 21, 1994, when the New York Giants beat the Oilers at the Astrodome.
Sage Rosenfels, making his fourth consecutive start in place of injured Texans quarterback Matt Schaub, threw for 200 yards and a score with an interception.
Jacksonville (4-8), a playoff team last season, has lost five of six after another lackluster performance. The Jaguars had three turnovers and missed a field-goal attempt. Garrard fell to the turf twice without being touched by the defense

The little stinker is being carried away. He put the trap in the back of the truck, drove a couple of miles away and let it go.I hope it doesn't come back :)
a get-acquainted party, very nicely put on by the CaptionCall people who are HQ'd here, for the Hearing Loss Assoc. of America convention. A very worthy organization, full of free info about hearing loss, if you are in the market for same! See:
I started this quilt following a pattern (Navajo Code Talkers by Norma Whaley), but after making six blocks with very small stars, flying geese etc., I got lazy and made the remainder of the blocks using only strips of various widths. I did put a small dent in my stash of low volume fabrics.
Power from a CSX intermodal job, recently arrived in Worcester, puts their power away within the yard. Despite early rumors that a new engine terminal would be built on the site of the steam-era roundhouse, CSX continues to simply park idle locomotives on one of the yard tracks, with refueling done by truck.
*from a selection of sketches, drawings and portraits of people known to artist, their dreams, anxieties and life styles as perceived by artist. Sketchbooks are the diaries artists carry in their heads until put on paper, they are not copies of other people's art and are not made to please anyone except artist who may or my not use them in future for the making of art. They are neither good or bad; I don't even know if they can be categorized as art, all i know they are revealing to what we feel within ourselves and what we think of those that have influenced our art. The portraits are not as they or the world sees them but as we perceive them to be. In short they are nothing but impressions of them at the moment which can often change within minutes or hours. There are some of course who never change for the better or worse. When viewing set, should anyone be interested in the character or image drawn, you are welcome to question them in my comment box and I will gladly answer your queries.
Thank you!
Put this together with the help of the local blacksmith. Works well. needs a couple more air-holes I reckon..
PUT CHO HANDS UP! Amir, our favorite Iranian in the world, let me tatty up his mitts with these relics of video game history. The picture doesn't show the ring to well. but when his hands are together, it looks like the 2 of um are fighting over the same golden ring. SSSSoooo good. It just sucked that i had to wait 2 weeks, for the swelling to go down, to give Amir a proper Hi-5 for being such a good canvas. Hugs & kisses *muah*....

I wish I Was going out on a date tonight in this dress but unfortunately I am not.
I think a flowing red cocktail dress like this would be a decent choice and quite pleasing to a prospective date be it either man or woman though don't you?
Then there's the clicking of those heels which can stir a wee bit of sexual stimulation in a suitor too.. **Wink**
I know if I was dating a woman who was around my age I would like her to wear something like this. Or maybe it's just that I feel so seriously feminine when I get this particular article of clothing on that it conjures up thoughts of cocktail lounges and dance floors in my head.
Ho Hum, T'is my lot to be a dreamer.. **lol**.
Anyhow these are not my most comfy shoes but they will suffice in a pinch (No pun intended)..... Well maybe just a wee one.. Ha!
If you’re starting to feel like this because it’s winter on virtual news…

Or maybe like this…

I really don’t blame you.
The cold weather, dry air, and all-around dreariness that only having a few hours of sunlight brings can get even the most chipper...

Put some Salsa 46cm Cowbell bars on the CC and rode out to the Gorge. Love the bars. LOVE! THE! BARS! Did I mention that I love the bars? I will soon put some on my rando bike and eventually on my LHT. Nice flat section on the ramp and they flare out at the ends.
Bonkers eating his lunch this afternoon. He cannot really stand up right now (his rear legs seemed to have stopped working - this has happened in the past so we hope this is just temporary) so I put his food on a very thick manga and propped Bonkers up next to his chigura so he could eat. He ate most of his food.

Chẳng bao giờ đủ can đảm làm điều đó
..
Có lẽ vì tôi đã hứa vs một người
- Tôi hứa .. Tôi sẽ lại yêu ..

Last year in Back To School promotion I made one cool make up sample from the best selling series of notebooks called Put Together series. You get to choose your cover, refills and accessories in various colors and combinations, to make your own perfect notebook. Accessories includes photo album, zipped pocket, name card holder, ruled notebooks, weekly/monthly notebooks etc. That very sample I put in Times Square was stolen.
Because of the APM new store opening, I made another one. Decorated with stamps, stickers, photos etc. It was in the store for only 1 day. This time it was not stolen, but a customer begged to buy from us that very sample loving the photos and stamps I made. Store manager called me and I came back to the store to meet this person. She was literally snatching photos from my hands and insisted buying the whole thing. In addition to all the materials I used to make that sample, I charged HK$50 extra. Man I regretted that, should've charged more.
We always know the importance of make up samples. It is important to show customer how the products can be used and inspire/motivate their purchase. But carefully made samples are being stolen all the time and it is discouraging. I wish people appreciate more because any make up sample is made not by a company but by a person, you got to treasure them and appreciate the person behind it.
Nevertheless, I've asked my colleague to write-off a few hundred dollar worth of products in the range to let me do another round of make up samples. I made a total of 5 for each of our stores carrying the Put Together series. They are carefully decorated with Cavallini stickers, stamps, personalized with painted leather cover, photos, clippings, air tickets, etc. I hope the store people and our customer will treasure them.

I thought I'd put together a little mosaic of some of my more recent favorite things I've seen for my partner. That scrappy block in the upper left makes my heart sing - I love it. You can't go wrong with granny squares, so fun! The lower left I love the whole everything but the kitchen sink look of it! And finally maple leaves - I love fall and warm colors! ***I can't seem to find the code that used to come with Big Huge Labs mosaic maker, so if you want to see the source of these images please go to my favorites. They are I'm a Ginger Monkey, Fittin to Quilt, RedQuilt, and House of A La Mode.
This is a gorgeous shabby chic, vintage home decor vignette that I have put together. The details of each piece in this grouping are as follows:
For your wall, a beautiful detailed wood framed crewel wall hanging depicting a collection of flowers. The frame is painted an off white colour, with green detailing and comes with a green matte. The crewel work is in very good vintage condition but does have a few missing bits here and there. Nothing that takes away from the overall beauty of the piece. It is 14 inches by 14 inches.
A beautiful decorative tin from 1983 in soft pastel colours with an off white background. Again the motif is soft flowers and graceful lines. The tin is 7 inches tall by approximately 6 inches wide.
A 1960s pale amber coloured swirl vase in perfect condition. It has an applied base and it actually thicker glass then most vases of this size. No rim chips, cracks or blemishes of any kind. It stands 9 inches tall by approximately 3 inches wide. The colour of the vase matches the shades of amber in the crewel work.
A 1950's mirrored vanity plate in excellent condition is also included in the set. It has beautiful painted metalwork and plastic feet on the bottom to protect your vanity or dresser. It is 7.5 inches across and stands about 1 inch tall. The mirror is in perfect condition.
Finally adding a little charm to the overall grouping is a 1940s spaghetti poodle set, complete with mom and two pups connected by a chain. This set is showing some age, mom is missing part of her face fluff and one pup has had it's tail docked, but for their age and delicacy they are in very good vintage condition. Made in Japan, these dogs are quite collectible and harder to find in their original attached state.
to put them down in words demands sequence, a sense of time and space. of then and now.
on a walk: brooklyn, new york.
I put my feet on the ground for the march and made it almost all the way from 72nd and CPW until my feet and legs gave out at 41st and 11th Ave. It was a gratifying experience and I was most thrilled to see how many generations were represented: little kids, college students, old farts like me, and the very old. The last times I marched in NYC were in 1969-1970 with the Women's movement and other equality protests......much smaller marches, though still mighty and effective. The number of people yesterday was monumental in comparison.

As the new year rolled in I asked my daughter what she wanted for her birthday? She found out that "Sophisticated Ladies" was coming to the Zach Theatre in July and decided that would make a great gift. We went last night and OMG we had so much fun! A beautiful building (Topfer Theatre), fun drinks, and every inch of this production is amazing! I just wanted to put some tap shoes on and get up on stage to join them! Gorgeous glam! So many costume changes, glitter and sparkles, ingratiating personalities, gossimar singing, live orchestra, period inspired costumes, the best songs, so much color and life, I can't say enough! Go see it for yourself! Last day is: August 23rd.
