The lonely two pumpkins we did this year

An old pumpkin I found on the train tracks. Kinda good condition for being like mid December, and it being there since like October.

Rachel and I went out to buy pumpkins this morning at a small fruit and vegetable stand near Willard, Utah. If you like fresh pumpkins and/or squash, I encourage you to make the trip; there are plenty of opportunities to use your camera and the prices are significantly lower than in local stores.

Going to our favorite pumpkin patch in the afternoon. Not a big selection left .. therefore not a lot of photo opportunities.

My second ever attempt at pumpkin carving - it wasn't a 'thing' in Britain when I was growing up, although I notice more pumpkin-themed images in British people's Halloween pics each year.

 

Last time I carved a pumpkin was with my son back in 1995 or 1996 when he came to visit me in Marin.

 

This one was a bit more ambitious as I attempted go for a Court of the Crimson King vibe. Maybe my next attempt will be more successful.

 

Them pumpkins sure is tough to cut.

The template looked much better than the result, the pumpkin was wile damp and had very thick flesh.
