These Puppets were so much fun. Cut the end off a glove and away you go. We used PVA, and felt, feathers and textas. Grade 1.
Today my class finished their puppets. Then they practiced in partners telling each other what their community helper puppets do. (It might look like this guy is some kind of a partial skeleton but it's supposed to be an x-ray technician holding an x-ray in his hand!)
"Ocha the Octopus" by Jennifer Garrido. Articulated shadow puppet constructed of copper components riveted to allow movement.
Traditional Burmese puppetry performance in the foyer of our hotel in Mandalay. The performers were highly skilled and the range of complex movements they achieved in animating the puppets was amazing.
Entertainers have a puppet show for the young children every Saturday at the Pleasantville Farmer's Market. The kids are also allowed to be a part of the fun through participation and other games! But as you can see, as they were trying to gather the participants, it was a little unorganized.

Each puppet is conrolled by 3 persons. This allows independent control of both arms, legs and head. Amazingly lively puppets.

This piece is cut paper and acrylic paint, plus sequins, beads, and string. In the beginning I planned to show hands holding the strings, but this is what happened, and I like how it turned out.
My friend made this with materials she found around the office. Notice the nail marks on the hands and feet.

The puppet theatre is always ready for new visitors! Bring your own puppets – Maybe you can make some like these - or ask for some of ours.
The puppet was made by Bruce Rowland and dressed by me. The head was made from fibreglass and the hands, feet and legs carved from wood. The helmet, shield and lance were made on a 3D printer.
