The old 11th century 'tub' font below had been serving the purpose of drinking-trough in a field outside. It was restored to its proper use and given a new base in 1890.

That there was a church at Titchwell at the end of the eleventh century is evidenced by Domesday, and much of the existing building dates from about that time. The tower is an interesting example of the many East Anglian eleventh century round towers.

Although Titchwell Church attained its present plan during the 15th century, repairs were carried out in 1844 and again in 1859, but in 1890 came a thorough restoration of the whole building.

The spirelet on top of the round tower is a special feature of this church, which shows well from the main road. Travellers along this Saxon Shore see a full range of church towers in commanding position all the way and each one is different. Here the spirelet is topped by a substantial cross.

Finding Success, Happiness and Purpose

As we speed through life, do we even take a second to reflect on what we are doing in this existance? Are we living life the way we truly ought to live it? Or the way we are programmed by society? We fast foward on the simplicities of life and then try to rewind, but fail miserably. All we see are the ups, downs, going in circles and stepping sideways - We don't get to see the intricacies that life has granted us, the small details which count the most. In the end it's all a blur. Pause, look around you, appreciate, smile, love, live, and let live...

Hong Kong Transport - Trucks

The Hong Kong Truck Culture

The number of Trucks, Vans* and Special Purpose Vehicles (Light, Medium & Heavy) registered + licenced in Hong Kong seems to fluctuate between 120,000 - 125,000 vehicles and presumably new trucks registered are offset by old trucks being retired or sold over the border in China.

*Vans are classified as Light Goods Vehicles and are not shown in this album

In Hong Kong Trucks are classified as GOODS VEHICLES By the Transport Department - see below

☛Light Goods Vehicles - Goods vehicles of permitted gross vehicle weight not exceeding 5.5 tonnes.

☛Medium Goods Vehicles - Goods vehicles of permitted gross vehicle weight exceeding 5.5 tonnes but not exceeding 24 tonnes.

☛Heavy Goods Vehicles - Goods vehicles of permitted gross vehicle weight exceeding 24 tonnes but not exceeding 38 tonnes.

The major truck types you tend to see in urban areas are trucks carrying construction materials or waste, dump trucks, concrete mixers and all sizes of delivery trucks... outside of the urban areas it is container trucks and large trucks carrying construction materials.

The following brands of Trucks can be seen on the streets of Hong Kong and include:-

Beiben ✚ Bell ✚ CAMC ✚ CNHTC ✚ DAF ✚ Dennis ✚ Dong Feng ✚ FAW ✚ Fuso ✚ Foton ✚ Ford ✚ Hino ✚ Howo ✚ Hyundai ✚ Isuzu ✚ Iveco ✚ JAC ✚ Kato ✚ KIA ✚ Liebherr ✚ MAN ✚ Mercedes Benz ✚ Mitsubishi ✚ Nissan ✚ Renault ✚ Scania ✚ Shacman ✚ Sinotruk ✚ Suzuki ✚ Toyota ✚ UD ✚ Volvo ✚ Zoomlion

Hong Kong is a brand conscious place even for trucks (!) hence the popularity of the European brands, Scania and Man are very popular and even the older trucks look the business and they are utterly reliable.

Isuzu is the market leader in terms of sale volume for all types of trucks.

Purpose Served. It is sometimes difficult for me to find beauty in this sandy brown land we live in. So, when a flower falls perfectly against the texture of a treasured outdoor bench, capturing the moment renews my faith in nature to provide beauty in the bleakness. It also serves as the rejuvenating thought that cooler weather will be coming soon.

Learn why, how, and what Coding with Purpose means. One of the reasons I code is because I want to change the world. We'll walk through different ways to do this with some free tools. Since most of these tools are APIs, we'll also walk through some simple ways to consume an API. Lastly, we'll run through the code of a simple website I built where missionaries can upload, organize and share images.

The “365″ is part of the project “Uncos Purpose”. 365 days in a year, 360 degrees in circle. Close enough. This is the perfect example of an idea- or rather just a passing thought- that I never would have followed up on if I had not decided to not let myself question anything in this project. It is just fun to look at such an utterly pointless object. What could you long less for than a huge calendar chair, when you have calendars everywhere already- the phone, the computer, the ipad… Still, it is something that I like about having to manually flip over a sheet each day, though I am not sure exactly what that is. Perhaps I just like the notion of being in control over time, like it wont pass if I do not decide to change the date. Also I imagine I would use it not so much as a chair, but more like a filing cabinet, putting letters and papers etc. between the sheets so that when it is the 25th- all my bills fall out over the floor when i flip down the sheet.

Chesters was a cavalry fort and its purpose was to guard a river crossing on the north Tyne. This aerial photo, from an English Heritage information board, shows the layout of the fort quite well.

From the English Heritage visitor centre you follow a path to the north gate of the fort, seen here bottom right. The first block of ruins is a barracks block, where men and horses shared the accommodation. Beyond them is the fort HQ, on the right, and the commanding officer's house next to it on the left. The most distant ruins are the south gate and towers on the south wall.

Between the barracks and the commander's house is the west gate, from which a path leads down towards the river and the bathhouse. The east gate is to the right, off the photo
