Edible but usually not eaten. Used mostly for decoration, they look like the pumpkin that became Cinderella's Coach.

My second ever attempt at pumpkin carving - it wasn't a 'thing' in Britain when I was growing up, although I notice more pumpkin-themed images in British people's Halloween pics each year.
Last time I carved a pumpkin was with my son back in 1995 or 1996 when he came to visit me in Marin.
This one was a bit more ambitious as I attempted go for a Court of the Crimson King vibe. Maybe my next attempt will be more successful.
Them pumpkins sure is tough to cut.
